Our Stop MS Champions help us reach more people and inspire them to get involved in our Stop MS Appeal by encouraging raising funds and awareness by delivering presentations, attending events and identifying new audiences to speak to. They inspire people to engage with and influence fundraisers and groups, enthuse people and make sure our community’s voice is heard.

As our Lead Stop MS Champion, you’ll motivate your team of Stop MS Champions to help reach more people and inspire them to get involved in our Stop MS Appeal.

By using your ability to motivate and support, you will oversee and lead a team of 5-10 Stop MS Champion volunteers, encouraging them to engage the people they know to raise funds and awareness, and provide reliable information and guidance.

About the Cycle Responder role

St John Ambulance has operated Cycle Response Units for more than 15 years having invested significantly in state of the art equipment and helping to establish public safety cycling across the UK emergency services. CRU has become a key response asset for St John Ambulance at major events (e.g. marathons, parades and significant national occasions) as well as smaller community based events, often being the first resource on scene. Being part of a CRU is an exciting way to give back, and suited to someone who has the time, energy and passion to learn new skills whilst on ‘the job’.

Getting started

We are advertising for cycle responders across different locations in the North West. Interviewing and recruitment will take place across the region, as required by applications/demand. Course will be run during the spring of 2025 across our pre-identified locations.

As a specialist function, volunteers are asked to consider that beyond any local events which will be advertised to them, a number of larger deployments and out-of-area events are included as part of the role. We also ask candidates to consider that this role does expect them to already be comfortable in their cycling skills and preferably regularly cycling in their day-to-day life across different road conditions/surfaces. Training for role will revolve around aspects of group riding and SJA-specific ways of working.

There will be an interview, in person, comprising of a discussion around candidate's motivations and cycling skills. Successful candidates will be shortlisted and offered a place on the next available course.

Women’s Aid Luton supports over 800 of society's most vulnerable women and children each year, helping them escape horrific abuse and violence. We provide a safe haven across our five refuges in Luton, operate a helpline, and offer bespoke assistance for families. Our services include access to legal advice, mental health support, employment assistance, and resettlement aid.

We also have a refuge for single women with complex support needs, such as mental health issues and drug and alcohol dependencies, often stemming from the trauma of domestic violence and abuse.

TERMS OF APPOINTMENT

The initial appointment is for a three-year term but can be extended for one further term for a maximum of six years.

Due to the sensitive nature of this role, we will be considering female volunteers only for this post in accordance with the provisions of the Occupational Requirement (Equality Act 2010, pursuant to schedule 9 part 1). Applicants will be required to have a satisfactory enhanced disclosure through the Disclosure and Barring Service.

Came to Believe Recovery UK (CTBR UK) is a not-for-profit organisation helping people break free from addiction through immersive residential retreats and online support. We’re looking for new trustees to join our team and help us build our organisation and reach.

Who We Are

CTBR UK runs non-clinical retreats and meetings for people recovering from all forms of addiction. Our programme is built around the 12 Steps and spiritual principles, delivered in a supportive, welcoming and down-to-earth way, where all are welcome regardless of beliefs or faith.

We’ve supported hundreds of people on their journey toward  freedom — and we’re just getting started.

We’re currently preparing to register as a  charity, with big plans to:

• Grow our support across England and Wales
• Build long-term sustainability through funding and partnerships
• Strengthen our governance and accountability as we scale
• Keep our retreats open, accessible, and inclusive for all

Who We’re Looking For

You don’t need to have been a trustee before – although prior experience is welcome. We're especially interested in people with skills in any of the following areas:

• Business, operations or charity leadership
• Finance or bookkeeping
• Fundraising, bid writing or donor development
• Legal expertise (especially charity or contract law)
• HR or volunteer coordination

If you're organised, thoughtful, and comfortable working as part of a small remote team, you'll fit right in. We're also keen to hear from people who have worked in community support, health and wellbeing, or have experience working with vulnerable adults in third-sector projects.

What You’ll Do as a Trustee

As a trustee, you’ll help guide the direction of CTBR UK as we continue to grow. You’ll:

• Help shape our future plans, activities and strategy
• Offer support and oversight to ensure we stay on track and legally compliant
• Use your skills and voice to improve what we do
• Work alongside our small, motivated, and friendly team

We meet a minimum of quarterly online and keep in touch where appropriate between meetings. There’s no fundraising requirement or large time commitment.

About the Hawk and Owl Trust
The Hawk and Owl Trust is a national UK charity (registration no. 1058565), established in 1969, committed to the conservation of owls and birds of prey in their natural habitats. The charity works to protect these species through practical research, habitat creation and management, public education, and outreach.

The Trust develops and maintains nesting and roosting sites, advises on feeding habitats, and welcomes visitors to its nature reserves in Norfolk and Somerset. It also runs education centres and outreach initiatives designed to foster greater public understanding and appreciation of raptors and their ecosystems.

Chair of the Board of Trustees

Purpose of the Role
The Chair will provide strategic and inclusive leadership to the Board of Trustees, the Chief Operating Director, and the wider team of staff and volunteers. The role is instrumental in ensuring that the charity remains focused on its mission and vision, and that governance is effective, collaborative, and forward-thinking.

Working closely with the Chief Operating Director, the Chair will help strengthen internal relationships, support strategic delivery, and serve as a key ambassador for the Trust, representing the organisation externally with professionalism and enthusiasm.

Key Skills and Experience

• Demonstrated senior leadership experience, ideally with a governance or non-executive background

• Strong interpersonal and communication capabilities

• Sound understanding of charity governance and trustee responsibilities

• A clear commitment to and passion for wildlife and environmental conservation

Principal Responsibilities
The Chair will:

• Provide strategic leadership to ensure the charity maximises its impact in protecting birds of prey

• Guide the Board in fulfilling its governance duties, including oversight of risk, performance, and financial sustainability

• Champion best practice in governance, fostering a culture of integrity and transparency

• Support and appraise the Chief Operating Director, building a strong and effective working partnership

• Encourage Board development, succession planning, and a balanced skills matrix across trustees

• Lead conflict resolution, promote constructive challenge, and ensure decisions are made in the charity’s best interest

• Represent the organisation in public, media, and stakeholder engagements as appropriate

Location

• Administrative base: Sculthorpe, Fakenham, Norfolk

• Flexible and remote-friendly, with most Board meetings held virtually

• Some in-person attendance required in Sculthorpe (Norfolk), Shapwick (Somerset), or London

Remuneration

• This is a voluntary role

• All reasonable travel and out-of-pocket expenses will be reimbursed

Time Commitment

• Approximately 1–2 days per month

• Attendance at 4–5 Board meetings annually (a combination of virtual and in-person)

• Optional participation in up to two subcommittees (each meeting quarterly)

• Additional time as needed to represent the Trust at events, media opportunities, or stakeholder meetings

Term of Appointment
The Chair will serve a three-year term, with the option to be reappointed for one additional term.
