As a new trustee, you will be welcomed by the Board in to this exciting and fulfilling voluntary role and be encouraged to contribute ideas and decisions, and sparing a few hours each month. We meet every two months in Bath (with the option to join remotely usually) to review progress against our strategy, current activities, new initiatives as well as our financial health and development plans. Occasionally, individual trustees attend rehearsals, workshops and meet within thematic sub-groups and we ask that trustees commit to attending meetings and occasional concerts and events.
About you
We are seeking Trustees who have an interest in orchestral music and are willing to take the lead, supporting the General Manager and executive team, in particular:
- Fundraising and development: to help develop our fundraising strategy with experience in fundraising from diverse sources private donors, trusts foundations and public funding to corporate partners, social impact investment and philanthropy.
- HR including EDI: to further develop and embed our Equity, Diversity and Inclusion policy, along with our other HR policies.
- Branding, Marketing and PR: to strengthen our existing expertise, bringing new insights, networks and ideas to promote our activities.
We also welcome people with
- Experience of working within an arts (or arts marketing) organisation: to provide contextual knowledge of the sector and understanding of arts business models.
About Bath Phil
Bath Philharmonia is a professional orchestra based in Bath and touring South West England. We reach over 12,000 people each year (including 4,500 free gifted tickets to local audiences to encourage them to discover a live orchestra for the first time). through a combination of concerts and projects in communities, with a specialism in working with young carers to help them build personal confidence and supportive relationships through making and performing their own music.
Celebrating its 25th Anniversary this year, 2025, and winner of The Federation of Small Business (FSB) Community Award for the South West 2024 and Bath Life Arts & Creative Award 2024, the orchestra is on an exciting journey. A recent highlight has been the release of our Christmas single Love is Enough composed and sung by Young Carers which reached #37 in the charts. The impact of our decade-long project with young carers was shortlisted for a prestigious Royal Philharmonic Society Award – the BAFTAs of the classical music world.

The Chair will hold the Board and staff team to account for SMK’s mission and vision, provide inclusive leadership to the Board and ensure that Board members fulfil their duties and responsibilities for the effective governance of SMK. The Chair will line manage and support the Chief Executive and ensure that the Board functions as a unit and works closely with the Chief Executive and staff team to achieve agreed objectives. They may also be asked to act as an ambassador and a public face of SMK in partnership with the Chief Executive and the Board.

ICOM UK is seeking a Finance Lead trustee to help us deliver our new strategy to support UK museums working internationally and connect members to the global museum community.
The trustee role will maintain strategic oversight of ICOM UK’s financial position and of the conduct of its financial affairs such that they provide well-grounded advice to the Board of Trustees.
The trustee role requires experience and skills in financial governance, planning and management, preferably in a charity and/or company, along with the ability to understand and communicate the impact of decisions on the organisation’s finances.

3ST is the alliance of the voluntary and community sector across North West London's Integrated Care Board (ICB) region. We support the voluntary, community, and social enterprise (VCSE) sector in influencing and engaging with our health system while supporting the delivery of meaningful services. The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced professional to join our Board of Trustees, bringing expertise in one or more of the following areas:

Key Responsibilities
1. Governance
· Ensure the charity is carrying out its purposes for the public benefit.
· Safeguard the charity’s reputation, values, and mission.
· Ensure compliance with the Charity Commission’s regulations, the charity’s governing document, and relevant UK laws.
· Support the development and monitoring of organisational policies and procedures
2. Strategic Oversight
· Contribute to the strategic direction of 3ST, ensuring alignment with our mission and values
· Monitor the implementation and effectiveness of agreed strategies and objectives.
· Guide the development of procurement and contract management processes
3. Financial Management
· Approve budgets and ensure proper financial oversight, including adherence to charity accounting standards.
· Ensure the charity has sufficient resources to operate sustainably and responsibly.
· Assess and manage financial risks appropriately.
4. Risk Management
· Identify and evaluate potential risks, ensuring appropriate measures are in place to mitigate them.
· Maintain safeguarding practices to protect beneficiaries, staff, and the reputation of the charity.
5. Legal Compliance
· Ensure the charity meets its legal and regulatory requirements, including filing annual returns and accounts.
· Ensure adherence to data protection and equality legislation.
6. Advocacy and Representation
· Act as an ambassador for the charity, fostering positive relationships with key stakeholders and partners
· Uphold and actively promote the charity’s values and aims.
· Support the Alliance's representation and influencing work across the health system
· Champion the role of the VCSE sector in addressing health inequalities

Person Specification
Essential Experience and Skills
· Senior-level experience in either finance, procurement, or governance within the public, private, or voluntary sector
· Understanding of charity governance and trustee responsibilities
· Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
· Experience in strategic planning and risk management
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
· An understanding of or connection with North West London.
Desirable Experience
· Knowledge of the health and social care landscape in North West London
· Understanding of integrated care systems and NHS structures
· Previous board or trustee experience
Personal Qualities
· Commitment to reducing health inequalities and improving community wellbeing
· Strong ethical principles and commitment to public service

Remuneration
This is a voluntary position. Reasonable expenses will be reimbursed according to our trustee expenses policy.
