Digital Marketer

Volunteer Role Description (remote, unpaid)

Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute digital marketing campaigns across social media, email, and other online channels
• Create and schedule engaging content for our social media platforms
• Analyze and report on campaign performance, providing insights for future improvements
• Collaborate with our team to identify and prioritize marketing goals and objectives
• Stay up-to-date with the latest digital marketing trends and best practices -Must have a good writing skills

OneSpirit Interfaith Foundation was established as an educational charity in 2003. Our aim is to develop spiritual awareness and to support people of all faiths, and none, by delivering a range of training programmes that allow open-hearted adults to serve their chosen communities through Ministry, Spiritual Counselling and in supporting life’s transitions. Our interfaith ministers bring unconditional love and radical commitment to members of the public through ceremony, ritual, spiritual counselling, and other methods of support.

We are seeking new trustees, with a focus on marketing and/or legal experience, with a commitment to the vision and purpose of the organisation to join our board. Trustees are appointed for a term of 4 years and are essential to the progress and growth of our organisation.

To benefit the public by the education of mature adults in:
• the core principles of the world’s religions, faiths, and spiritual traditions;
• principles and methods of forgiveness, reconciliation and peace-making;
• and the practice of non-denominational spiritual and pastoral service in the community.

Ideally, you will have experience working in a not-for-profit organisation and will be passionate about spiritual life and faith-freedom. We would particularly love to hear from anyone with experience of Human Resources, Adult Education, Financial Management, Fundraising, Legal, and IT.

Formal trustee meetings take place with senior staff quarterly, and we hold up to nine trustee-only meetings annually. To ensure our work is collaborative, we also have an annual two-day gathering of trustees and the wider leadership team. All trustees are volunteers, with expenses available for travel to and from meetings and other incidental expenses where applicable. Please note that meetings are currently being held via Zoom.

Befriending Volunteer

You can make a difference…Age UK Wandsworth is a small, local, independent charity that has been working with older people in the area since 1963. We rely on your support to keep serving the older residents with in the Wamdsworth community. We have a dedicated team of experienced staff and a large network of dedicated local volunteers. Our aim is to enable everyone to age well in Wandsworth. We would love your help to be able to continue to support older Wandsworth residents.

Our Be-a-Friend service is one of our longest running services, matching people over 65, who live alone and have limited social contact, with a friendly local volunteer with similar hobbies and interests. The volunteer and their new friend set up a suitable time for them to meet each week for a chat and a cup of tea, which could be during the day, in the evening on the way home from work or even on the weekends . If you would prefer to volunteer from home, you can also be matched with an older person for telephone befriending. For many of our matched pairs, this is the beginning of a firm friendship. 

Befriending Plus

Befriending Plus is an extended version of the Be-a-Friend programme, for individulas needing help with life admin and small tasks as well as companionship. For Befriending Plus pairs, time spent together can include helping to use a phone or tablet, helping the client to organise their file, going out for a coffee or popping to the post office together. This support can help older people to stay independent at home for longer, as well as increasing their confidence to do these tasks when the volunteer is not there.

We’ll keep you up to date with upcoming local events where volunteers are needed. You’ll then be able to choose which events you’d like to volunteer at and how many hours you’d like to give. However much time you can give, your contribution will help raise much needed funds to continue the work of Cats Protection.

Put your crafting skills to use and become an Art Group Volunteer at our fun social Thursday group!

We are looking for a ‘people person’ to assist at this weekly group: being a welcoming and encouraging presence; helping the facilitator to set up activities, and being alongside our clients while they learn new skills and have a go at different art and craft techniques.

You don’t need to be an expert – just enthusiastic to ‘have a go’ and a willingness to be creative.

Overview of the role:

Kingfisher Food bank opened its doors in 2013 and was a project founded by local churches and community groups, working together towards stopping hunger in our local area. In March 2023 the North Solihull Food Bank, a Charitable Incorporated Organisation, was set up to carry on and enhance the work of the Kingfisher Food Bank. We are here to help people in crisis and offer support through the provision of emergency food parcels, by offering a listening ear, and by signposting to other agencies for more bespoke support. We have a dedicated team of over 30 volunteers.

The Secretary of Trustees is responsible for leading on the administrative duties of the food bank and Board of Trustees, ensuring that its activities are conducted within the legal requirements, with board meetings being properly administered.

Key tasks

Secretary Responsibilities:

• to attend Trustee meetings, take accurate notes and keep an accurate record of attendance at meetings, recording all resolutions passed by the Trustees.
• to ensure that there is a record of all Trustee Board correspondence 
• to ensure that details of Trustee meetings are circulated to the board together with minutes of the previous meeting.
• organise the Annual General Meeting (AGM) and ensure all relevant stakeholders are informed and post the appropriate notices and commission, collect, duplicate and issue any necessary written reports, agendas, and minutes of previous meetings.
• to prepare, in partnership with other trustees, an annual report for the AGM on the work of the food bank.
• to ensure that the annual report (to accompany the annual accounts) is produced and sent to the relevant charity regulator body (Charity Commission of England & Wales) and that the details of the charity and new trustees are updated in a timely manner.
• to periodically check the Charity Commission’s website for guidance and information and updates that may affect the Trustees or the Foodbank

Other responsibilities, along with the Board of Trustees, include:

• to approve, support, and guide the charity’s purpose, vision, strategy, goals, and objectives
• to manage the charity’s resources responsibly, including ensuring the charity’s assets are used only to carry out its purpose, avoid undue risk, and not over-commit the charity
• To ensure the effective and efficient administration of the charity, responding to changes in the local community as appropriate
• to ensure that key risks are identified, monitored, and controlled appropriately
• to ensure appropriate financial plans are in place, budgets are monitored, and progress is evaluated
• to review and approve financial statements
• to help promote the organisation to key stakeholders and beneficiaries
• advertise, correspond with, and interview volunteers for posts, including use of Assemble and where applicable carry out DBS checks.
• to ensure the charity has appropriate procedures to comply with current legislation and good practice, including employment, health and safety, equity, diversity and inclusion, safeguarding and GDPR compliance/data protection
• to prepare for and regularly attend and participate in board and subcommittee meetings and any trustee away days.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for people who want to help their local community and work towards the eradication of food poverty whilst supporting the food bank to continue to provide emergency food to people who find themselves in crisis. Our ideal candidates would demonstrate:

• a knowledge of and commitment to the work of the North Solihull Foodbank.
• a knowledge of, and passion for, your local community.
• previous experience or an ability in: administrative procedures; writing clearly; providing clear advice on procedural and relevant legislative matters.
• excellent communication skills.
• a willingness to actively participate in discussions concerning needs of the foodbank’s beneficiaries, staff, and the trustee board.
• sound, independent judgement, the ability to think creatively, and to act in the best interest of the charity.
• the ability to work effectively as a team member and demonstrate a willingness to learn, develop and collaborate.

Join us for a day of nature, community, and conservation!

WWF-UK’s Great Wild Walks are inspiring fundraising events set in some of the UK’s most beautiful landscapes. As a volunteer, you’ll play a vital role in making these events a success—supporting walkers, cheering them on, and helping raise crucial funds for WWF’s global conservation work.

Volunteer Roles

Roles are assigned on the day, but here’s what you might be doing:

• Event Village Volunteer: Greet participants, hand out t-shirts and medals, support recycling stations, and help create a welcoming atmosphere.
• Route Marshal: Guide and cheer on walkers along the route, ensuring they stay on track and feel encouraged.
• Back Marker: Walk the full 10-mile route behind the last participants, offering support and removing signage as you go.

Our fundraising volunteers use their passion for cats and people to raise the vital funds needed to help more cats and kittens in need. As a fundraising volunteer we want to support you to fundraise in whatever way suits you best, whether that’s organising a fundraising event, fundraising online, promoting fundraising activities on social media, completing administration or supporting the development of new fundraising ideas! Whatever your skill set, this could be the role for you! 

You can expect us to

• Provide you with access to learning, development and engagement opportunities

What we need from you

This is a really flexible role, you can choose what you’d like to get involved with, for example: 

• face-to-face fundraising. Organising or helping with fundraising events, running supermarket collections and fundraising stands, monitoring collection tins 

• online fundraising. Setting up online appeals and writing impactful cat case studies that maximise donations

• marketing. Spreading the word about our fundraising activities, for example on social media and with the local press  

• completing administration. Processing donations, sorting and recording donated goods, completing Gift Aid paperwork

● championing our work. Getting involved with developing new fundraising ideas and increasing community engagement

● photography. Capturing images of cats in care, cats we are helping, events and all things Cats Protection

Time expectation

This is a flexible role that can fit around your other commitments to suit you. You’ll be part of a team raising vital funds while having fun in the process!
