As a charity we are able to help thousands of cats each year thanks to the generous donations we receive from members of the public. Our fundraising volunteers use their passion for cats and people to raise the vital funds needed to help more cats and kittens in need. As a fundraising volunteer we want to support you to fundraise in whatever way suits you best – whether that’s organising a fundraising event, fundraising online, promoting fundraising activities on social media, completing administration or supporting the development of new fundraising ideas! We need community Fundraising Volunteers to help at fundraising events in our local community. The role is on an ad-hoc and flexible basis and helps us raise vital funds to continue to support local bereaved children and their families.
Fundraising volunteer activities may include:
- Fundraising collections (supermarkets, stations etc.)
- Supporting at outdoor / sporting events (marshalling courses, teas and coffees etc.)
- Evening events (taking tickets, raffle, serving drinks etc.)
- Fundraising admin support (helping with various administrative tasks)
- Store events (charity bag packing, Christmas gift wrapping etc.)
- Running/supporting a stall/stand/activity at an event (i.e. craft activities, info stand etc.)
- Volunteering at the Hever Castle Triathlon/Colour run/Commando Series events Christmas collections/carol singing locally.
- Serving cakes/teas and coffees at coffee morning-style events.
- Helping to look after a stand at profile-raising events.
How regular are the volunteering opportunities?
The Community Fundraising role is a flexible ad-hoc role, with the opportunity to volunteer as much or as little as you wish. Volunteers will be contacted by email with the opportunities available in advance of the event and will be asked to respond if they are available to help on that day. There is no minimum expectation, but we hope that you would be able to volunteer at least once a year.
Where will the volunteering opportunities take place?
East Grinstead (RH19) and surrounding areas throughout Surrey, West Sussex, East Sussex and West Kent (volunteers may choose).
Our policy is that volunteers will be accompanied by either a Jigsaw (South East) staff member or senior volunteer, so you would never be left on your own.
Is training required?
No training is required for this role. However, you will receive relevant information about the charity and your role prior to attending your first fundraising activity.

Role title: Volunteer Youth Support Assistant
Short description of role: Supporting our Connect! service for young people aged 9-18 with Autistic Spectrum Conditions. Activities range from a social board games & Lego group to kayaking, archery and bushcraft.
Long description of role: Involve’s Connect! service is funded by Kent County Council’s Short Breaks scheme. The purpose is for young people aged 9-18 with Autistic Spectrum Conditions to have a space to meet and build friendships with other young people in an autism friendly environment. The aims are for the young people to build their confidence, independence, and life skills in a safe space. As a volunteer, you would provide valuable support to the young people at activities which have previously included pizza making, arts and crafts, kayaking, archery and bushcraft as well as a regular group that meets and plays board games and Lego. It would not be necessary to join every activity but regularly enough for the young people to build relationships and trust with you at the group. Duties would involve supporting the Youth Programme Coordinator to get the young people settled at the beginning of the session and making drinks for parents and young people. You may also be encouraging young people who are feeling anxious to participate in activities by being a source of support to them and making them feel more comfortable. Most importantly, you will be supporting the group to stay safe and comfortable while trying new experiences.

Skills that the volunteer may need: Good listening and communication. Previous experience of working with young people is desirable but not essential.

Job Description:
The Photographic Collections Network (PCN) is seeking an interim Treasurer with expertise in accountancy and/or charity finance and reporting to join our board of Trustees.
We are on the journey to becoming a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO), and this will bring great opportunities for us to expand our reach and provide support for the UKs photographic collections and heritage. We are looking for people to help us to build this potential so we can better deliver on our aims. Are you the person that can help lead this change?
You will oversee the financial matters of the Photographic Collections Network in line with good practice and in accordance with the governing document and legal requirements, and report to the Board of Trustees at regular intervals about the financial health of the organisation. The interim Treasurer will ensure that effective financial measures, controls and procedures are put in place, and are appropriate for the charity.
PCN welcomes applications from people of all backgrounds and would love to hear from applicants who belong to groups underrepresented in the charitable sector.
Job requirements:
Our ideal candidate for the interim Treasurer would have accountancy qualification or an equivalent level of experience and expertise in accountancy and charity finance and reporting. A person working in Finance, Governance, Legal, with Charity experience either through an executive or previous Trustee role would be suitable. The candidate Ideally would have professional experience with organisational Governance and Financial management. A background in the photography or understanding of collections sector is not necessary but an enthusiasm and interest in the charitable sector is. If you have any of the skills listed above, we would love to hear from you.
Job responsibilities:

We provide support and guidance from our National Cat Centre and through our regional and local volunteer groups and teams. About the opportunity
We need dedicated volunteers to join our friendly team at our store on Wilton Road in the popular shopping area of Victoria. If you have a passion for fashion (especially second-hand), amazing customer service skills and you are keen to learn new skills, then this opportunity is for you. As a volunteer you will also be involved in receiving, sorting, steaming, and pricing our lovely donations, serving at the till, and using your creativity to create displays around the shop. Training will be provided. As a volunteer, you will be helping to raise money for the Octavia Foundation and support the work we do in the local community.
