Human Resource Division you will be learning to process applicants from around the world,
assigning them to appropriate Teams and coordinating the Team Leads training sessions and
monthly meetings. While English is required, you will learn to be comfortable with various global
accents as well as proficient in your Interviewing skills and background research. You will
practice team organizing & management skills. Depending on which teams you join, you will
learn non profit contracts, global time zone coordination and other very basic, practical skills
when working with people Internationally and online.
IHF Overview
The International Humanity Foundation (IHF) is a 501 c3 International Non- profit, founded in
2001. Our two-fold mission is (1) to Educate marginalized children—activating their highest
potential and nurturing healthy, loving communities around them. The happiness of our worlds
children rises above all political and religious differences; And equates to the quality of our
worlds happiness tomorrow. — (2) to Educate global citizens through communication and real
life experiences, (online and in person), about the realities of marginalized communities; while
teaching practical skills in aiding needed efforts, thus giving voice to the voiceless.
For over twenty years, IHF has offered children and adults (from young through retirement)
venues for learning and safely practicing leadership skills.
IHF is a unique organization. It believes in absolute transparency and functions almost
entirely through the efforts of its hundreds of unpaid volunteers from all over the world. Our
volunteers give their time, skills, energy, and love, working toward a better world for all, one
child, one human, at a time. We believe caring, quiet growth produces deep healthy roots.

Volunteer Mystery Shopper – can you help?
The Hospice Lottery Partnership runs a weekly lottery in support of local charities such as: Florence Nightingale Hospice Charity in Aylesbury, Michael Sobell Hospice Charity in Northwood, Rennie Grove Hospice Care in Buckinghamshire and West Hertfordshire, South Bucks Hospice in High Wycombe, and The Hospice of St Francis in Berkhamsted.
Mystery shopping is a form of market research work, that requires an individual to play the role of a genuine customer and report their experience back to us.
We are looking for someone with a good level of literacy and a great memory that could spare a few hours a week visiting our Fundraisers at local retail stores and medical centres to provide feedback on a Fundraisers performance and the overall perception of the experience. In essence, how you would rate the service you received during your experience?
“I volunteer with The Hospice Lottery; I always have a few hours spare each week and it’s lovely to feel that I am helping such a worthy cause.” Diana Hewitt, Office Volunteer.
Writer roles at the Bylines Network
The Bylines Network is a not-for-profit citizen journalism organisation. It has eight regionally-based publications in England, one in Scotland and one in Wales.
The Network has ongoing opportunities for writers. If you would like the opportunity to publish articles on subjects that matter to you, or if you’re keen to develop your skills with a view to breaking into professional journalism, we would love to hear from you.
While your choice of subject matter is up to you, we also commission pieces on issues of local, national and international importance, so if you would like to explore this type of writing, let us know. We have a range of courses and educational materials available to help you learn how professional journalists operate. We will introduce you to an editor who will work with you to help make your writing the best it can be.
The only articles we won’t consider publishing are those that are defamatory or attack members of particular groups. We have progressive values and want to contribute to levelling the playing field in the UK media, so we particularly encourage applications from members of under-represented groups. If you have something to say but writing is difficult for you because of a disability or lack of education, let us know and we will do our best to help. We believe that your voice deserves to be heard.
We work online, with groups you can join if you want to engage with members of the wider team. We don’t require any specific commitment in terms of hours and you can work out a schedule that suits you with you editor-in-chief. We have a dedicated social media team to help promote your work. We are a volunteer-led organisation and always welcome new ideas.

Keeping in regular contact with our members to check on their wellbeing is one of our key services.
Our Wellbeing Volunteers contact a range of different members every week to make a friendly 'check in' call and have a chat. During these calls, you'll provide the opportunity for our members to talk, offer friendly support and make them aware of the Deafblind UK services available to them.
Whatever the conversation you’ll be making a positive difference!
This is a home based role so you don't need to be 'local' and you don’t need experience to become one of our Wellbeing Volunteers. The majority of our members communicate with clear speech so no specialised skills or knowledge is required. You just need to be comfortable chatting over the phone and be able to commit to a regular weekly time slot to make calls to our members. Some knowledge or experience of sight and or hearing loss would be an advantage in this particular role and confidence in speaking with people of all ages and backgrounds.
We provide full training and ongoing support in this role and ask for a minimum commitment of three months.
We require you to have Wifi and access to a PC, tablet or mobile device. This is to allow you to complete training, have access to the Deafblind UK phone system and to submit online contact logs.
Volunteering with our charity is special because you get to hear first-hand the difference you make to people’s lives. Click on 'apply' and make a difference today!

At Staying Well we run a Telephone Befriending Scheme.
If you have up to an hour free once a week for 6 months then this could be the volunteer role for you!
This is what the Befriending Network say about befriending:
“Everyone needs other people, but not everyone has someone.
Befriending offers supportive, reliable relationships through volunteer befrienders to people who would otherwise be socially isolated. Around the UK, there are befriending projects which organise effective support for children and young people, families, people with mental ill-health, people with learning disabilities and older people, amongst many others.
The results of befriending can be very significant. Befriending often provides people with a new direction in life, opens up a range of activities and leads to increased self-esteem and self confidence. Befriending can also reduce the burden on other services which people may use inappropriately as they seek social contact.”
The client requests no contact from agencies or media sales.

Every community across the UK deserves equitable access to trees and the benefits they bring; from reducing air and noise pollution, alleviating stress and anxiety, making our neighbourhoods more attractive places to live and work, and boosting local ecosystems. However, while some urban areas enjoy abundant greenery and tree cover, others lack these essential natural assets. Our new Tree Equity Score tool, developed in partnership with American Forests, has been developed to help us understand where disparities in urban tree cover lie.
Now we need your help to collect data from remote urban areas across Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland to complete our map of tree equity across the UK. Between February – May 2024, we need your help to complete over 500 tree canopy cover assessments. Do as many or as few as you like, pick any available location from our list, and complete the assessment at a time that suits you - they only take around 1.5 hours to complete. Send us your findings by the end of this project and we will add them to our database. No specialist technical knowledge is needed and guidance is provided.
This is a 'Drop-in-Days' volunteering opportunity for people that lead busy lives, or that just want to volunteer ad-hoc or for a one-off event or project. Registering to take part in this project will provide you with access to our volunteer news and we will let you know about other volunteering opportunities in your area for up to to 12 months after the initial event. You can opt out anytime.
