For a Children's Trust providing support and social care for children, young people and families in the Midlands, we are recruiting an Interim Head of Finance. Reporting to the Director of Resources, this is a key role in the strategic leadership team helping shape the future of care and support for young people in the area. We’re seeking a Finance Manager to lead robust financial reporting and governance across 80 parish sites, while supporting central operations from our Crawley base.

In this key role, you’ll produce timely and accurate management accounts, oversee cloud-based reporting, and lead on the preparation of annual statutory accounts. You’ll be the primary contact for external auditors and play a central part in reporting to our Trustees and Diocesan Finance Committee.

You’ll also manage cashflow forecasting, tax compliance, treasury and investment activity, and VAT (for one subsidiary). Charity sector experience is highly desirable, but your collaborative, flexible leadership—especially of a diverse network of staff and volunteer finance teams—will be most essential.

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, you’ll oversee the support of cloud-based reporting for 80 parish sites and the delivery of timely, accurate management accounts for central operations based at our Crawley site. You will have a key role in providing high-quality financial reporting to our Trustees and Diocesan Finance Committee (DFC). You'll also lead the team in producing statutory audited accounts, acting as the principal contact for external auditors.

With additional responsibility for cashflow forecasting, treasury and investment management, tax compliance, VAT (for one subsidiary), and gift aid, this role ensures that the Diocese maintains robust financial governance. While Charity sector experience is a significant advantage in this position, it is your flexible and positive leadership of a diverse staff and volunteer finance community across some 80 sites that will set you apart.

Group Financial Controller | £675 - £700 per day (Umbrella) | Hybrid | London | 12-months

For a large international organisation, we are recruiting an Interim Group Financial Controller to focus on their short-term cash flow forecast model, intercompany, and trapped cash. Critically, this role will fully implement and embed the use of a 13-week short term cashflow forecast and will oversee the cash repatriation to the UK from overseas entities, liaising with Treasury, Tax, FP&A, Group Statutory Reporting, and the MSP. The Group Financial Controller will also lead monthly close, balance sheet integrity, intercompany processes and compliance, and develop insight and understanding of the company's working capital to drive initiatives to optimise.

Main Duties:

• Fully develop and embed the short-term 13-week cash flow forecast and process notes with the goal of transferring this to the MSP
• Coordinate work across Financial Control, Tax, and Treasury to improve cash repatriations to the UK (trapped cash)
• Leadership of change across global financial control activities including monthly-close, balance sheet integrity, intercompany processes and financial regulation compliance
• Partner with business units and regions to support change in the transactional finance activities, monthly close and financial compliance is carried out.

About the role

Reporting in to the Financial Planning & Analysis Lead, the Payroll Manager is a key role within our Finance team responsible for managing all aspects of Christian Aid's Global payroll function ensuring full compliance with relevant national and international legislation regarding salaries, income tax, pensions, national insurance and equivalent schemes (UK and overseas) requiring completeness and accuracy in all aspects to meet organisational needs.

The main areas of responsibility for the post-holder will be:

-Ensure process and systems are in place to facilitate payment for all Christian Aid and contract employees are accurate, on time, in compliance with all local (i.e. both UK and non-UK) legislation on tax and other deductions, and in accordance with Christian Aid employment policies and procedures.

About the Choir with No Name

The Choir with No Name has been running choirs involving people impacted by homelessness and marginalisation since 2008, and we currently have choirs in Birmingham, Liverpool, London, Cardiff, Coventry, Sheffield and Brighton. We were founded on the premise that singing makes you feel good; it distracts you from all the nonsense in life and helps you to build confidence, skills and genuine, long-lasting friendships. Each choir gets together to rehearse every week and share a meal together at the end of rehearsal. Our values are family, fun, inclusion and integrity.

We are looking for maternity cover for our part-time Finance and Data Administrator role. As Finance and Data Administrator, you should have a proactive mindset and a positive attitude. The Park Centre is a community resource that provides a range of services, activities and meeting spaces for people of all ages in its neighbourhood. Our aim is to provide recreational, learning, business and social activities, which are accessible and affordable and meet our charitable aims.

Purpose of the role

 

The Community Centre Manager will play a key role in the leadership and smooth running of the Community Centre managing change, growth and performance as agreed with the Board of Trustees.

Working closely with the trustees, employees, consultants, contractors, volunteers and other local organisations, the Manager will work to ensure the Community Centre is a vibrant, well-managed facility that operates within a sustainable framework for the benefit of local residents and organisations. They will also promote the profile, role and impact of the Centre.

 

Principle duties and responsibilities

Management of the Community Centre

 

Manage the operations of the Community Centre and its staff and the development and delivery of activities and facilities in line with the business and strategic plan. Ensure compliance with employment law and that we follow good practice with regard to HR.

Contribute to the planning, development, implementation and delivery of the business and strategic plan and present regular progress updates to the Board.

Oversee the maintenance of the building - including building maintenance and improvement programmes.

Lead on and contribute to identifying and apply for funding from local and national organisations. Role will also lead on ensuring aims are met and reporting of outcomes to funding organisation.

Manage and monitor all aspects of risk assessments, health and safety and security as required by regulation or good practice including, in conjunction with the Trustees, the review and updating of policies and procedure.

Ensure all Community Centre policies and procedures are complied with, including any Government restrictions/guidance.

Lead on General Data Protection Regulation and Safeguarding, maintaining records to ensure the charity fulfils all its legal, statutory and regulatory responsibilities.

Ensure programme of activities delivered within the Park Centre align with the charitable aims of the organisation and ensure that it is relevant to local community, responding to needs and raising the profile of the Centre.

 

Management of staff and Volunteers

Create a positive working environment in which equality and diversity are well managed, dignity at work is upheld and staff and volunteers can achieve their best.

Ensure effective management of HR including recruitment, supervision and development of employees and volunteers, including carrying out DBS checks as necessary.

Keeping up to date with relevant legislation and best working practices.

Ensure employees, consultants, contractors, volunteers work collaboratively with each other and with users of the facilities, in a safe and constructive way.

Oversee the Community Centre’s complaints procedure, and the proper handling, investigation and resolution of any complaints against the Centre, its staff and volunteers.

 

Working with Others 

Continue developing and maintaining relationships with various local partners to ensure activities at the Community Centre fit with others provided in the area. 

Positively represent the Centre and the community at partner and other meetings/events to raise the profile of the Community Centre and to ensure the views and needs of the community are prioritised and included.

Continue to strengthen the reputation of the Community Centre by giving maximum visibility to its activities and achievements.

Ensure through listening to the community, monitoring and evaluating provision and adapting the service, the Centre meets the needs of the local community.

Prepare reports for and attend all Board and annual general meetings.

 

PR/Marketing and Fundraising

Oversee the development and implementation of an income generation & marketing strategy.  

Develop strategies to promote the use and profile of the Community Centre, maximising use of social media, publicity opportunities and liaison with the local media.  

Identify and secure new funding through grant applications and other means.  

Continue maintaining and developing positive relationships with funders, both grant makers, sponsors and individuals.

Financial management

Liaise with the treasurer and accountant in setting and managing budgets and maintain an overview of the financial position of the Community Centre.

Code invoices to ensure that income and expenditure is allocated to correct projects. 

Ensure completion of reports/returns to statutory bodies and funders and compilation of grant applications. 

Ensure best practice in all financial matters.

 

Project Management 

Support and oversee the continued delivery of high-quality services and activities.

Ensure all project leads are liaised with regularly to ensure compliance with objectives and outcomes.

Devise and implement robust impact monitoring and evaluation strategies for all projects. 

Ensure all projects are correctly risk assessed and supported.

The Park Centre Kingswood has a small team of employees, contractors, volunteers and a wide range of activities. it is expected that the post holder will be flexible in assisting in areas of work which go beyond their main duties. In particular, the holder of this post will be expected to assist with covering frontline reception and administrative duties and attendance at and/or supervision of events outside of normal working hours.

The Role:

This is a pivotal role, offering broad administrative support to our small, dynamic team. You'll be the go-to person for a range of essential functions, from a broad range of administrative tasks and supporting our board to handling general enquiries and providing comprehensive administrative assistance. Your efficiency and attention to detail will be key to helping us deliver our mission effectively.

You'll be responsible for:

• Finance Administration: Processing invoices and expenses.
• Secretary to the Board: Arranging board and committee meetings, helping to prepare and distributing agendas and papers, taking accurate minutes, and following up on action points.
• Diary Management: Efficiently managing the diaries for key team member and trustees, scheduling meetings, and coordinating appointments.
• General Enquiries: Acting as the first point of contact for the charity, handling phone calls and emails, and directing enquiries appropriately.
• Team Administrative Support: Providing comprehensive administrative support to the wider team to ensure smooth operations.

What we're looking for:

• Proven experience in a diverse administrative role, ideally within a charity or small office environment.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple deadlines effectively.
• Strong administration skills and a meticulous eye for detail.
• Demonstrable experience as a secretary for a board or committee, including minute-taking.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and CRM systems.
• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with a professional and friendly approach.
• A proactive, adaptable, and self-motivated approach.
• A genuine interest in supporting young people and the mission of the Air Cadet Charity.
