MUSLIM VOLUNTEER MENTOR
Can you offer your support to a young person via mentoring?
FCCT are looking for volunteers to play a supportive role by actively mentoring young offenders (aged 15-30 in HMP/YOI Feltham) and to offer support under the ‘7 pathways to Reducing Reoffending’:
FCCT offer support under the seven pathways to reducing reoffending including signposting to relevant organisations:
- Accommodation
- Education, Training and Employment (ETE)
- Health
- Drug and Alcohol Misuse
- Finance, Benefits and Debts
- Children & Families
- Attitudes, Thinking and Behaviour.
Our aim is to help young people overcome hardships and make the positive transition back into wider society and to help to reduce reoffending rates.
Scope of Volunteer Main Role and Duties (not exhaustive):
Mentoring Arm:
- Work through a ‘Discharge List’ systematically, cross referencing with the Operations Manager, so as not to duplicate any work or contact with the young people (primarily of Muslim faith).
- Hand out and (where needed) help complete ‘Survey Questionnaires’ given to young people from the ‘Discharge List’, in order to ascertain what type of job or education sector the young person would be interested in going into. Forms to be given to the Operations Manager afterwards.
- Follow up with a one-to-one session – register the young person to the FCCT programme and completing relevant paperwork, which will include our ‘Client Profile Form’ and ‘Consent Form’.
- Update a shared ‘Client Spreadsheet’ which will be used to capture data information, as to the young people that FCCT are engaging with.
- Identify relevant Mosques etc for the young people to attend post release and contact said religious establishments, to understand their referral criteria and then make relevant referrals, where required.
- Collect testimonials from the young people in relation to the support FCCT have offered them.
- Mentoring of young people
- Make or facilitate family contacts for resettlement purposes, in relation to the young people.
We are looking for individuals who demonstrate the following attributes:
- Commitment: Shows commitment to the organisation, its values and its clients, understanding that the building of trust and consistency is key, in terms of the clientele FCCT work with.
- Communication: Communicates well both verbally and in writing. An ability to communicate effectively with young people would also be an added benefit.

- Professionalism: Complies with all FCCT policies and procedures, particularly regarding Safeguarding, GDPR etc.
- Non-judgemental: Demonstrates empathy and openness and does not impose personal values or conscious or unconscious bias.
- Solution focused: Can help to identify issues and meets challenges with optimism and offers solutions, seeing them as an opportunity to learn.
Training and Support
We will provide all the necessary training. Training will be provided on an ongoing basis and volunteers will be given a full induction of the organisation and how the projects run. Volunteer expenses will be paid.
Time Required
FCCT ask for a minimum of 8 hours a month. Due to the flexibility of the role, the hours can be distributed over different days between the core hours of 9am - 5pm, including Sundays.

What you will be doing
- Facilitate a meditation sessions, one to one or in a small group over video call
- Plan each session and identify any items needed for the Meditation sessions
- Lead on the logistics and set up of the session alongside the staff team
- Inspire and motivate people using the services to attend
- Keep a record of attendees, provide feedback, and report any concerns to the staff team

Rainforest Trust UK is seeking a Volunteer Research Assistant to support our fundraisers with identifying and researching potential new donors, other funders and advocates. Our research activities are hugely important as they inform, guide and direct our fundraising efforts and you will help us to secure invaluable funds for our conservation programmes across the globe.
This role would be ideal for an aspiring major donor or trusts & foundations fundraiser or someone who loves to research, has an interest in data, an eye for detail and is passionate about fundraising for environmental causes. There will be a strong focus on ethical fundraising practices such as GDPR compliance and completing due diligence on prospects.
We will provide induction training and appropriate ongoing support and guidance relevant to the role. This role is based remotely.

What’s involved?
- The Board meets in person at least four times a year, plus an annual away day.
- Trustees are also expected to join one of our committees and may occasionally support specific projects.
- Most additional meetings take place online.
- This is a voluntary role, but reasonable expenses are covered.

Do you have a coaching qualification, or are you working towards one? Would you like to help managers across our organisation develop their skills and confidence? As a coach, you will support managers to improve their leadership abilities, build confidence, and enhance their effectiveness in their roles. Your coaching will help them tackle challenges such as personal effectiveness, leadership credibility, career development, and conflict resolution. By providing guidance and encouragement, you will play a key role in helping managers grow, develop new skills, and lead their teams more effectively.
What you will be doing
- Deliver coaching sessions for managers at various levels, from team leads to department heads.
- Provide a safe, open, and confidential space for coaching conversations focused on leadership, communication, conflict resolution, managing change, and interpersonal skills.
- Use clear and effective coaching methods and models.
- Maintain confidentiality and follow Hestia’s coaching programme guidelines.
- Define clear roles for both the coach and coachee, ensuring there are no conflicts of interest.
The skills you need
- A recognised coaching qualification (or currently studying towards one), such as ICF or EMCC, or significant coaching experience at a management level.
- Experience in the social care sector (desirable but not essential).
- Strong communication and listening skills.
- Willingness to participate in supervision and continuous learning.
- A friendly, approachable, and supportive manner.
- Understanding of confidentiality and professional boundaries.

We are seeking individuals who can empower those aged between 4 and 16, to support and share our mission within their current school or youth provision setting (Brownies, Guides, Cubs, Scouts and Youth Groups).

About us: GT Scholars is a charitable social enterprise that tackles educational inequality by giving ambitious young people the support, skills and strategies they need to achieve aspirations. We run a wide range of programmes that help young people achieve their academic and career aspirations, particularly those from less-privileged backgrounds.
What makes us different? We run tutoring, mentoring & career insight programmes that help our scholars, aged 11-18, discover their strengths, develop their mindsets and design their own futures.

However, our programmes use a unique 3:1 model which means that we’re able to sustainably use our profits to provide additional places on our programmes, to young people from low income homes.

If you are an undergraduate or graduate, you could make a difference by joining us as a volunteer tutor. As a volunteer tutor, you’ll need to:

Have a passion for helping children and young people

Provide online one-to-one tutoring support for 1 hour week

Build pupil confidence in Maths.

Have strong subject knowledge (confident enough to tutor up to GCSE)

Work collaboratively with other tutors and mentors

Have a minimum of an undergraduate degree or be working towards this

Additional information: We’re looking for tutors that can commit to a minimum of 2 academic terms of volunteering.
We will need to conduct reference checks and you will need an Enhanced DBS for this role as you will be working directly with children. We can process this for you or you may submit one if this is less than 3 years old.
