We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic, fast learning volunteers creative engagement intern to join our growing team at Human Appeal; helping us to produce content for our London volunteers through new and innovative ideas including daily reminders, summary posts following our events to show the impact volunteers are making. To maximise volunteer support and showcase the Human Appeal teams work who are delivering the projects on the ground.

Main tasks include:

· Produce High Quality, engaging content in various formats tailored to specific platforms and targeted at volunteers. E.g  Developing weekly posts for our volunteer group chats, curating motivational reels, event summary posts and showcasing our projects.

· Managing our London and South Volunteer Led Instagram Account- By posting updates from our events and engaging content.

· Research new or existing social engagement strategies to apply in our volunteer groupchats

· Attending events to gather content for upcoming content creation

· Develop new and engaging content ideas to increase volunteer retention and awareness of our campaigns

· Monthly Newsletter to summarise all significant campaigns- volunteer updates.

Knowledge/Experience/Skills required:

§  A good understanding of content creation: Social media posts/reels etc.

§  A good understanding of using Photoshop, Illustrator, Adobe Suite, MS Office Suite

§  Pursuing a degree or equivalent in Design/Creative/Graphic Design/ Marketing/ Production or Brand management or relevant experience.

Volunteer Carer Opportunity – Jumbulance Ski Trip to Niederau, Austria
23rd January – 1st February 2026

We’re looking for volunteer carers to join us on our annual ski trip to the beautiful resort of Niederau, Austria. This is a unique chance to support others while enjoying an unforgettable ski holiday in the Alps. No prior care experience? That’s fine, we provide full training. Could this trip be your first step toward gaining valuable experience in the health and care sector?

What we provide:

• Travel on board The Jumbulance, accommodation, breakfasts, and dinners

• Ski equipment and lift pass

• The chance to ski or enjoy the hotel’s spa and local activities

• Free DBS Certificate, initial training in care, safeguarding and manual handling 

Your role will include:

• Reporting to the Care Lead for the trip, who will be on hand to provide guidance and support when needed

• Supporting a passenger with their morning and evening routines - personal care such as washing, dressing, and using the toilet

• Medication support where required

• Helping with mealtimes as needed

• Providing support in the spa if required and when safe to do so

• Sharing the support, each volunteer has either the morning or afternoon off each day, giving you regular time to ski, relax at the hotel spa, or explore the resort

• Joining in with group activities in the evenings, which often include games or a drink at the bar

Experience and training:

• Previous care experience is preferred but not essential

• We’ll provide training before the trip so you feel confident in your role

• Most important is a caring attitude, teamwork, and willingness to get involved

Fundraising:
To help make these life-changing trips possible, all volunteers are expected to fundraise £500 towards the cost of their place. We’ll give you tips and support to reach your target. 

This role is perfect for someone with a caring nature who’d enjoy combining meaningful support with time to ski and share in a truly special adventure. You’ll be part of a supportive volunteer team making the trip possible for our passengers, while also having time to enjoy the slopes, the spa, and the group’s activities.

Role 1: 'Mile with a Mascot’ Event Volunteer

• Volunteer time: Around 10:15 AM – 12:15 PM
• Event time: 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM
• Location: Along the event route

What you’ll be doing:

• Helping to guide and cheer on participants
• Bringing energy and encouragement along the route
• Chatting with families and interacting with our mascots
• We also need one volunteer to dress up as Alex the Acorn – you can either walk the mile or stay in one spot to wave and cheer

Role 2: Match Day Collection Volunteer – Walsall FC

• Volunteer time: Around 1:00 PM – 5:30 PM
• Event: Walsall FC v Tranmere Rovers (Kick-off 3:00 PM)

What you’ll be doing:

• Supporting our fundraising team with bucket collections
• Helping at the Acorns Tombola Stand
• One volunteer will be needed to dress up as Alex the Acorn again

As a Community First Aider, you’ll deliver first aid to those in need through local events, as well as provide education to the public so that the ripple effect of First Aid grows.

Through supporting the growth of community partnerships, you will bring people along to our cause, growing our membership and fundraising base and spreading the message that First Aid Saves Lives. 

Through volunteering as a Community First Aider, you’ll get a huge sense of satisfaction and pride delivering an essential service. It’s great for you, great for your community and great for our nation, and it requires only a small commitment of your time. 

We will make sure you will have access to a proper induction to volunteering with SJA and the training you need for the role you take on. Our shops generate funds that directly support the whole family, from medical care and therapeutic services for children, to emotional and practical care for families, to sibling support activities & experiences.

Your role will help us continue providing vital care and support to Tŷ Hafan children and their families.

About our Porthcawl Shop:

Porthcawl is a lovely destination seaside town with a one street shopping area in close proximity to beaches, a funfair and some fabulous ice cream parlours!

There is often entertainment in the band stand opposite the shop and who can forget the famous Elvis festival.

Mandy, her staff team and their loyal volunteer team provide first class customer service and have built relationships with our lovely regulars who shop with us, very kindly donate their pre-loved items as well as buy their weekly lottery ticket. 

Considerations:

Commitment:Our shops operate Monday-Saturday, 9am-4:45pm and we appreciate any time you can spare, but ideally at least 2 hours per week.

St John provide first aid treatment and care for members of the public at a variety of events. As a small charity, there will be times when trustees will need to be actively involved beyond Board meetings. This may involve scrutinising board papers, leading discussions, focusing on key issues, providing advice and guidance on new initiatives, presenting externally, or other issues in which the trustee has special expertise.
