The Gender and Development Network (GADN) brings together expert NGOs, as well as consultants, academics and individuals committed to working on women’s and girls’ rights, gender equality, racial justice and international development. Our vision is of a world where social justice and gender equality prevail and where all women and girls can realise their rights free from discrimination. Our goal is to ensure that international development policy and practice promotes gender equality and women's and girls’ rights. Our role is to support our members by sharing information and expertise, to undertake and disseminate research, and to provide expert advice and comment on UK government policies and projects. 

At this critical time for the international development sector, GADN is recruiting for a new Treasurer to serve on its Board of Trustees. This is a fantastic opportunity to be involved in the financial governance and future direction of our dynamic network. Together with the Co-Chairs, the Treasurer is one of the Officers of the Board, a role which you can hold for a maximum of two 2-year terms. Trustees may serve a maximum of two 3-year terms.

• Maintaining oversight of the organisation’s financial affairs on behalf of the Board of Trustees.

InterVol is a student volunteering charity in the United Kingdom that connects students with volunteering opportunities locally and overseas. InterVol supports students to develop their skills with community projects in the UK and then use those skills to support the work of charitable partners overseas on health, education, refugee support, and conservation placements. Our project placements and volunteering opportunities are designed by our local partners with the long-term needs of beneficiaries and communities in mind. InterVol supports a network of four student societies at English universities with around one hundred volunteers annually.

InterVol is looking to increase its presence on university campuses around England and Wales, and therefore we are accepting applications from university students interested in setting up a student committee.As a committee member, you will be responsible for recruiting students to volunteer locally and abroad, liaising between the board of trustees and the committee, and recruiting committee members for the next academic year. The student committees will be supported by the trustee board, who are drawn from past student committees.

·Work with the student union at your university to establish an InterVol committee.

BFUK are seeking enthusiastic, compassionate volunteers to support the delivery of our creative and educational hospital workshops. About the Role:

We are currently recruiting a team of volunteers to join our new Welcome team at Tooting Hub. This is a new role. Welcome volunteers will provide a friendly face to existing community members attending our regular projects. They will also be the important ‘face of CARAS and our welcome at the door’ to people attending projects for the first time, to visitors and to people dropping in unannounced to enquire about CARAS’s service. Volunteers will meet and greet, and ensure all visitors are responded to appropriately and introduced to the relevant member of staff, activity, project, or meeting. There will be an administrative element to the role (updating registers and emailing enquiries to CARAS staff, for example).

Who will you be?

We work hard to ensure our services feel welcoming and inclusive. It is important that this new team is representative of our diverse local and internal CARAS community. Whether you are new to volunteering with CARAS or are a regular volunteer looking to vary your role or a community member wanting to develop some leadership skills or volunteering experience, this might be the exact project for you.

Volunteer Tasks and Responsibilities: 

· Signing up to a shift/s on the Tooting HUB welcome team rota

· Able to be at Tooting Hub in person to complete agreed shifts

· Ensuring all visitors are responded to appropriately and introduced to the relevant member of staff, activity, project, or meeting

· Conducting induction tours of the building and introductions to facilities, key staff, and partners

Requirements (all experience can be from paid or voluntary roles): 

Essential:

· Excellent communication skills, especially with people with varying levels of English

· To be non-judgemental and able to engage with people from diverse backgrounds

Stepping Stones Learning and Leisure is a small, friendly charity based in Southwark, providing inclusive activities for adults with learning disabilities. We’re currently looking for a Drama Volunteer to support our weekly drama group on Friday afternoons, held at St Faith’s Centre, Red Post Hill, SE24 9JQ (close to North Dulwich and Herne Hill stations).

About the Role

This role is ideal for someone with a background or strong interest in drama, theatre or performance. You’ll support our Drama Tutor to deliver inclusive and engaging drama sessions for a small group of adults with learning disabilities. Each year, the group works towards a production which is performed at our end-of-year Summer Show, making this a fun, creative, and rewarding volunteering opportunity.

Treasurer Role Overview
The Hospice Lottery Partnership is seeking a Treasurer to join its Board and chair the Finance Committee. This is a voluntary position for an experienced and committed finance professional who can take a collaborative, hands-on approach in partnership with the Head of Finance and Operations and the executive team. The role focuses on enhancing financial insight, strengthening reporting, and supporting strategic planning.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strategic thinking, a passion for the charity’s mission, and a commitment to supporting the hospices that provide compassionate care in their local communities.

Key Information

• Vacancy: The current Treasurer will step into the role of Chair of the Board in September, creating an opportunity for a new Treasurer to join the organisation.

• Dedication and Commitment: The role requires dedication and a willingness to support and mentor the Head of Finance and Operations, along with regular collaboration with the executive team.

• Hands-On Involvement: The Treasurer will have active oversight of budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, internal controls, and the annual audit process.

• Essential Skills: A qualified accountant with experience in strategy and governance is sought. A collaborative working style is essential. Knowledge of the Gambling Act is advantageous but not required, as training will be provided.

• Location: Partner hospices are located across Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire, and West London. HLP’s office is based in Tring. Board meetings are generally held at partner offices, while Finance Committee meetings are held in Tring. Most work can be undertaken remotely, with occasional in-person meetings as needed.

• Time Commitment: The role involves attendance at four Finance Committee meetings (March, June, September, and December) and four Board meetings (April, July, October, and January) annually. Each meeting typically requires half a day of preparation and half a day for attendance. An additional 2–4 hours per week is recommended for reviewing documents, following up on actions, and liaising with the Chair and executive team.

Young Carers Volunteer: Role Description 

We are recruiting passionate and motivated volunteers looking for an opportunity to make a significant impact on the wellbeing of Young Carers’ in Wandsworth.

Outline of service 

Our new Young Carers’ Connect project is designed to support the wellbeing of Young Carers’ in Wandsworth. The aim of the service is to reduce isolation, promote wellbeing, connect young people and provide opportunities for fun and respite.

Wandsworth Carers’ Centre supports individuals who are looking after someone who has an illness or disability. By volunteering with us you can help look after the health and wellbeing of Carers and provide them with the opportunity to take a break from their responsibilities and have time out for themselves. 

Outline of Role 

As a Young Carers’ volunteer, you will have the opportunity to support in a wide range of exciting and dynamic activities such as peer support groups, workshops, events, activities and trips. 

Main Responsibilities 

• Building rapport with Young Carers and helping them to feel safe and comfortable 

• Co-facilitating workshops and groups 

• Supporting with the facilitation of trips, events and activities 

• Supporting with setting up and tidying up

We provide full training, including disability awareness and safety, and ongoing support from our team and fellow volunteers.

Pro Bono Opportunity to create a World Prematurity Day Campaign

At Ickle Pickles, we’re a passionate team dedicated to creating impactful campaigns. We’re excited to raise awareness about prematurity and hope to engage wider audiences with our 2025 World Prematurity Day Campaign.

Our 2024 awareness video achieved 17.6k views across social media, and in 2025, we're aiming to engage an even bigger crowd! We offer remote, flexible work with regular check-ins, an opportunity to innovate and implement your ideas, and a chance to build your portfolio.

If you've successfully created creative assets for campaigns, such as a short video or infographics, you can help us raise awareness of prematurity and neonatal care.

Skills Needed:

• Planning and implementing a digital campaign across various channels

• Expertise in copywriting, creative graphic design and videography/ editing skills
