A bit about this role

As a charity we can continue to help cats and kittens in need thanks to the donations we receive at fundraising events from generous members of the public. Our fundraising event helpers have the exciting and varied role of helping at local fundraising events - such as cakes sales, barn dances, quiz nights – and everything in between!
 

You can expect us to

What we need from you

You'll be

• help set up and/or man stalls at events
• help on collection days like supermarket collections events or street collections
• help at fundraising events such as quiz nights, cake sales and dances
• promoting a professional image of Cats Protection at events

Time expectation

This role is really flexible! You could choose to volunteer at one event for a couple of hours or attend multiple fundraising events. The events will be based around the South Wirral and Chester area.

We’ll keep you up to date with upcoming local events where volunteers are needed. You’ll then be able to choose which events you’d like to volunteer at and how many hours you’d like to give. However much time you can give, your contribution will help raise much needed funds to continue the work of Cats Protection.

What is involved?
This role involves helping out at The Talk Shop making this a warm, friendly place for local people to connect with each other and with Cliik and other community organisations in the area. This could include:
● being available to meet and greet people who pop in to the shop,
● making refreshments;
● providing sign-posting to other agencies, as required;
● supporting people with form-filling;
● supporting or organising simple activities for people to engage with, for example, craft activities.

What will you get out of it?
● You will meet new people, learn new skills and enjoy sharing some of your existing skills. You will have the opportunity to make a difference in the community and to feel like you are a part of a local organisation run by local people for local people.
● When you start, you will be given training and information you need to carry out the role. You will have regular supervision and support. You will be able to demonstrate experience working with people in any future job application and get a reference which explains the work that you have done with Cliik at The Talk Shop.

What we ask for
● Volunteers need to be welcoming to people who visit The Talk Shop and to be able to get on with people from a wide range of backgrounds. We expect all of our volunteers and staff to treat everyone in our community with respect.
● We ask for a regular commitment of at least one weekly slot, usually around 3 hours.
● Because the role involves meeting people in the community, some of whom may be children, young people and vulnerable adults, building relationships with them, and holding responsibility for sometimes being alone in The Talk Shop, we will need to follow safer recruitment procedures.

A New Icon

We level the playing field for athletic sponsorships enabling more athletes to reach their full potential.

Large brands and agencies dominate the sports sponsorship marketplace. As a result, many athletes, including female, disabled, and LGBTQ+ athletes from various ethnicities or lower socioeconomic backgrounds, are often left without sponsors and access to what they need to reach their potential.
In addition, many sponsors need help finding and developing a genuine connection with an athlete, which leads to issues connecting with their audiences. There is no way to search for sponsors or athletes directly without involving costly agencies. Transparency and self-management are crucial in democratising the marketplace. The opportunity to make this sector more equitable is now.

We have built an innovative self-managed athlete-sponsorship platform focused on unique connections between sponsors and athletes. Sponsors, athletes, and fans can sign-up. Athletes create a public profile page with information and media about themselves. Sponsors create campaigns which athletes & teams search and apply for. In addition, all users can follow athletes who post on our social feed. Negotiation steps are in-built before the contract is confirmed; secure payment is taken for the sponsorship amount and held securely.

As milestones are reached, an athlete's payment percentage is released, protecting both sides. our latest build has developed our campaign area, where marketing assets are now auto-generated in the brand and athlete voice through AI and ML implementation. Once a campaign has gone live, there is now a dashboard that shows its engagement success and delivers the data points you would expect to understand for each campaign alongside a social value calculation that maps to the SDGs and other CSR markers. Our UI and UX are updated to ensure the right data is captured and the user journey is streamlined. Our model enables the fair distribution of power.

Finance Support Manager

Volunteer Role Description (remote, unpaid)

We are looking for someone with experience to help us implement healthy financial systems and approaches whilst we bootstrap and raise investment funding. Ideally you will have an understanding of financial modelling, revenue models and have a passion for sports or marketplaces. It is an area that has been completely overlooked and a weak point for us, so patience and passion for finance is a must! The role should only take 0-1 hour a week ongoing but after and will require some initial time to understand implement processes.

Qualifications

We are looking for volunteers interested in working with young asylum seekers and refugees to support our weekly youth club in Croydon, ‘Merhaba’. Merhaba Youth Club is a safe space where 18-25 year old refugees and asylum seekers living in contingency accommodation can come to socialise with their peers, develop friendships, build a better understanding of their rights and entitlements, gain new skills and access 1:1 support.

The club runs on Tuesdays, 2.30-5.30pm, and we ask that you come to Merhaba at least three times each month and attend the whole session. The role involves supporting staff to set up and deliver activities – including 1:1 English and games – as well as administrative support.
