We are thrilled to welcome a Video Editor at a pivotal time for our charity. After a challenging period of inactivity due to the impacts of Covid, we are excited to embark on a new chapter, as we are ready to restart our activities in 2025 and to develop our projects and create a positive impact in our community.

Helping us better respond to the needs of the people accessing our services. • Is fluent in English and Tigrinya and/or Amharic and can translate and interpret between them

We are looking for passionate and creative volunteers to bring joy and engagement to our Support Circle Group, a community space for individuals living with chronic and long-term illnesses. The Support Circle Group provides a safe and welcoming environment where participants can connect and share experiences. As part of our sessions, we would love to introduce creative activities to uplift and inspire our members.

Some proposed activity areas we can consider:

 Music – Singers, musicians, or who can bring live music.
Arts & Crafts – Simple and accessible creative activities for self-expression.
Games & Activities – Light hearted, inclusive, and interactive fun.
Other Creative Talents – Poetry, storytelling, or any other engaging ideas.

The volunteering activity:

We will need support with;

-  Participating in a briefing meeting with the service to further explore your proposed activity in your volunteering application
- Clarify practical support needs from the team for the activity to take place e.g. venue set up
- Facilitate your chosen and agreed volunteering activity session you’d like to offer
- Consider formal risk assessments with the support of your Trust point of contact for safe and effective delivery of activities

Considerations

We do not have resources to provide materials, but the goal is simply to spark interest and engagement. The activity will serve as a light and enjoyable way for participants to connect, express themselves, and find joy at the end of each session. Consider keeping activities simple but meaningful and rewarding for patients e.g. origami is fun and interactive whilst requiring very little material resource. Sessions last for 30 minutes, another reason why simple ideas will work. We are happy to discuss your initial ideas to align them to group goals too upon applying (no idea is a bad idea).

What is involved 

This is considered a full-time volunteer role. The brood will live with you from approximately 14-18 months of age until retirement.

• With guidance support and advice from our breeding team maintain the broods health and welfare, including maintaining a good weight and fitness level along with basic training and general obedience. 

• Be available for and attend training sessions within the working week that will involve:

• home visits 

• virtual online training

• one-to-ones 

• Be available to take the brood for essential veterinary visits as required. 

• The brood will have approximately two seasons per year and will stay at home during her season. Advice on management or any veterinary visits required during the season, will be given by our breeding team. 

• The brood will have one litter per year from the age of two, up to a maximum of four litters. Each litter will be born within the home and the puppies will remain with the brood until they are approximately eight weeks old and ready to go to their puppy parents (plenty of opportunities for puppy cuddles). Full support, guidance and training will be provided by our breeding team throughout the broods’ mating season, pregnancy, whelping and litter. Equipment for the litter is provided. 

• Whilst the brood has a litter – we ask that pet dogs have restricted exercise (full information and guidance is given by the breeding team). This measure is to minimise the risk of infection to the litter. 

• The dog breeding volunteer will have updates throughout each litters training.

What we require from you 

• The primary dog breeding volunteer must be 18 years or over 

• Have a dog friendly secure garden

• Be at home for most of the day and ideally live within one hour of LE12 9SR 

• Though desirable, prior dog ownership is not required 

• If you are a dog owner, you cannot have an entire male dog. Maximum of three pet dogs which will be assessed on a case-by-case basis considering the size of pet dogs, along with available space within in the property. Any pet dogs will be assessed as part of the home assessment.

• Time and stamina to provide the brood with a minimum of one hour's exercise per day (this can be completed in one or multiple walks). 

• Time to provide training sessions to maintain basic obedience. 

• Access to own transport to travel the brood on essential journeys such as veterinary appointments and pre-mating tests as required. 

• Have time and stamina to devote to the brood and her litter. The brood cannot be routinely left for more than four hours in a day. 

• Have space within the home for the brood and her litter. 

Support and Training 

• Induction process which includes submitting of application, telephone interview, home visit, training and handling sessions. 

• Each volunteer is allocated a member of the Canine Partners breeding team as their first point of contact. 

• Receive regular training, resources and other important information via your trainer; this may be in the format of physical copies, digital or in person. 

• All equipment for the litter is provided. 

• Our breeding team will offer continued support throughout the pregnancy and litter.

Role Summary

To transport patients to the Hospice at times specified by the Transport Co-ordinator, ensuring a safe and comfortable journey.  Using your own vehicle, you could collect a patient from their own home or their nursing or residential home, to their appropriate destinations which could be one of our Wellbeing group sessions, our Clinical Outpatients for an appointment or our In-Patient Unit 

Time Commitment

We are looking for a commitment of ideally one day a week for around 4 hours.   This could be either a morning or afternoon shift. The times needed can vary though and flexible availability would be very helpful.

What will I be doing?

• To transport St. Luke’s guests using drivers’ own vehicles, to and from the hospice, or occasionally – other specified journeys under guidance of the Transport team
• Read and understand guidance notes issued with attached Volunteer Driver’s pack
• The identified Transport team will liaise with drivers to arrange transport for patients attending Therapies and Wellbeing groups specifying collection and return trip times
• Liaise with the group leaders regarding all patient related matters
• Maintain up to date records in relation to mileage claims and submit those claims at the end of each month using patients’ initials only
• Attend meetings and training organised for all drivers
• Maintain confidentiality and data protection at all times
• Attending to patient needs and providing maximum attention to their mobility, health, safety and comfort
• Follow drivers’ guidelines, but adapt to unforeseen circumstances
• Liaise with Transport team to inform of general availability/holidays, to arrange weekly drives, to check on any changes
• Be aware of guests’ emotional, social and spiritual needs, being empathetic, observant and report to nursing staff, when appropriate
• Liaise with the Transport team and nursing staff on any concerns or information relevant to the guests’ care and well-being
• Ensure all practice, keeping of information and contact with guests and staff within the hospice code of confidentiality
• Keep an accurate record of mileage – being aware of hospice finances when using a route, which is of maximum comfort to guests, but also economical to the hospice

Experience/Qualifications/Skills

• You will need a full and clean driving licence (a code is required from DVLA for checks to be done)
• Proof of insurance and MOT is required annually
• You will be in good health and have a responsible, reliable and mature attitude

As our Volunteer Healthy Living Programme Manager, you will:

• Inspire Wellness: Design and deliver engaging programmes that promote fitness, nutrition, mental health, and overall well-being, ensuring our young people have the tools to live healthier, happier lives.

• Forge Community Partnerships: Build alliances with local gyms, nutritionists, health professionals, and wellness centres to create accessible opportunities that speak directly to the needs of the community.

• Champion Mental and Emotional Health: Develop initiatives such as mindfulness workshops, stress management sessions, and mental health awareness events that support emotional resilience and balance.

• Drive Innovation in Health Education: Create interactive workshops, fitness challenges, and resourceful tools that make healthy living not only informative but also fun and transformative.

• Cultivate a Supportive Environment: Work hand-in-hand with our team to integrate healthy living strategies into REMIX’s broader mission, fostering a culture where every participant feels empowered to act on their well-being.

Across the UK, our 270 local groups play a vital part in supporting people affected by MS. They provide sense of belonging, unity and friendship. And they deliver services and support for their local MS community.

We are looking to recruit a Fundraising Volunteer for the Richmond and Kingston Group. As our Fundraising Volunteer you’ll support your Group Coordinator to organise local fundraising activities and events throughout the year.

In this role you’ll be able to develop your organisation, communication and team working skills.Most importantly you’ll inspire your local community to raise funds that help make sure no one has to face MS alone.

Time Commitment

We estimate this role will need around 2 hours a week. Our roles are flexible and aim to fit around you. Time commitments for this role may vary depending on your activities. This is an ongoing role.
