We are seeking a Human Resources lead to support our charity in developing and managing our HR strategy, policies and processes.
Watford and Three Rivers Refugee Partnership (WTRRP) provides practical and emotional support, advice and befriending to refugees, migrants and people seeking asylum living in the Watford and Three Rivers area. We are a growing charity serving an increasing number of clients. We have been able to secure some funding which has enabled us to be able to employ three members of staff, one Full time Caseworker, a part time Office Manager and a part time Volunteer Coordinator. We are based in St. Mary’s Church, Watford in the heart of the City Centre.
What are we looking for?
We are looking for someone with the passion and drive for Human Resources, who will play a key role in shaping our HR policies and practice, supporting our team, and ensuring a positive and effective work environment. As well as paid staff, we have a pool of dedicated volunteers that support the charity and there will be some policies that will need reviewing that apply to both staff and volunteers.
Key Responsibilities
· Develop HR policies and procedures aligned with best practice
· Guide the Trustees on performance management and development
· Provide guidance on employment law, contracts and HR compliance
· Foster a positive and productive culture within our Charity
· Be part of a team to resolve issues with staff and volunteers using clear processes
· Become a Trustee of the Charity and attend meetings which are held in the evenings in Watford
Who We’re Looking For
· HR experience (manager level desirable)
· Knowledge of HR policies, employment law, and best practice
· Ability to adapt to the context of the Charity, and working with volunteers
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team
· Someone who is interested in supporting the Charity grow and develop
Time Commitment
The hours would vary and initially may be more whilst our policies are developed and reviewed.
3-5 hours a week.
Committee meetings are on varying weekday evenings, currently 6 per year.

Development: We rely on support from foundations, key donors and the public, and as Chair, you will be an important representative of the organisation, working with the CEO and other Trustees to build and maintain strong relationships.
Advocacy: Sophie Hayes Foundation is working to improve understanding of the Modern Slavery sector, enhance understanding of the issues, build recognition of the impact of our programmes and influence key decision makers. As Chair, along with other Trustees, you may be called on to assist the CEO with advocacy and to build our brand.
Commitment: We have a bold vision to increase our impact through a combination of direct programming with survivors and through advocacy to build awareness and support. We are looking for volunteers interested in working with young asylum seekers and refugees to support our weekly youth club in Croydon, ‘Merhaba’. Merhaba Youth Club is a safe space where 18-25 year old refugees and asylum seekers living in contingency accommodation can come to socialise with their peers, develop friendships, build a better understanding of their rights and entitlements, gain new skills and access 1:1 support.
The club runs on Tuesdays, 2.30-5.30pm, and we ask that you come to Merhaba at least three times each month and attend the whole session. The role involves supporting staff to set up and deliver activities – including 1:1 English and games – as well as administrative support.

Role Description:
The Safe Space is a local hub for anyone who feels they are nearing crisis point. We are here to listen to what you need and work with you to help. These might be strategies to help you cope in the moment, a range of activities that we provide free of charge, resources to take away or connect you with practical local services. Time commitment and expenses:

Your Role as a Mentor

Urban Youth, a brand-new youth work charity, is on a mission to create a positive, inclusive community for young Londoners. We're seeking Trustees to help us get set up, registered, and ready to empower young people across the city.
