As our local Group Coordinator you’ll take the lead in making sure your local group works as effectively as possible. What do I have to do?

Attend meetings roughly four times a year to help steer the organisation towards its goals. And using your skill set to help grow and advance our non-profit.

Using your knowledge of the Education Sector you will build strong partnerships with schools and colleges to deliver nutrition and lifestyle based interventions that inspire children and young adults to eat more real and natural food!

What will you be doing?

In this immensely important and pivotal role within CFK you will: 

• Build a team of like-minded volunteers who have a good understanding of the education sector including how schools run, the curriculum and the most effective ways of educating and inspiring children and their families
• Lead and inspire your team to design, refine and deliver inspiring interventions
• Design and develop strategies to support the achievement of the CFK project goals
• Lead the design, delivery and implementation of interventions within school settings
• Build strong relationships with current and potential intervention sites (i.e. schools), strategic partners and other CFK Teams

What are we looking for?

About You

To be successful in this role you will have:

• Experience working with children, educators / teachers and parents in school settings 
• A clear and visible passion for improving the health and wellbeing of children through nutrition and lifestyle
• Some formal training in working with children, for example as teacher, Head Teacher, teaching assistant, educationalist, health/sport coach
• Strong management and leadership experience and skills  
• A natural ability to inspire others 
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage projects effectively
• Articulate written, visual and verbal communicator - fluency in English is essential 
• Experience and interest in working with authorities (ideal but not essential)

As a team of volunteers, we are ever so grateful to everyone who agrees to contribute some of their valuable time to the project. As a Team Leader we ask for a commitment of 5-6 hours per week (on average). 

All are voluntary positions with no remuneration offered other than what we hope will be a huge amount of job satisfaction and fun, working with like-minded people with a passion for making a real difference to future generations.

As the leader of the 'Schools Delivery Team' you will effectively develop and lead a team of like minded volunteers whose inspiring creativity and ideas will improve the health and happiness of children and their families, not just now but for generations to come!

Key tasks

Trustee Support

• Assist trustees with governance-related tasks and ensure they have access to relevant policies, guidelines, and resources.
• Direct trustees to appropriate regulatory frameworks, best practices, and governance training materials.

Governance & Compliance Support

• Support the onboarding process for new trustees, ensuring all necessary documentation is collected and securely stored.
• Assist in coordinating trustee meetings, including preparation of agendas, accurate minute-taking, and document distribution.
• Maintain key governance registers, such as the register of interests, policy register, and risk register, ensuring timely updates and compliance.

Policy & Risk Management

• Support the Governance Lead in developing and reviewing governance policies, including Conflict of Interest, Risk Management, and Whistleblowing Policies.
• Assist team leads in ensuring policies are implemented effectively and aligned with best practices.
• Help monitor compliance with Charity Commission regulations and the Fundraising Code of Conduct.

Embedding a Governance Culture

• Assist in raising awareness of governance principles across the organisation.
• Support the Governance Lead in organising training sessions or briefings on governance best practices.
• Help integrate governance principles into the organisation’s operations and decision-making processes.

SHELTERBOX IS LOOKING TO RECRUIT 2 NEW TRUSTEES TO JOIN OUR BOARD.

Position Type: Voluntary - The position of Trustee is unpaid

However, all reasonable out-of-pocket expenses incurred on charity business will be reimbursed in line with our Expenses Policy.

Time Commitment: Around 12 - 15 days per year

The Board meets four times year. Two of these meetings are in London or Truro (Cornwall) and two of the meetings are online. Trustees are also encouraged to be a member of one of three committees which meet quarterly for two hours online via Microsoft Teams. There is also an annual two-day Board retreat, which is held in person and is combined with a Board meeting.

Attendance: In person and online

Trustees may also be invited to attend occasional fundraising or networking events.

Term of Appointment: Trustees are appointed for a three-year term, which may be renewed at the end of the term. Trustees cannot serve more than three terms (nine years).

Historically, the organisation’s financial resources have surged in line with high profile disasters and public response. Therefore, it is vital that we continue to build strategies that focus on developing predictable funding growth and ensure we have a sustainable and diverse income profile globally.

Role Purpose:

Trustees are responsible under the governing documents of ShelterBox for the governance of the charity.

Upon appointment you will be provided with all applicable governance documents. Management and administration are delegated to the CEO and staff of the organisation.

KIPAWA DREAMS INITIATIVES

Kipawa Dreams Initiatives (K-DI) is a women-led Organization. Our mission is to empower youth, especially girls and women, by equipping them with the knowledge and opportunities to foster sustainable communities through extensive education, health, and technology-related initiatives. At K-DI, we prioritize tackling significant challenges in education and health, particularly for marginalized youth. We focus specifically on women and children aged 10 - 25. Our strategy is built on collaborating with local stakeholders, governments, and development partners, which allows us to create community-driven solutions and enhance capacity within our communities.

KIPAWA Dreams addresses the intertwined social and environmental challenges facing youth in rural Tanzania, including poor mental health awareness, cultural stigma, gender inequality, and lack of supportive spaces. Many young people struggle in silence with trauma, anxiety, or abuse, worsened by poverty and harmful norms. Girls are especially vulnerable due to early marriage, menstrual stigma, and limited educational access. The organization empowers young people to heal, lead, and drive change within their schools, families, and communities.

KIPAWA Dreams tackles mental health stigma, gender inequality, and youth marginalization through culturally rooted, community-driven solutions. You’ll take a lead role at events on the day and inspire your fellow volunteers to get involved.

Role Summary.

As a QA Reviewer at Roots Academy, you'll work closely with Regional Leads and the QA team to help maintain and raise the quality of teaching across our programmes. Your role is to support our instructors by regularly observing lessons, offering constructive feedback, and encouraging their continued growth and development.

Your input will help ensure that students benefit from lessons that are clear, engaging, and rooted in sound educational practice.

Key tasks

· Observe lessons via site visits or submitted video recordings throughout the semester.

· Use standardised forms to assess lesson quality and highlight key strengths and areas that could be improved.

· Offer honest and practical feedback, using real examples to guide instructors toward better practice.

· Work alongside Regional Leads to deliver feedback at set points in the semester and support instructor development conversations.

· Attend feedback meetings and take notes to track progress and follow-up actions.

· Recommend helpful activities for instructors, such as shadowing experienced colleagues, team teaching, or reviewing their own lessons.

· Keep track of instructors needing additional support by scheduling follow-up visits or reviewing new lesson recordings.

· Make sure feedback is received, understood, and followed up with clear next steps.

· Raise any serious concerns or ongoing issues with the Regional Lead or relevant team members.

· Background in teaching, mentoring, or classroom observation.

· A supportive but honest approach to giving feedback.

· Good understanding of what makes a lesson effective and engaging.

· Confident communicator with good organisation skills.

· Able to work both independently and as part of a wider team.

· Respectful of diverse backgrounds and familiar with Islamic learning settings.

Mental Health & Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) Advisor (Volunteer).

Volunteer Role Description (remote, unpaid)

KDI is seeking a mental health professional to enhance the technical quality of our Mental Health Awareness and Education Campaigns, as well as our Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) training and youth-led support clubs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review and guide MHFA training materials.
• Support the establishment of referral pathways and trauma-informed practices.
• Assist in the development of school-based psychosocial activities.
• Contribute to parent engagement and facilitate community dialogues.

Ideal Candidate:

• A background in mental health, such as psychology, counseling, or social work.
• A passion for community-based and youth-focused interventions.
• Familiarity with delivering mental health services in low-resource or rural settings.
