Autistic Parents UK is seeking dedicated volunteers to join our incredible team. We are a fully user-led registered charity, offering peer support, webinars, training, signposting and resources on lived Autistic parenthood. ​

The Social Media Assistant supports our organisation in building and engaging with our online community. This role helps raise awareness of our work, share important updates, and create meaningful, accessible content across our social media platforms and communications channels.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create engaging and accessible social media content, including posts, graphics, short videos, and community updates.

• Support the planning and scheduling of social media content in line with campaigns, events, and organisational priorities.

• Help produce and distribute monthly newsletters to keep our community informed about news, opportunities, and updates.

• Monitor and moderate social media platforms to help maintain a safe, welcoming, and inclusive online space.

• Respond to inbox messages, comments, and general enquiries in a friendly, professional, and timely manner, escalating queries where needed.

• Support promotion of events, services, and community activities.

• Contribute ideas to help improve engagement and grow our online presence.

Skills and Experience:

• Good written communication skills with the ability to create engaging and clear content.

• Creativity and enthusiasm for social media and digital communication.

• Confidence using social media platforms.

• Familiarity with Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, BlueSky, and YouTube is desirable.

• Basic digital skills such as scheduling posts, using content creation tools, or editing images/videos (desirable but not essential).

As a Fundraising Volunteer, you will play a key role in identifying, researching, and supporting the development of funding opportunities, including grants, donor partnerships, and investment outreach. This position offers hands-on experience in social impact fundraising, proposal development, and strategic collaboration within a fast-paced cleantech startup environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Research and track potential funding opportunities, including grants, accelerators, and impact investors.
• Assist in drafting proposals, pitch decks, Letters of Intent (LOIs), and grant applications.
• Maintain a database of funders, deadlines, and application progress.
• Support internal reporting and documentation for ongoing grants and partnerships.
• Attend and take notes on donor meetings, partnership calls, or webinars related to fundraising.

Requirements

• Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Proficient in Google Workspace; experience with CRM tools (e.g., HubSpot, Airtable) is an advantage.
• Passionate about sustainability, climate action, or the circular economy.

Volunteer Role: Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) Strategy Design

We are Bees Abroad, working to enable communities to empower themselves through sustainable beekeeping. Together with local beekeeper trainers and organisations we educate, guide, and mentor communities in local best practices in Beekeeping, business creation, and protecting the environment. 

We are a majority volunteer organisation, with projects led entirely by volunteers working in partnership with our in-country training teams, while still in close collaboration with the core team and Board of Trustees. Whilst we are a small charity, we drive a lot of impact and have great ambition. 

We are looking for a volunteer to help us strengthen how we measure and evaluate our impact so that we can drive better and wider impact still. This individual will be reporting to our CEO and a member of the Board of Trustees. 

The goal of the project is to deliver a revised Measurement and Evaluation Strategy and put in place the foundations for a more efficient and consistent MEL process. We expect a commitment of 4 hours per week, with room for more, should the individual wish to do so. 
 
The role will involve: 

• Gathering information from our project teams to understand current monitoring and data/information collection practices across the various countries and projects. 

• Working with the CEO, a member of the Board of Trustees, and select country leads to design a monitoring and evaluation strategy that provides consistency across projects while allowing flexibility for context-specific approaches.

• This strategy document will also become publicly available to corporate and grant donors. 

• Designing and piloting simple, effective monitoring and evaluation processes and tools that can be used both where technology is available and in low-tech settings.

• Supporting any trainings of local teams in the new tools and processes 

• Exploring opportunities to use automation and digital tools, including AI, to streamline reporting where possible. 

• Bi-weekly meetings with CEO and Trustee

 You will ideally have... 

• Experience in monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) in community development or similar fields. This includes: 

• Designing and implementing frameworks to measure project outcomes and impact. 

• Collecting, analysing, and reporting data from community-based projects. 

• Developing indicators and tools to track progress and learning. 

• Facilitating feedback loops to inform decision-making and improve project delivery. 

• Ability to design practical, user-friendly MEL processes and tools that can be adapted and implemented in a variety of settings

• Comfortable working with both digital and offline MEL methods. 

• Strong communication skills to collaborate with our international project team, with an ability to adapt language and communication approaches to different personalities and local area contexts 

This role offers the opportunity to shape how Bees Abroad demonstrates impact and supports communities through beekeeping, while helping our own teams learn and improve our project delivery.

Youth Leaders work directly with young people in St John Ambulance Badger Setts and Cadet Units. By organising a mixed weekly programme, this role will support the learning and development of young people into the next generation of health citizens. Youth Leaders also help young people develop their confidence, teamwork skills, self-discipline, and generally encourage them to strive to be the best they can be, as well as supervise and support other adult volunteers in their team.

You’ll get a huge sense of satisfaction and pride delivering an essential service. It’s great for you, great for your community and great for our nation, and it requires only a small commitment of your time.

The Fixing Factory is a community repair hub where we teach repair skills, repair and refurbish electrical waste, and help people keep their electrical items in use for longer.

Our work is made possible with the support of a team of volunteers who help people to get their electronic items fixed, learn repair skills and provide valuable support to environmental charities Possible (The 10:10 Foundation) and The Restart Project.

We’re looking for Experienced Fixers to join our volunteer team and help diagnose and repair electrical items at the Haringey Fixing Factory. Your skills will help keep valuable items in use for longer — supporting our mission to reduce waste and support our community.

What you’ll be doing:

• Diagnosing and repairing electrical items such as lamps, kettles, toasters and laptops
• Testing and signing off items ready for sale or donation
• Supporting less experienced fixers with more complex repairs
• Talking one-on-one with members of the public about how items can be repaired
• Helping keep the workshop safe, tidy and welcoming

We’re looking for someone who:

• Has strong electrical repair skills and experience fixing a range of items
• Can work independently and confidently troubleshoot faults
• Is organised, reliable and safety-conscious
• Enjoys sharing knowledge and supporting others
• Cares about sustainability, reducing waste and community impact

The Fundraising Lead for Roots Academy Canada will be responsible for developing and executing fundraising strategies to support the expansion of Roots Academy’s programs.

Key Responsibilities:

Community Engagement:

• Develop and implement a dynamic fundraising plan that includes a variety of strategies tailored to Roots Academy’s target audiences, including university MSAs, mosques, and Islamic organisations.

• Identify and build partnerships with key community organisations, MSAs, and Islamic centres to create collaborative fundraising opportunities.

• Stay adaptable to emerging opportunities for funding, leveraging both traditional and innovative approaches to engage and attract potential donors.

Relationship Building:

• Actively engage with MSAs, Islamic centres, and community organisations to establish Roots Academy as a cause worth supporting and to cultivate long-term donor relationships.

• Coordinate and oversee logistics for events, ensuring a smooth and impactful experience for all participants and maximising fundraising outcomes.

Tracking and Reporting:

• Maintain accurate records of fundraising activities, donor interactions, and campaign outcomes to ensure transparency and accountability.

• Provide regular reports to the leadership team on fundraising efforts, adapting strategies as needed based on campaign performance and community feedback.

• Use data to evaluate the effectiveness of different fundraising approaches, enabling continuous improvement in future efforts.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Fundraising Experience: Proven experience in developing and executing successful fundraising strategies, particularly for nonprofit organisations, educational initiatives, or Islamic institutions.

• Community-Oriented: A deep understanding of the Muslim community in Canada, especially in relation to university students and local mosques.

• Relationship Building: Proven experience in building and maintaining meaningful relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders.

• Project Management: Strong organisational skills with the ability to support program delivery efficiently.

• Communication: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences, from students to community leaders.

• Commitment to Ihsaan: This role requires someone who strives to deliver their responsibilities with ihsaan.
