Addenbrookes Charitable Trust (ACT) is the only fundraising charity dedicated to supporting the Addenbrooke's and Rosie Hospitals to do more.
Thousands of people come through the doors of Addenbrooke's every day. We need your help to raise awareness of how people can support cancer services across Addenbrooke's.
As an ACT Information Hub Volunteer you will be the fact of ACT. You'll be based on our new Hospital Hub in the oncology department, talking to people about our charity, and raising awareness of the different ways that they can get involved. Whether this be via donating, fundraising, or even recruiting new volunteers for our charity.
We are looking for someone who is friendly, enjoys talking to a wide range of people and passionate about supporting cancer services across Addenbrooke's.
You will be joining a growing, friendly volunteer team and the time you give will make a real difference to people's lives.
Training for the role will be provided as well as ongoing support. We are looking for volunteers to give their time on a weekday with an aim of volunteering for a minimum of 6 months.
We will cover travel expenses and provide a reference after two months in the team.

The Afghanistan and Central Asian Association (ACAA) is looking for enthusiastic volunteers to support refugees and asylum seekers in learning English in its project in Lambeth.
Who we are:
ACAA works to empower and support refugees and asylum seekers by providing vital services that enable successful integration. These include English classes, mentoring, drop-in advice sessions, a legal surgery, employment and education training, counter-extremism workshops and youth and women's engagement services.
Role Summary:
Working as part of a small dynamic ESOL teaching team, responsibility for lesson planning and delivery will be shared between yourself and more experienced teachers. You will have the opportunity to shadow teachers and gain practical teaching experience before leading lessons. Classes meet in-person in Lambeth on evenings weekdays.

What will you be doing?
We operate in a challenging environment. As with all charities working in adult social care, budgets have been tightened and we need to ensure that we continue to deliver high quality services in difficult times. It is an exciting time for the charity as we look to grow our Health & Wellbeing Services as well as reopening our Day Services provision and further develop our Dementia Services.
As a Trustee you will work in partnership with your fellow Trustees and the Chief Executive Officer to agree the long-term vision and strategic objectives of the charity which will include how best to enhance our services and make best use of our assets and investments. Your role as Trustee is also to ensure that the Charity complies with the necessary charitable and company governance frameworks. You will need to be able to devote time to attend the Board meetings which take place bimonthly from 6pm -8pm (usually on a Tuesday).

At MHA Communities East Surrey we support older people to live independently in their own homes and communities. We offer a variety of social activities and services for people aged 55 and over. We currently need Befrienders in Reigate, Horley, Banstead, Redhill and surrounding areas.
Some of our MHA community members are socially isolated and feeling lonely. As a Befriender you’ll be matched with a member and visit them regularly in their own home to bring friendship, company, and a chance to chat. The Marie Curie Community Hub is a new and exciting hub located right in the centre of the bustling Gloucester Road in Bristol. We are looking for volunteers to support running and developing a calendar of activities and events run from the hub, if you love talking to new people then this may be the right volunteering role for you.
The Community Hub provides a unique environment for anyone affected by terminal illness to access Marie Curie’s expert Information and to learn about the support the charity provides, we are looking for volunteers who will be able to signpost people towards these Marie Curie services.

JOB DESCRIPTION
Why we need your help
The Marie Curie Dementia Befriending service is provided by trained volunteers who offer one-to-one companionship and support to people with a terminal illness that have dementia and their families. The service would not be able to reach those most in need if it was not for the commitment and hard work of the volunteers delivering the service.
Befriender volunteers provide companionship and emotional support, practical support, short breaks for carers and help with signposting for information and support.
What we need you to do
Your role will include, some of, but not restricted to the following tasks:
- Complete all initial mandatory Dementia Befriender volunteer training, as well as any refresher training whilst you are a Marie Curie volunteer
- Carry out weekly visits with the person(s) you’re supporting, as agreed with the Volunteer Co-ordinator. This could be in a variety of settings, for example in a family’s home, in a care home or out in the community.
- Provide one to one companionship and support. For example - Offering a listening ear and spending time engaging in everyday conversation, activities or hobbies with the person you are supporting. Accompanying them to an appointment, social groups or taking short trips out. Helping with small daily tasks eg making tea or accessing the internet. Allowing carers to have a short break. Signposting to relevant local support services or finding out information as requested.
(This list is only an outline as support will vary according to the needs of those using the service. Dementia Befriender volunteers do not provide nursing or personal care, or offer counselling or advice)
- Driving clients to pre-arranged health or social care (eg to chemotherapy appointments or day therapy at the hospice)
- Follow all mandatory procedures that form part of the Dementia Befriending service. Examples include submitting written report forms, identifying and briefing a lone worker Buddy, and following procedures for lone worker safety.
- Keep your manager informed of any changes to the situation, or any significant happenings in connection to the person you’re supporting and/or their family, either in person or by phone
- Be reliable and committed to regularly spending time with someone and offering support
- Attend group events and training sessions for Marie Curie Dementia Befriender volunteers
- Attend individual sessions with your Volunteer Co-ordinator as required
- Represent the Marie Curie Dementia Befriending service positively to those using the service
- Support with Advanced Care Planning for clients
What skills or experience do you need?
- Commitment and reliability - able to keep appointments and volunteer for approximately 3 hours a week
- Patience, empathy and emotional stability
- An understanding of the importance of confidentiality
- Willing to be flexible to the needs of the individual
- Ability to operate within the boundaries of the role
- A friendly and sensitive approach

Cats Protection is the UK’s leading feline welfare charity and our vision is a world where every cat is treated with kindness and an understanding of its needs.

We help thousands of cats across the UK each year thanks to our network of dedicated volunteers, staff and supporters.
A bit about this role
Across the UK, many cats are cared for by volunteer fosterers who provide a stable, safe and loving environment in their homes or in purpose-built pens in their gardens. They provide vital hands-on care and accommodation to stray or abandoned cats or cats whose owners could sadly no longer keep them, and are part of a dedicated team of volunteers committed to finding new homes for cats in need. Our fosterers carry out this role with support from their local branch or centre.
Most of our fosterers care for one or two cats at a time and enjoy providing lots of TLC to those cats, who have been pre-loved or have had a difficult start in life. Some of our fosterers look after new mums and kittens and provide round-the-clock care to newborns to give them the best start in life.
What can you expect to be doing?
- Meeting the needs of the cats and kittens in your care
- Cleaning and looking after the cats’ environment and equipment
- Feeding, grooming and administering medication
- Spending time enriching the cats’ experience in care including; play, exercise and stroking

Time expectation
Our volunteer fosterers usually spend one and a half hours per day on average (around 10 to 13 hours per week) in this role, but this might vary depending on the number of cats or kittens in care. In order to help you feel confident in your fosterer role we ask that prior to looking after your first foster cat you complete some online cat welfare learning modules.
Support, guidance and keeping you safe
At Cats Protection we believe our volunteers should be happy and confident in their roles. We provide support and guidance from our National Cat Centre and through our regional and local volunteer groups and teams. We offer engaging online and face-to-face training, expenses and have policies and processes to help volunteers get the most out of their time with us.

HeadsOut Imago group: Trans, Non-Binary Support Group – Volunteer Co-Facilitator
Imago is a peer support group for trans, non-binary and non-cisgender people offering a safe, identity affirming space for support to improve their mental health, emotional and social well-being and through community connection. Imago aims to support members with shared struggles and challenges that they may commonly face as non-cis people, to help them find and celebrate genuine joy and self-confidence. It meets every Wednesday between 7pm and 8:30 pm, currently online via Microsoft Teams.

HeadsOut is a strengths-based crisis prevention, intervention and wellbeing LGBT+ support service.
Our aim is to enhance people’s wellbeing and functioning by focusing on their strengths and resources, reinforcing resilience and enhancing protective external factors, including creating safe spaces, community connection, a sense of belonging, empowerment and affirmation.

Our House Experience Volunteers add the sparkle to any visit – giving everyone a warm welcome, bringing stories from Ickworth to life and helping people get the best out of their day.
This role will suit you if you are:
- Warm and friendly.
- Someone with a curious and inquisitive nature, with an ability to engage our visitors, ask questions and facilitate conversations.
- Able to listen thoughtfully and actively.
- Someone with exceptional customer service standards- a desire to put visitors before everything else.
- A good storyteller, with a talent for reading body language and thinking on your feet
- Sensitive to visitor and volunteer needs – working as an effective team member.
- Willing to develop your knowledge of Ickworth, its history and vast collections.
Tasks and responsibilities
- Responding to the diverse needs of visitors, including people with additional access needs.
- Sharing inspirational stories, curious facts and practical information or simply the space for visitors to wander at their own pace.
- Helping visitors to discover more, answering questions and making suggestions so they can enjoy their day, their way.
- Being an ambassador for the whole property and the National Trust. Helping visitors understand the full scope of the offer at Ickworth beyond the house.
- Learning more about Ickworth, so you can share your knowledge and stories of the family and their collections with visitors.
- Responding to the changing needs of Ickworth – supporting ongoing interpretation strategies in the House.
- Supporting with health and safety and evacuation procedures if required.
- Being part of a team that may need to adapt and change in response to local needs, National Trust priorities or changes to government guidelines

We currently have a volunteering opportunity in the Harpurhey area for a Volunteer Befriender. If you have a couple of hours to spare and can commit to volunteering on a weekly basis, we’d love to hear from you.
Are you a warm and chatty person, who’s also a good listener?
Are you looking to help someone gain confidence and engage with the local community? Maybe going for walks, or, trips to a local café.
Can you commit to learning Creative Support’s Safeguarding Procedure and be able to implement this if needed?
And, most importantly are you a big football fan, preferably Man City! Do you know who scored the most goals last season and which player is up for transfer? Are you interested in plane spotting? We have a gentlemen who is new to the area and requires support to help him get to know the local area and to explore what activities he is interested in as well as accessing community groups to build on his social network.
We are looking for a reliable, friendly, outgoing and supportive person who can join us as a Volunteer Befriender.
As a volunteer with Creative Support we offer training for your role, access to a volunteer supervisor, an induction, a monthly volunteer newsletter, and an online volunteer’s peer support group. Together we can make a difference.
Suggested time commitment: 2-4 hours per week
Can you commit to any of the following days and times?:
