Ignite Youth is a brand-new, ambitious charity dedicated to empowering young people (ages 11-18) in East London. We are launching our flagship weekly youth club to provide a safe, inclusive, and dynamic space for learning, connecting, and growth. We are seeking a highly experienced volunteer to take on a pivotal leadership role to ensure the club's successful launch and ongoing impact.

This is a chance to use your professional youth work experience to make a significant, hands-on contribution to the community.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Club Management & Leadership: Take full on-the-night operational oversight of the Wednesday Night Club, ensuring sessions are engaging, well-managed, and align with the club's values.

  2. Volunteer Supervision: Provide direct supervision, guidance, and mentorship to our team of Youth Team Volunteers during sessions.

  3. Safety & Safeguarding: Act as the designated Safeguarding point-person during club hours, ensuring all procedures are strictly followed.

  4. Programme Delivery: Oversee activity delivery, manage group dynamics, and promote positive behaviour and peer relationships among members.

  5. Administrative Support: Complete necessary session reports (attendance, incidents), and communicate feedback and needs back to the Trustee Board.

Person Specification (Experience is Key)

  • Experience: Proven professional experience (minimum 2 years) in leading, managing, or coordinating youth club sessions or similar settings (ages 11-18).

  • Leadership: Experience in managing, supervising, or mentoring other volunteers or junior staff.

  • Safeguarding: Excellent working knowledge and practical experience of Safeguarding and Child Protection procedures.

  • Skills: Strong communication, behaviour management, and group facilitation skills.

  • Commitment: Reliability and consistent availability on Wednesday evenings.

What We Offer You

  • Strategic Impact: The opportunity to establish and shape the delivery of a vital new community service.

  • Professional Reference: A high-level professional reference from the Trustee Board, reflecting your leadership contribution.

  • Influence: Direct communication with the Board to inform the club's strategy and growth.
