The difference you will make to cats and people

As a charity we are able to help thousands of cats each year thanks to the generous donations we receive from members of the public. Our fundraising volunteers use their passion for cats and people to raise the vital funds needed to help more cats and kittens in need. As a fundraising volunteer we want to support you to fundraise in whatever way suits you best, whether that’s organising a fundraising event, fundraising online, promoting fundraising activities on social media, completing administration or supporting the development of new fundraising ideas! Whatever your skill set, this could be the role for you!

What we need from you

This is a really flexible role, you can choose what you’d like to get involved with, for example: 

• face-to-face fundraising. Organising or helping with fundraising events, running supermarket collections and fundraising stands, monitoring collection tins 

• online fundraising. Setting up online appeals and writing impactful cat case studies that maximise donations

• marketing. Spreading the word about our fundraising activities, for example on social media and with the local press  

• completing administration. Processing donations, sorting and recording donated goods, completing Gift Aid paperwork

● championing our work. Getting involved with developing new fundraising ideas and increasing community engagement

● photography. Capturing images of cats in care, cats we are helping, events and all things Cats Protection

Time expectation

This is a flexible role that can fit around your other commitments to suit you. You’ll be part of a team raising vital funds while having fun in the process!

Background

Suzy Lamplugh Trust was founded by Diana and Paul Lamplugh following the disappearance of their daughter Suzy, a young estate agent, in 1986. Since then, the Trust has pioneered personal safety as a life skill and a public policy priority.

Our vision is to eliminate abuse, aggression and violence, creating a society where people are safer and feel safer.

Our mission is to reduce the risk and prevalence of abuse, aggression and violence with a specific focus on stalking and harassment through education, campaigning, and support.

Volunteer: Data & Analytics / Funding Research Assistant
Jawbone Collective CIC

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical volunteer to support our data-driven decision-making and fundraising efforts. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys researching, organising information, and using data to tell a meaningful story — especially within a creative, community-focused arts environment.

You will help us collect, interpret, and present data that demonstrates our impact to funders, partners, and stakeholders. You’ll also contribute to researching grant opportunities, supporting funding bids, and strengthening our ability to secure financial resources for future programmes and accessible literary initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in gathering data related to audience engagement, workshop participation, reach, and impact

• Organise and present data clearly (charts, reports, summaries, insights)

• Contribute to the development of evidence-based funding bids and grant applications

• Research new funding sources including grants, trusts, donors, and corporate partners

• Help maintain accurate records and metrics related to growth, performance, and community reach

• Work collaboratively with our leadership team and provide data insights that support strategic planning

Ideal Candidate:

• Strong analytical and organisational skills

• Experience with spreadsheets, CRM tools, or analytical software is beneficial (but not required)

• Some familiarity or interest in funding applications, research, or bid writing

• Able to translate raw data into meaningful insight

• An interest in arts, culture, and the social importance of accessible literature

Join the Board of Ensonglopedia, a newly registered arts charity working at the intersection of education, the performing arts and science.

We make musical comedies on science topics for theatres, festivals and schools, alongside workshops in educational, community and disability settings. Our work also includes music videos, documentaries and books, all created under the artistic direction of award-winning theatre maker and science communicator John Hinton.

Recent projects include The Puddle at the End of the World (about the climate crisis and migration), Light Fantastic! (the science of light), and Forces at Play (a Brooklands Museum commission).

Having become a registered charity in 2024, we are entering an exciting new chapter – expanding our network of creative partners and deepening our inclusion work. We’re now seeking up to four new Trustees to help guide our strategic direction and support the Artistic Director.

The Lymphoedema Support Network (LSN) is seeking a volunteer Trustee with expertise to help us raise the funds to ensure we can continue supporting the nearly 500,000 people (including children) in the UK affected by lymphoedema.

The LSN plays a crucial role in educating individuals, society and health care professionals about lymphoedema and the impact it has on every aspect of life and enabling those living with the condition and those facilitating their care to work together to ensure everyone can control and live well with lymphoedema.

Unify Giving is growing — and we want to launch a merch page so people can support our mission through print-on-demand products. Every item sold will help fund our work: direct, safe, trackable giving to people experiencing homelessness and domestic violence.

We’re looking for someone who knows their way around WordPress, WooCommerce and print-on-demand tools to help us make it happen.

What you’ll do

• Add and configure a merch/e-commerce page on our WordPress site.

• Integrate with a print-on-demand service (like Printful or Printify).

• Upload and format product listings, images and descriptions.

• Make sure the shop is smooth, simple and works for supporters.

• Advise on best practice for ongoing management.

We’re looking for property professionals who are passionate about inspiring young people and helping them understand the wide range of careers available across the property and real-estate sector. As a Property Career Ambassador, you’ll create a simple presentation deck using our template and deliver a 1-hour online workshop twice a year to sixth-form students. You’ll introduce them to the industry, share your own career journey, highlight apprenticeship and graduate pathways, and answer students’ questions. • Create fun, eye-catching TikToks that show what Unify Giving is all about.

• Repurpose content we already have and experiment with new trends.

• Manage posting, comments, and growth strategy on TikTok.

Our fantastic Chair’s tenure will be coming to an end in 2026, so we are looking to appoint her successor to help Student Minds improve university communities so that every student gets the mental health support they need to reach their goals.

At Student Minds, we’re working to improve university communities so that no student is held back by their mental health. So it should come as no surprise that we are keen to reflect the communities we serve, maintain a diverse board and ensure student voices are represented. This is key to our mission and our continued impact. 

We are open-minded about the professional background of this individual and are mostly looking for someone with experience of leading effective, inclusive teams, of chairing complex organisations or meetings, and in building influential cross-sector partnerships.

Key responsibilities

Student Minds Chair is expected to commit to the following: 

• Preparation and attendance at four board meetings a year. Board meetings are held online and take place on weekdays from 5 - 7.30 pm. 

• Preparation and attendance at two in-person board away days each year, usually from 12.30 - 5 pm. These usually take place in Leeds and include a lunchtime or evening social.

• Monthly supervision calls with the Chief Executive

• Annual in-person appraisal of the Chief Executive 

• Support with board appraisals and recruitment 

• Ad-hoc meetings and conversations with the senior leadership team as required. This usually constitutes approximately a further five working days a year.

• Attendance at relevant task-group meetings and/or committees.

We have a huge breadth of volunteer roles at Cats Protection, including caring for cats, fundraising, in our shops and many more! We also need volunteers to help us be more efficient, effective and to ensure we comply with charity law and governance.  

The purpose of the Audit & Risk Committee is to assist the Board of Trustees in fulfilling its obligations in respect of financial and governance reporting, internal control and risk. Our Audit & Risk Committee volunteers contribute to a well-run organisation, and their time and expertise help our Committee work in the best, most effective way possible.

The Board of Trustees delegates authority to the Committee to oversee the Cats Protection financial reporting process. This ensures the balance, transparency and integrity of published financial information to:

• ensure that there is a framework for accountability
• examine systems and methods of control, with particular emphasis on risk management and the effective use of risk-based outsourced internal audit receive reports from external auditors and consider rotation of audit partners
• ensure that Cats Protection is complying with statutory and regulatory requirements and good practice
• ensure implementation of recommendations from internal and external auditors
• ensure ongoing objectivity and independence

Your role will also include:

• attending Committee meetings
• reading papers
• preparing for meetings
• raising appropriate challenge or concerns undertaking any actions required in the agreed timescales
• supporting the Chair of the Audit & Risk Committee
• keeping informed about the activities of the charity and wider issues affecting the charity and the Audit & Risk Committee in particular

If you have strategic vision and an appreciation that there is much more to helping cats than meets the eye, then this is the role for you.

Be Enriched - recent recipients of The Kings Award for Voluntary Servie 2025 - are seeking an inspirational Chairperson to lead our Board of Trustees and guide our next phase of strategic growth. We use food as a tool to bring people together, cultivate joy and dignity whilst fighting food waste and nourishing the community.

The Chair plays a pivotal role in guiding the board, ensuring the charity is governed effectively and remains true to our vision and mission. • Provide leadership to the board in the establishment of organisations overall strategy and policies.

Board Management 

• Build and develop the board by leading efforts in recruiting new trustees and ensure the board is diverse, skilled, and working cohesively. Foster a culture of mutual respect and collaboration. 

• Plan annual schedule of board meetings and establish agendas. 

• Chair and facilitate board meetings. 

Representation and Advocacy 

• Act as Ambassador for Be Enriched at external events, meetings and functions when required. 

• Actively participate in and show support for the charity's events and projects, demonstrating leadership and commitment to its mission. 

Executive Liaison and Oversight 

• Liaise closely with CEO to maintain strategic overview and provide appropriate support. 

• Serve on senior appointment panels as needed.

Formal Procedures 

• Act as the final stage adjudicator in formal disciplinary and grievance procedures, in accordance with the organisation’s policies.

Essential Qualities

• Proven experience as a trustee, with a passion for governance and making a difference.  Prior Chair experience is welcome but not required. 

• A keen sense of strategic purpose.

• The ability to listen and engage. Comfortable with challenge and debate and can encourage that in others whist fostering a collaborative board environment.

• Advocate – be able and willing to champion Be Enriched’s work through personal networks, social media, and other channels.

• Be proactive and responsive – as a small charity, there are times when issues arise that require the Chair's guidance, support, or approval. 

In addition to the above, the Chair will have the responsibilities and qualities of all trustees:

• Support and provide advice on Be Enriched’s visions mission and goals. 

• Ensure the effective, efficient, and prudent administration of the organisations.

• Safeguard the organisations financial stability and ensure proper investment of funds. 

• Ensure key risks are being identified, monitored and controlled effectively. 

• Provide support and challenge the CEO in the exercise of their delegated authority and affairs. 

• Attend quarterly board meetings (online) and AGM (in-person), adequately prepared for group discussion.

• Use independent judgement, acting legally and in good faith to promote and protect Be Enriched’s interest, to the exclusion of their own personal and/or third-party interest.

• Maintain a thorough and informed understanding of the organisation's activities, as well as the broader external issues that affect its work.

• Accept collective responsibility, as part of the board, for the actions and decisions of the organisations and its trustees. 

• Participate in additional tasks as required, such as providing expert advice or assisting with fundraising initiatives.

Terms of Appointment 

Terms of Office 

• Trustees are appointed for a three-year term, with renewal available at end of first term.

Time Commitment 

• Attendance required at four quarterly board meetings (conducted online via Teams from 4:30-5:30pm). 

• Attendance compulsory at the Be Enriched AGM (conducted in-person).
