We are looking for a motivated, creative, and organised Engagement and Communications Officer to join our team. This role is a unique opportunity for someone with a passion for building a fairer legal system through impactful events, engaging member outreach, and powerful communications. Working alongside the Director of Development and the Head of Communications, this role will work across teams to maintain and strengthen engagement through events, communications and corporate outreach. You will play an integral role in communicating our work as widely as possible and improving and increasing engagement with our supporters, including our members, donors and corporate partners.
The Engagement and Communications Officer will work to maximise income and support for JUSTICE through events (approximately 45% of the role), communications (approximately 30% of the role) and membership (approximately 25% of the role). They will report to the Director of Development and Head of Communications.
We want someone who can learn and grow in this role so if you don’t have every skill listed but are organised, motivated, and interested in our work then we want to hear from you.
The JUSTICE team currently work in a hybrid manner. Staff members have access to office space in London, however, attendance is currently optional. Legal services are central to BEO. We are therefore looking for someone of 4yrs PQE who has experience in social welfare, human rights, public and administration law and who seeks an opportunity to use those skills specifically in the area of challenging systemic racism.
In the last year we have been developing our relationships with partner organisations, ranging from community groups, our stakeholder law firms, NGOs and law firms experienced in equality and discrimination law, to deliver legal services. The role holder will be required to build on and expand these relationships so that BEO can offer quality legal advice to Back communities in the nations and regions across the United Kingdom.
We are building our internal legal team so that we can provide targeted legal support to Black communities. We are looking for someone to work with the Director of Legal Services and Policy to ensure that high quality legal advice, support and representation are the hallmark of BEO.
Apart from delivering targeted legal advice and representation and identifying and running strategic litigation cases, the role holder will be required to think creatively to assist in fundraising and campaigning to develop a sustainable legal service. BEO does not have a Legal Aid Agency contract so self funds all legal work.
BEO is a small team, so the role holder must have the skills and confidence to work on their own initiative as well as with members of other teams in BEO.

POSITION SUMMARY:
Performs Accounts Payable function; processes transactions in the accounting system and maintains accounts payable files for vendors. Primary point of contact for questions and assistance regarding entry and payment of invoices.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
· Subject matter expert on Unit 4 ERP System Vendor Master File and accounts payable, provide support to other Internews staff also entering invoices.
· Prepare and enter multi-currency invoices for all payment methods (Barclays wire Transfers, ACH, check, FX, Western Union, etc.), including review for proper coding and approvals.
· Review and research open payables to resolve outstanding issues prior to payment.

Role Context
ALIMA UK is in its start-up phase and is made up of a small team. This period is exciting at times unpredictable. Lambeth Step Forward Recovery Cluster is an accommodation based service, set across Lambeth including hub sites situated in Brixton and West Norwood. The service provides care and support to over 60 customers living with enduring long term mental health. We also provide a service for two short-term post hospital discharge schemes for customers, who need support following hospital admission.
The role of our Support Worker play's a crucial role in fulfilling our customers expectations, making a positive difference and where appropriate supporting customers to step down to a lower level of support. Our Support Worker's are guided and mentored by 2 team leaders alongside a Contract Manager and as part of the team you will be developing and sustaining a good quality service to all our customers.
