Asian MS is a national support group that offers tailored and culturally-sensitive services for Asian people with MS, their carers, friends and family. It's aimed at people whose heritage originates from South Asia.

As an Asian MS Community Engagement Volunteer you will the Group's local representative, helping us to find and attend events and reaching out to your local Asian MS community to raise awareness and extend the reach of the Group.

This role is very flexible, but there will be planning time (with your staff contact) and also attending events, meetings with networks and presentations. We would estimate the role taking no longer than 10 hours per month.

You’ll have support from a member of staff as well as a welcome and induction checklist which lists what resources are available to support you in your role.

As part of your role, you may have to complete some mandatory learning. Please refer to your welcome and induction checklist.

About you

Presentation Skills, confidence in speaking to new people, networking skills and the ability to influence would be fantastic. We would work to your strengths, however and some training will be available.

BRANCH TRUSTEE – TREASURER

RSPCA Lincs Mid, NE and Lincoln

Are you passionate about animal welfare? We are looking for an enthusiastic person who understands charity finance to support us in our mission to prevent cruelty, promote kindness and alleviate the suffering of animals.

We are looking for someone to volunteer as a Branch Treasurer for our **Lincoln Mid, NE and Lincoln Branch.** This role would play a vital role in supporting the Branches affairs so that it is governed and managed effectively, whilst continually having animal welfare at the forefront of their mind.

As a minimum, trustees would normally be expected to attend a monthly committee meeting lasting some 2 to 3 hours. However, the commitment may vary depending on whether or not the trustee takes on additional duties.

Primary responsibilities of the Branch Treasurer

•  Implement and maintain sound financial systems.
• Take a lead role in ensuring the committee set annual financial budgets and plan the branch income and expenditure.
• Provide a written financial report for every branch meeting.
• Liaise with auditors/independent examiners regarding the production of the annual branch accounts and the treasurer’s report.
• Maintain control of all bank accounts as authorised by the committee.
• Execute and operate branch committee financial decisions and act as branch co-signatory. Maintain control over all branch paying-in books and receipt books and to ensure their correct use.
• In the absence of a branch box secretary, to assume responsibility for the branch network of collection boxes.
•  Arrange payment of the annual branch contribution to the appropriate RSPCA fund.
• Coordinate financial control of all branch fundraising activities.
• Make quarterly VAT returns to headquarters promptly.
•  Ensure the production, monitoring and annual review of the branch’s financial risk management strategy in accordance with the charity commission’s requirements.
•  Liaise with branch officers, branch support specialist and Branch finance co-ordinator on Financial affairs as necessary and alert them immediately to any possible difficulties or irregularities.
•   Ensure the retention and safekeeping of all branch financial documentation for the appropriate time as set by the charity commission.

What we are looking for in a volunteer:

• Time Commitment: You will be able to commit to attending monthly committee meetings, each lasting approximately three hours.
• Financial Oversight: Between meetings, you will carry out key financial responsibilities including preparing financial reports for the committee, monitoring the annual budget set by the trustees, and ensuring financial activities align with agreed targets.
•  Professional Qualifications: You will hold, or be actively working towards, a recognised professional finance qualification such as CIMA or ACCA.
•  Charity Finance Knowledge: Ideally, you will have experience within the charity sector, with a strong understanding of areas such as Gift Aid, Charity Commission reporting requirements, and the management of restricted funds.
•  Financial Systems Experience: Proficiency in using financial software is essential, with experience in Xero being highly desirable as it is the platform currently in use.
• ·Regulatory Compliance: You should have a sound working knowledge of HMRC regulations, including PAYE, Employer’s National Insurance contributions, and VAT rules applicable to charities.

Women Empowerment, Education, and Arts & Culture

In rural Uganda, limited access to quality education, economic opportunities for women, and creative expression prevents communities from reaching their full potential. Many families live below the poverty line, and young people often drop out of school due to financial hardship. Women, especially single mothers, lack stable income and professional skills. Artistic and cultural resources are underrepresented, and youth have few outlets to develop their talents and voices.

Toonda addresses these challenges through a community-led approach that combines education, women’s empowerment, and arts & culture, creating a safe and inclusive environment where people gain skills, confidence, and income.

Our solution is to empower people at the grassroots level through a vibrant community hub that offers:

Educational support (school sponsorships, tutoring, digital literacy, reading programs)

Women-led income generation (weaving, tailoring, catering groups – now producing for TK Maxx)

Online Campaigns – Fundraising & Awareness

Volunteer Role Description (remote, unpaid)

Support TOONDA in planning and running engaging online campaigns to raise awareness and generate donations. You'll help us design and implement strategies across platforms like Betterplace, Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn.

Key Responsibilities: Develop and coordinate online fundraising or awareness campaigns

Create or adapt content for different platforms (text, visuals, calls to action)

Schedule and manage campaign timelines

Support with basic social media ads or boost strategies (Meta Ads, Google Ads Grants)

Monitor engagement and suggest improvements

You’re a good fit if you: Have experience with social media campaigns or digital fundraising

Do you have good communication skills and enjoy meeting and helping people? We need friendly, enthusiastic people like you to give visitors to our Products for Life Store the best possible experience when they come to us for information about our products and services or general enquiries. Products for Life Store consultations are a great way of customers finding out about the products that RNIB offers, and give customers the chance to try and view products.

The role involves welcoming customers and assisting customers to view and try products before they buy, recording purchases on the till (training will be provided) and some admin tasks such as using excel, checking stock lists and processing payments.

We are looking for volunteers with a welcoming and friendly nature, who enjoy interacting with customers and have some experience of Microsoft Office and Excel.

The Products for Life Store is a friendly and supportive team and ideally, you will have some flexibility to fit in with the needs of the Products for Life Store.

This is a long-term, one to one commitment. Full training and on-going support will be given, and out of pocket expenses paid for mileage and activities.

The role of Software Tester is responsible for the testing of Youth4Youth’s technology solutions. The role involves communication with other Youth4Youth team members; creating test plans; creating test cases; running tests and analysing results to produce reports. The tester will be supporting a website and chat system.
