Are you a compassionate, reliable, and supportive listener who knows your local community well?

SUNSHINE is a new, grassroots charity dedicated to tackling the severe loneliness crisis in London and beyond by creating accessible, consistent opportunities for human connection. We are launching three core projects - Monthly Coffee Mornings, Digital Inclusion and Skills, and Wellbeing Wednesdays and we need dedicated Community Connectors to make sure the most isolated people know about and feel safe attending them.

This pivotal, person-led role is the heart of our mission. You will be the friendly, consistent link that helps individuals overcome the initial barriers of anxiety and inertia to re-engage with their community and find their place in SUNSHINE's programmes.

In this Compassionate Voluntary Role, You Will:

• Provide a Warm Link: Serve as a consistent, friendly contact for isolated individuals identified through local referrals (e.g., from GPs, libraries, or other agencies).

• Offer Support and Encouragement: Build trust and offer non-judgmental support to help individuals identify their own goals and interests (a strengths-based approach).

• Facilitate Connection: Gently introduce and signpost individuals to either a SUNSHINE programme (Coffee Morning, Digital Inclusion and Skills, Wellbeing Wednesdays) or to another suitable, trusted group or resource within the local community.

• Maintain Consistency: Follow up with individuals briefly (via phone or simple check-in) after they attend a programme for the first time, ensuring they felt welcomed and encouraging them to return.

• Adhere to Safety: Work strictly within SUNSHINE’s safeguarding and data protection guidelines, reporting all concerns to the Volunteer Coordinator or Designated Safeguarding Lead.

• Exceptional Listening Skills: The ability to be empathetic, patient, and non-judgmental.

• Local Knowledge: A strong familiarity with your London Borough/Area and its community groups, public spaces, and resources.

• Reliability & Consistency: This is vital. You must be able to commit to scheduled check-ins and follow-ups.

• Positive Attitude: An ability to approach this role with the 'Joy & Light' that defines the SUNSHINE mission.

(Prior experience in befriending, social prescribing, or supporting vulnerable adults is a bonus, but comprehensive training will be provided.)

The difference you will make to cats and people

As a trap, neuter and return (TNR) lead volunteer you will make a vital contribution to maintaining a healthy population of feral and community cats and will help alleviate cat welfare and community problems caused by uncontrolled cat populations. You will lead a team of TNR volunteers in your local area, who in turn will help reduce the number of unwanted cats.

What we need from you

You’ll be:

• Supporting and managing a team of TNR volunteers

• Engaging with local communities, local businesses, landowners and farmers to promote the neutering of cats in their locality

Ready to make a difference to a young person's life? Team Up is seeking dynamic volunteers to help transform the lives of disadvantaged pupils by building confidence, resilience and doubling their expected progress in English or maths.

We are looking for inspirational role models who will tutor Maths or English on one of our school programmes across London. You will be matched with a small number of pupils and provide them with the academic support, encouragement and inspiration they need to get back on track. All our volunteer tutors receive full training, lesson resources and support from a qualified teacher/facilitator throughout their placement.

Practical Considerations:

• You can choose a programme that suits your timetable and location.
• Sessions are between 60-90 minutes and will take place on a fixed day of the week, normally at the end of the school day (between 3-5pm).
• Each programme runs across a 12 week period, usually during term time. You will be expected to volunteer for at least one programme (10-12 weeks). 
• Team Up provides full lesson plans and teaching resources.
• This role requires you to undergo a free of charge DBS check, which will be arranged by Team Up.
• Travel expenses up to £15 per session are covered.

RSPCA Lincoln Mid & Lincoln

We need volunteers who have expertise in retail operations and income generation to help us maximise the revenue generated in our charity shops. You will gain new skills and experience as a Branch Trustee whilst enabling us to help more animals.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and passionate person, with a background in retail operations and income generation, who could devote their time to volunteer as a trustee for our Branch, and support us in maximising the revenue generated from our charity shops.

Alongside passing on your expertise, this opportunity will give you the chance to influence how we care for and prevent cruelty to animals and drive the implementation of key initiatives. You will serve on the governing body of the charity and be instrumental, alongside fellow trustees, in the running of the Branch and setting out both the short and long term aims.

As a minimum, trustees would normally be expected to attend a monthly committee meeting lasting some 2 to 3 hours. However, the commitment may vary depending on whether or not the trustee takes on additional duties.

Primary responsibilities of the Branch Trustee – Retail and Income Generation

• Assist the Branch Manager in maximising the profitability of the Branch’s three charity shops.
• Work with the Branch Manager to explore any potential for expanding the retail operation by researching the potential for further charity shops.
• Support the Branch Manager in establishing the Branch’s e-commerce operation via online sales platforms such as eBay.
• Work with other trustees, the Branch health and safety provider and the Branch Manager to ensure the charity shops meet health and safety standards.
• Explore other ways to generate income for the Branch and work closely with the Branch Manager to put these ideas into action.

You will need to be able to work with people and have good interpersonal skills. You do not need to be an expert although commitment, common sense, and the ability to be objective are vital.

Practical considerations

• You will need to be 18 or over
• Ideally, the candidate will be based in or around Lincoln, Mid, or North East Lincolnshire; however, we also hold meetings remotely.
• The position is unpaid but reasonable expenses will be reimbursed.
• You must not be disqualified from being a Trustee. Please read the Charity Commission’s guidance on who can be a Trustee of a charity.
• References will be required.

Want to learn first aid? Enjoy going to local events? Want to meet people and make new friends? This is the role for you. St John provide first aid treatment and care for members of the public at a variety of events. We support our local communities in all sorts of ways including first aid cover, CPR training, community response, and providing first aid training to schools and community groups. We work to prevent the harmful effects of pornography and challenge the normalisation of unhealthy sexual behaviours among young people. Role Purpose

We are seeking Volunteer Schools Workers to accompany our lead Schools Worker in delivering workshops to children and young people. You’ll help create a safe, positive environment for learning, support classroom activities, and be an encouraging presence for students as they explore important topics around respect, relationships, and digital culture.

Key Responsibilities

· Accompany the lead Schools Worker to sessions in primary and secondary schools.
