ABOUT THE CLINK CHARITY

The Clink Charity, founded in 2009, aims to prevent and reduce reoffending through training, rehabilitation and support. We deliver hospitality and horticulture training behind prison walls and in the community, creating an environment where students gain skills, confidence and qualifications to rebuild their lives.

We have trained approximately 5,000 people in prison and delivered 2,600 City & Guilds qualifications across hospitality and food courses.

A unique part of The Clink is our post-release support and mentoring programme, supporting individuals with health and mental health needs, housing, employment, family connections and friendships.

The charity operates a fine-dining restaurant inside HMP Brixton, training kitchens across the prison estate, horticulture projects at HMP Send and HMP Erlestoke, a commercial bakery in Brixton, and a bespoke delivery service, Catered by Clink.

Clink Events is our social enterprise catering business, with food produced by women in HMP Downview and an additional kitchen in Herne Hill. Alumni provide front-of-house service at major London venues including the Guildhall, Science Museum, Cutty Sark, Kew Gardens and the Camden Roundhouse. In 2024, across 218 events, The Clink served 36,000 people.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 General Responsibilities

• Overall responsibility for financial management, including strategic planning, reporting, budgeting, systems and controls.
• Responsibility for IT, HR, premises, lettings and administration.
• Active member of the senior leadership team, working with colleagues and the Board of Trustees.
• Promote the Charity’s ethos and support charity initiatives and policies.

Financial Responsibilities

• Develop and implement the financial strategy and conduct financial modelling for strategic decision-making.
• Lead all financial procedures and reporting, including monthly budget monitoring, management accounts and annual accounts.
• Maintain financial controls, standards and systems.
• Prepare and maintain budgets, financial plans and forecasts.
• Provide information for financial returns, bids and grant claims.
• Maintain the Asset Register and Risk Register.
• Negotiate, manage and monitor tenders, contracts, licences and service agreements.
• Act as cost centre manager for designated budget areas.
• Advise staff on financial matters.
• Manage key charity resources such as printers, transport and other significant assets.

HR Responsibilities

• In liaison with HR Managed Services (Solution22), oversee an effective HR function covering recruitment, induction, training, payroll, pensions, performance, retention and wellbeing.
• Ensure the CEO and leadership team have access to HR advice and data.
• Oversee policies and procedures and ensure the Handbook is updated in line with legislation.

Premises Management

• Lead responsibility for the Head Office site, including maintenance and development.
• Report to the CEO and Trustees on premises issues and recommend repairs or capital works.
• Liaise with contractors regarding building maintenance.
• Monitor energy consumption and implement savings.
• Prepare an annual maintenance plan and capital work forecasts.
• Manage income from facility lettings and other revenue sources.
• Manage the premises budget and ensure value for money.

Health and Safety

• Act as Health and Safety Officer and ensure compliance with all legislation and procedures.
• Prepare and update the emergency plan and risk analysis.
• Conduct regular health and safety risk assessments.
• Ensure First Aid requirements are met and logs maintained.
• Arrange health and safety training.

IT Support

• Manage the IT Services contract with Computerlink.
• Ensure IT systems and devices are well maintained.
• Plan and oversee IT projects and updates.
• Ensure e-safety and GDPR compliance.
• Ensure systems are protected against cyber-attacks.
• Ensure all necessary IT licences are in place.

Risk Management and Data Protection

• Maintain risk management procedures and disaster recovery plans.
• Monitor risk policies to minimise organisational risk.
• Maintain and update the operational Risk Register.
• Oversee insurance arrangements.
• Liaise with the Data Protection Officer and ensure compliance with data protection and FOI policies.
• Ensure staff receive data protection training and respond to subject access and FOI requests.

The Public Affairs Lead sits within our Policy and Advocacy Team, working to build support for The Food Foundation’s work amongst Parliamentarians and to influence the government to help deliver policies that will transform the food system. This is an exciting opportunity to join a small organisation delivering big impact on the political agenda around food.

The Public Affairs Manager reports to our Head of Policy and Advocacy and will be responsible for planning and delivering our public affairs activity. This includes: 

• Political engagement: meeting MPs and Peers in parliament and building relationships with their teams with a view to identifying potential new supporters 
• Policy and research: working closely with colleagues to share perspectives on which priorities it may be tactical to pursue and to understand what evidence is available to inform engagement.

Meeting with a Peer that is new to our work to brief them on evidence we have published and our current political priorities, completing a political stakeholder mapping exercise for a new campaign on sustainable diets to identify a shortlist of MPs to engage with, spending an afternoon in parliament to engage informally with passing MPs, pitching a new idea for a
parliamentary inquiry to parliamentary staff from the Health and Social Care Committee, drafting an MP briefing for an upcoming debate on the Government’ s obesity prevention priorities, reviewing next week’s parliamentary calendar to spot opportunities for engagement, attending a roundtable to share intelligence and discuss priorities for political party manifestos with other NGOs working on food issues, ringing round parliamentary offices to confirm attendance for
an upcoming parliamentary reception, meeting with an MP that is closely involved with The Food Foundation’s work to refine messaging for an upcoming campaign.

Your experience
You will have a strong knowledge of the UK political landscape and be comfortable and confident in engaging with stakeholders in Whitehall and in Parliament across the political spectrum. Ideally you would also have a knowledge of policy related to the food system, public health or the environmental crisis.

Wellbeing Manager (fixed term contract until 31.12.26 with potential to extend, subject to funding)

Cavell is the charity that transforms the lives of nursing and midwifery professionals facing crisis and tough times. The need for Cavell has never been greater, and the charity is at its most critical point in its 108-year history as the demand for support is at an all-time high. Cavell is evolving their support offer to offer a Wellbeing Conversations service on a 12-month pilot aiming to help nursing and midwifery professionals to navigate feelings of stress, overwhelm or uncertainty.

The Role

We are looking for a compassionate, non-judgemental and empathetic individual who is experienced at supporting individuals in a Wellbeing role to co-deliver the Wellbeing Conversations Service. The successful candidate will use a blend of reflective listening, coaching-style questions, practical guidance and signposting to help nursing and midwifery professionals explore their stress, develop healthy coping mechanisms and empower them to address personal and work factors which are contributing to their stress.

This position operates as a job-share, and we are looking for someone to join the existing postholder in delivering the role.

Applicants should be comfortable working collaboratively and communicating effectively to provide seamless coverage and share responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

Service Delivery:

• Deliver Cavell’s Wellbeing Conversations service including conducting triage calls and delivering virtual Wellbeing sessions ensuring high-quality delivery, consistency, and responsiveness to demand.
• Ensure exceptional record keeping, ensuring that all relevant data protection and privacy legislation is adhered to.
• Undertake administrative duties to support the delivery of the service, including data entry.
• Have regular peer supervision with their job-share.

Collaboration:

• Work with the Support Team, wider staff, and external stakeholders to identify common themes, challenges, and emerging issues affecting the nursing and midwifery workforce.
• Engage with referral partners and the funder to maintain effective working relationships.

• Co-lead on the evaluation of the Cavell Wellbeing Conversations service including building surveys, analysing data and creating reports.

About the opportunity
Working closely with the Corporate Partnerships Manager and wider Philanthropy Department, the Corporate Partnerships Coordinator will identify and cultivate fruitful partnerships with a range of small, medium and large businesses.
They will help maximise the potential of corporate and other organisations for funding, volunteer recruitment, and other philanthropic opportunities, to enable growth and sustainability for Action Tutoring. Experience of stakeholder management both internal and external; and designing and delivering complex analysis and evaluations is required.

With one direct report, we require a seasoned manager / lead and the person applying should also have proficiency in statistical analysis software (e.g., SPSS, R, Python) for advanced data analysis and modelling (e.g. logic models, theory of change and other evaluation models), and experience in using survey tools and software for data collection and analysis.

Role outline and purpose

The Development Manager – Trusts & Foundations is responsible for delivering new relationships with a wide spectrum of Trusts and Foundations to grow our portfolio of high value funding partners. Responsible for developing compelling propositions and applications that drive transformational funding for our strategic programmes of work, maximising income generation, though prospecting, cultivating and securing funding to deliver against our strategic objectives and ambitious income targets.

This role is part of the Together with Trussell programme, the goal of which is to build stronger connections with our supporters, partners and donors in order to increase funding, campaigning, and other forms of support for our work. As a member of an enabling programme, this role is focused on the successful delivery of the Together with Trussell programme outcomes, which underpin and enable the outcomes of our 5 external programmes - together contributing to the fulfilment of our long term vision of a UK without the need for food banks.

Role responsibilities

· Work with the Programme Funding team to deliver our income generation strategy, meeting income targets based on long term financial forecasts, by proactively developing new opportunities, propositions and relationships with a wide variety of Trusts and Foundations – including corporate foundations, family trusts and institutional trusts.

· Proactively identify, develop and nurture relationships with potential funders to maximise fundraising potential.

· Work alongside the High Value Partnerships team to ensure new funders are onboarded and handed over to account management and supporting with compelling propositions to uplift and retain their support.

· Provide line management support to the Development Officer – Trusts.

· Collaborate with our marketing and content teams to ensure we can communicate the impact of our high value supporters on our mission.

Person Specification

Technical skills and minimum knowledge:

· High value fundraising experience, preferably including raising funds from Trusts and Foundations, delivering strategic partnerships, or applicable commercial background.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to analyse data and budgets and use CRM software.

· Ability to establish credibility quickly with a range of stakeholders, with the influencing and clear communication skills.

Working location: mostly remote work with some travel required. Based in Surrey or Hampshire you will deliver a face-to-face service to clients in their own home or safe meeting place across the Surrey and Hampshire area as well as providing support by Teams, phone, email or other means to suit the service user. Why this role is important: Every 20 minutes, someone is killed or seriously injured on UK roads. For families affected, the emotional and practical challenges are immense. As a Caseworker, you will provide trauma-informed care to individuals and families suffering from the sudden bereavement or life-altering injury of a loved one. Working mostly remotely, with some home visits to service users, you’ll offer vital emotional and practical support—including helping them access therapeutic resources, financial assistance, and guidance through the complexities of medical and legal processes.

Full training will be provided under the guidance of our dedicated Training Officer.  Key Responsibilities

• Build and grow relationships with schools, colleges, youth clubs and local communities
• Focus on expanding our reach in areas of multiple deprivation and underrepresentation
• Deliver and support the rollout of YE programmes in schools and other settings
• Recruit, train and support volunteers—making sure they feel valued and inspired
• Work with your regional team to meet shared goals and celebrate local impact
• Help secure local funding by supporting fundraising efforts and managing project deliverables
• Support the planning of events, trade fairs and celebrations for young people
• Keep accurate records, track impact, and make sure safeguarding is front and centre

A few practical things:

• This is a hands-on role—you’ll sometimes be lifting resources, setting up venues and travelling regularly
• You’ll need to be happy occasionally working evenings or weekends during peak delivery times – with time off in lieu (TOIL) available and travel expenses all covered
• Expect to be on your feet during some events or sessions—it’s all part of the fun!
