Philanthropy and Partnerships Manager

We are seeking a dynamic, strategic and relationship-driven Philanthropy and Partnerships Manager to lead on growing and stewarding First Give’s portfolio of high-value funders. This role will focus on securing income from High Net Worth Individuals and developing corporate partnerships – from first engagement to account management and delivery.

You will play a pivotal role in shaping First Give’s income growth, working closely with our Deputy Director. This role will also support key engagement activities, including hosting donors at student-led Final events and facilitating employee volunteering at schools.

• Work with the Deputy Director and members of the Campaign Board to develop a proactive pipeline of corporate partners, focusing on strategic alignment, mutual benefit and long-term value

Donor Engagement and Stewardship

About the London LGBTQ+ Community Centre

The London LGBTQ+ Community Centre is an award-winning charity launched by a team of volunteers in 2017. In December 2021 we opened our first physical space in London's bankside.

Our mission is to provide London with a sober, intersectional, intergenerational, community centre and café where all LGBTQ+ people feel welcome and supported, can build connections, and flourish. Our vision is for a more connected, belonging and thriving LGBTQ+ community in London.

You will lead all aspects of charity financial and resource management for two separate but closely connected charities, the Army Cadet Charitable Trust UK (ACCT UK) and the Combined Cadet Force Association (CCFA), which are supported by a single head office team. We are looking for someone to bring enthusiasm, personal credibility, discretion and sensitivity. You will be ultimately responsible for Finance and Resource Management within the charities.
You will work directly with the trustees of both charities and the wider Senior Leadership Team (SLT) which comprises of the Director of Development, the Deputy Chief Executive (DCE) (Director of HR and Programmes), and the Chief Executive. You will have primary responsibility for ensuring that the charities meet their statutory obligations, that financial functions are well ordered and support the work of the charities.
Managing and leading a small and diverse team through high pressure periods including month end, year-end and annual budgeting, you require high emotional intelligence and excellent communication skills. You will work closely with staff at all levels, often having to mentor the charities’ managers to help them plan and manage their own budgets.
Your financial responsibilities are substantial as you will have overall control and responsibility for all financial matters. You will be thinking both strategically and seeing the big picture, whilst also analysing figures in detail to ensure that the financial management of both charities are sound. The Role:

The Office Manager and HR Admin will be responsible for overseeing onboarding, health & Safety and human resources functions pertaining to all employees. The role holder will also be responsible for maintaining the office space, administration and any related governance. This role will provide administration support to the Board of Trustees and act as Company Secretary to the Trust. 

Responsibilities:

Office:

• Develop and implement office policies and procedures to ensure smooth operations and compliance with company standards.       
• Ensure the office space meets all Health & Safety regulations, including correct up-to-date H&S information made available to staff via noticeboard or similar.
• Owns and maintains positive and productive relationships with property management and third-party vendors and is point of contact for the building management team in case of any issues and for building information sharing.

Health & Safety:

•  To assume the role of the Health & Safety Officer.
•  Responsible for all Health and Safety matters, ensuring that up-to-date legal requirements are met and put in place to ensure the Charity meets the criteria for the yearly Health & Safety assessment.
•  Liaise with building management, contractors, and suppliers and escalate any risks or issues as appropriate.
•  Provide up to date information and documentation to the team confirming First Aiders and Fire Wardens, ensuring this information is kept up-to-date on SharePoint, in the office and relevant documentation
•  Attend training regularly as necessary in keeping with any new legislation.

Human Resources:

• Assist with the recruitment process, including posting job openings, scheduling interviews, and coordinating candidate communication.
• Create and maintain employee HR accounts.
• Onboard and offboard employees adhering to correct processes & procedures, ensuring payroll and benefits information is shared with respective external companies.
• Responsible for sharing all updates relating to new employee training and employment law updates.
• Responsible for ensuring correct relevant policies are in place and filed away correctly.
• Working alongside the legal team to instigate and resolve any employment disputes.
• Responsible for the Charities' insurance renewals & cost reviews, ensuring adequate cover is always in place.

Company Secretarial:

• Administrator to the Board of Trustees.
• Field and action all incoming emails relating to the Charity Commission and Companies House.
• Provide support to ensure all submissions are made ahead of deadlines and recording of tasks in the allocated SharePoint areas.
• Coordinate and schedule all Trustee meetings ensuring all documents are returned ahead of deadlines.

Skill set requirements:

• Proven experience as an Office Manager or similar senior administrative role.
• Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) SharePoint and other relevant software applications.
• Knowledge of HR processes, resourcing, and Health & Safety regulations is desirable or the willingness to train in these areas.

We’re looking for a Finance Officer to join our close-knit finance team. You will work closely with the Financial Controller on the charity’s accounting, financial reporting and budgeting processes. The Project Manager/Business Analyst role forms part of the PMO Team. The role will include management of priority projects across the Stewardship agile change portfolio, as well as the analysis and improvement of business processes across Stewardship. The role will also work with our Technology team members to improve workflow, through identifying and resolving challenges and dependencies, enabling teams to more effectively deliver organisational priority projects and BAU activities. The successful delivery of projects and improving our business processes, is an essential part of enabling us to achieve our strategic objectives.

The role holder will work cross-functionally across the organisation to ensure we achieve our change targets, through delivering projects on time, to budget and required level of quality, as well as improving business processes across Stewardship Teams. You will be supporting the organisation to develop new agile, collaborative ways of working, and the role holder will need to help others understand the benefits of working within the Agile framework.

Senior Finance Manager | £57,500 - £68,900 | Permanent | Fully Remote / Home Based

For the UK's largest not-for-profit social enterprise in the employment and social mobility sector, we are recruiting a Senior Finance Manager. This role will provide high quality financial information and analysis to senior managers and external stakeholders supporting decision-making. This is a highly commercial role, which is key in ensuring service quality is maximised, and financial performance targets are achieved. The Senior Finance Manager will lead a team of 4 and will suit someone happy to work fully remotely whilst developing excellent relationships across a large, multi-location organisation.

Main Duties:

• Budgeting and Cost Control - Lead divisional budget setting and forecasting process
• Coordinate monthly key variance summary in financial performance and KPIs for senior management and external funders and commissioners
• Interpret and present complex financial information to non-finance managers, supporting decision-making and improvements to budget and forecast performance
• Financial Reporting - Maintain robust financial controls across the division and coordinate the audit process with the financial reporting team. Preparation of year end accounts, liaising with auditors
• Lead the team to produce external financial returns to funders, dealing with queries
• Financial Analysis - Support business planning process, and short- and medium-term financial targets, partnering with Operational MDs and Senior Leaders.
• Lead the production of the multi-year financial forecast with the FP&A team
• Lead in planning and managing the year-end accounts closedown process
• Lead and develop workflows to ensure month-end processes are robust
• Work with Project Accounting team to provide finance support in costing, pricing, and tendering of new business opportunities
• Lead and motivate a team of Finance Managers and Management Accountants

Person Specification:

• CCAB Qualified
• Substantial experience of working at senior level in financial management across a complex organisation, ideally working on high-profile contracts with external funders
• Experience leading and motivating a team
• Experience leading strategic work streams supporting annual accounting cycle and longer-term financial planning requirements
• Experience of financial planning, costing, and option / investment appraisals
• Experience of budgeting, planning, reporting, and supporting budget holders
• Experience of FRS and charity SORP would be highly desirable

Details of Job

The Systems and Administration Officer will be responsible for the effective running of Heart of the City’s systems and administrative processes, ensuring that digital tools are utilised in the most effective way, and governance, finance and business support processes are delivered efficiently.

The post holder will manage the delivery of key IT, finance, governance and administrative processes. This includes ensuring the legal compliance, effectiveness and security of cloud services and software used by the team, supporting the director with financial planning and administration and managing calendars, governance systems and general correspondence. The post-holder will also be a key contact point both internally and externally; this includes senior stakeholders on the Board of Trustees and Council of Members. They will also support the team with day-to-day office management and queries with software and cloud service usage, with a view to streamlining systems where possible.
