Purpose of the Role

This volunteer role is a key part of the HFEH Mind team delivering a range of services across Hammersmith and Fulham, Ealing and Hounslow. We support clients with mental health with both clinical and non-clinical interventions.

To enhance the Safe Space service provision as experts by experience, supporting service users and their peers on their recovery journey.

Main Responsibilities

To work closely with the HFEH Mind Safe Space team in supporting, encouraging and motivating the people that attend our services in their mental health recovery journey. Utilising their knowledge gained through lived experience and promoting recovery through visual recovery

Tasks

· Signpost Safe Space attendees to appropriate support services

· Supporting with Self Referrals to community support services

· Promote recovery by means of visible recovery

· Promote mental health and applicable community services

· Utilise listening and communication skills to support individuals attending the Safe Space Service

· Conduct follow-up calls and face-to-face appointments supporting the recovery journey

· Assist with the completion of recovery plans

· Motivate and encourage community engagement

· Support with the development and updating of borough resources and asset mapping

· Co-facilitate with psycho-educational or informational groups

· Support service users with paperwork

General Responsibilities

• Attend and conduct required training in line with company guidelines

• Attend monthly supervisions as agreed with supervisor

• Contribute ideas and feedback to improve service provision

• Abide by company policies and procedures

• Undertake any other duties commensurate with the level of the role.

· Knowledge and understanding of issues facing someone with a Mental Health illness/disability

· Knowledge and understanding of issues facing someone with a other support needs/services e.g. substance misuse, domestic abuse, debt, homelessness

· Knowledge of the borough and support available

· MS office proficient

· Experience/ knowledge of the Health and Social Care Sector

Time commitment and expenses:

· Minimum of 8 hours per week during (our core hours of 2PM – 10PM. )

· We request a minimum commitment of 6 months of volunteering after the completion of your induction.

• Signing up gift aid donors

• Identifying special or valuable items within donated stock

Volunteering in the shop

Our Holywood, Belfast Shop Volunteers are in the middle of it all, and there’s plenty to get involved with. You might be sorting and pricing stock, engaging with customers, ringing items through the till, creating fantastic window displays or keeping our shop floor looking organised.

It’s up to you how much you commit. We have volunteers who support for a couple of hours a week and some do more. Many people volunteer either a morning or an afternoon each week - this is something that will be discussed at the selection stage, after you’ve applied.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for reliable and hands-on volunteers to support the organisation and running of our annual Festival of Trees event! Christmas is a crucial time of year for the NSPCC and this event is a magical way to bring people together, promote the importance of the work that we do and of course raise vital funds for those who need it most.

What will you be doing?

The key responsibilities of this role include: decorating Christmas trees, tidying and sorting event spaces before, during and after the event, moving equipment and materials, undecorating and packing away items, organising storage cupboards, and overall just ensuring that things run in a smooth and efficient manner. If you are a creative and organised Christmas fan, then this could be the perfect role for you!

How regular is the volunteering?

The work for this role will be done in the run up to Christmas, and within the first couple of weeks of the new year. We will require your help on a few specific days during this time period (yet to be decided), and these will usually be weekdays. You will be given details of the specific dates/times with plenty of notice and we will do our best to work around the availability of all the volunteers! There is no requirement for you to be available for every single one, so if you just have the occasional day available to support us, then this will be absolutely fine.

A bit about this role

As a charity we can continue to help cats and kittens in need thanks to the donations we receive at fundraising events from generous members of the public. Our fundraising event helpers have the exciting and varied role of helping at local fundraising events - such as cakes sales, barn dances, quiz nights – and everything in between!

We’ll keep you up to date with upcoming local events where volunteers are needed. You’ll then be able to choose which events you’d like to volunteer at and how many hours you’d like to give. However much time you can give, your contribution will help raise much needed funds to continue the work of Cats Protection.

Overview

Are you practical, hands-on and enjoy getting stuck in?

Our Scarborough Community Furniture Store receives large amounts of donated furniture, which needs moving on a daily basis, including loading and unloading our delivery vans and arranging the store, as well as small scale furniture assembly and repair. We are looking for volunteers in our stores to support these operations.

We are currently looking for warehouse volunteers to assist on a Monday, Friday and Saturday. This is a flexible role designed to meet you where you're at and you will be joining a supportive charity team.

Responsibilities of the Role:

• Moving furniture around our stores and warehouse
• Unloading & loading vans
• Cleaning and preparing donated furniture to be sold
• Furniture assembly (usually beds)
• Minor repairs where needed (supervised and supported)
• Interacting with customers in the store in a positive, polite and helpful manner

Skills required:

• You will need to communicate well with the rest of the store team
• Being a positive, polite, and helpful representative of the store to customers, ready to help them out when needed
• You need to be able to lift and move furniture - although we will never ask you to lift anything you are uncomfortable with and will provide full manual handling training
• If you have skills in carpentry, furniture repair and assembly, this is a bonus, but not a requirement of the role.

Mae pob plentyndod yn werth brwydro drosto. Rydyn ni'n credu hynny'n gryf. Bob un ohonom. Ac mae hynny'n ein hannog ni i fynd allan i gymunedau i godi'r arian sydd ei angen arnom i amddiffyn plant ac atal camdriniaeth.

Ydych chi...

• … yn frwd dros helpu plant a phobl ifanc? 

Os felly, efallai mai chi yw'r union berson sydd ei angen arnom i godi arian hanfodol i gefnogi gwaith NSPCC Cymru, fel gwirfoddolwr blychau casglu.

Cewch weithio yn eich cymuned leol i ddarparu blychau casglu, cofnodi a monitro cyfraniadau, a diolch i fusnesau am eu cefnogaeth.

• Pwynt cyswllt dynodedig yn ein tîm cymunedol
• Cefnogaeth gennym ni – gyda'r wybodaeth, yr adnoddau a'r hyfforddiant iawn
• Bod yn rhan o NSPCC Cymru a'n cenhadaeth i roi terfyn ar greulondeb at blant
• Cwrdd â phobl o'r un anian a mwynhau profiadau newydd
• Mynediad i'r Porth Gwirfoddolwyr gyda chyfleoedd hyfforddi a dysgu
• Cylchlythyr Gwirfoddolwyr

Daw tua 80% o'n hincwm gan y cyhoedd a fydden ni ddim yn gallu gwneud ein gwaith hebddyn nhw. Byddech chi fel gwirfoddolwr codi arian yn ein helpu i godi arian ac i godi ymwybyddiaeth o'n gwaith hollbwysig yn cefnogi cymunedau ac yn amddiffyn plant a phobl ifanc ar hyd a lled Cymru.

Dyma gyfle gwych i ymuno â phrif elusen blant y DU a gweithio ochr yn ochr â thîm cyfeillgar, angerddol ac ymroddedig. Os ydych chi'n rhannu ein hangerdd am yr effaith y gallwch chi ei chael ar blant, byddem wrth ein bodd yn clywed gennych chi. 

Ar hyn o bryd, nid ydym yn gallu derbyn ceisiadau gan bobl ifanc o dan 18 oed ar gyfer y rôl hon.
