The Woodland Trust is looking for a Finance Administrator to support the administration of day-to-day operations of the Finance Team.

The Role: 
•    This role is key to ensure detailed record keeping is maintained. 
•    You’ll process expenses including foreign, staff and BACS in accordance with the policy.

WCCM seeks to appoint an experienced, creative, and highly motivated Grant and Major Donor Fundraising Manager to lead fundraising and grant management across a global organisation dedicated to the teaching of Christian Meditation. Working to the Executive Director, you will interact with our decentralised finance, marketing and communications staff and volunteers.  Together, you will nurture Major Donor relationships and create and manage appropriate donor stewardship schemes and rationalise our income streams. You’ll ensure grant reporting and management is kept on track whilst developing targeted proposals for new funding from sympathetic donors in the arena of Trusts and foundations.  You will work to support both our teaching and resourcing of meditation and the running of our retreat centre in Bonnevaux, near Poitiers in France. An excellent writer with excellent financial and budgeting skills, you will be adept at pulling together relevant, succinct and compelling information for our donor reports and bids. You’ll work with communications staff to develop impactful donor communications which enhance our accountability and inspire renewed major donations.  You will have a demonstrable track record in winning grants as well as in the stewardship of major donors.  Occasional trips to France. About Charity Tax Group

CTG is a small, volunteer-led charity that, for over 40 years, has had a huge impact on the charity tax landscape, saving charities an estimated £10bn during that time, including VAT reliefs, the introduction of Gift Aid and significant policy influence. The cornerstone of that success has been a reputation for technical competence and professionalism, making us ‘the voice of charities on tax’ —engaging with government, HMRC and the wider voluntary sector.

We combine technical expertise with advocacy and education to help charities navigate complex tax challenges.

Last year, we were successful in registering as a charity, which opens up new opportunities such as funding and product savings. We also relaunched our annual tax conference, which was the first we had held since COVID.

About the role

We have recently become an independent charity and are recruiting our first Chief Executive to provide leadership, raise our profile and secure long-term sustainability. There is no handbook for what this role should be, and this will be an exciting opportunity to drive strategy, build influence with government and ensure CTG remains the trusted voice of charity tax.

As CEO, you will:

• Act as a credible spokesperson for CTG with government, HMRC, charities and the media
• Work with our Technical Advisor to sustain CTG’s authority and expertise
• Lead on fundraising and income diversification to ensure financial sustainability
• Help establish a vision and operational plan for the future of CTG

Who we are looking for

We are open to recruiting a leader who might be working towards some of the skills we are seeking, and have an excellent board of Trustees, and a strong technical advisor who can support any new CEO to develop.

We can provide exceptional levels of flexibility to the successful candidate, with most of the role being able to be fulfilled remotely; however, there will be instances where we also require flexibility, such as when we need to provide time-sensitive responses to the media.

Group Financial Controller | London | Permanent | £97,166 - £109,699 + Benefits

For a complex global organisation undergoing significant change and transformation, we are recruiting a permanent Group Financial Controller. This role will lead all global financial accounting and statutory reporting. It will support the CFO and Global FD in the leadership and management of all financial accounting, including corporate statutory reporting across the Charity group and 40+ subsidiaries, month-end close and financial compliance, consolidation and balance sheet reporting, audit, short-term cash flow forecasting and working capital management including inter-company. Leading a large multi-disciplined team via 6 direct reports, the Group Financial Controller will also manage the performance of the offshore Managed Service Provider and SAP finance processes.

Main Duties:

• As part of the Finance Leadership Team, direct and manage finance staff globally
• Lead the improvement of the quality of the financial close processes in SAP and the accuracy of data
• Lead and deliver monthly reporting and insight on balance sheet for inclusion in MI
• Lead delivery of embedding and improving a new weekly 13-week cash-flow forecasts model
• Lead improvements to cash forecasting at entity level to the direct method short term 13-week cash flow forecast
• Lead and deliver year-end reporting process in accordance with UK GAAP and Charities SORP
• Coordinate preparation and audit of statutory accounts for all entities globally
• Ensure financial policy framework is robust and clears all accounting and reporting standards
• Oversee establishing of new subsidiaries, branches and legal entities globally, working with global colleagues across Tax and Legal
• Work with the shared services offshore MSP (TCS) and Head of Global Processes to ensure continuous improvement of delivery
• Work with the Director of FP&A to ensure framework is robust to meet all monthly MI and statutory reporting
• Act as key change agent for all finance change projects
• Develop the Group and Global Finance Team, and ensure duplication of activities across the SSC, regions and countries are reduced

Person Specification:

• CCAB Qualified with experience working in complex global companies
• UK GAAP and statutory reporting both local and group
• Group consolidations
• Substantial experience of delivering large-scale change
• Previous experience of leading multi-location finance teams
• Management of short-term cash-flow models and forecasting
• Strong intercompany experience and experience of big data
• Experience of leading a geographically dispersed and culturally diverse team

We’re looking for a Finance Business Partner who is passionate about the charity and welfare sector to join us and deliver high quality financial, commercial and business advisory support to our organisation.

This role will see you as a key member of the Finance team, working closely with the Senior Finance Business Partner to deliver robust financially planning and advice to our Fundraising directorate, supporting budget holders, Heads of Departments and Directors across this area.

You will manage the month end process for your business area to ensure all regular journals are posted in a timely and accurate manner. Any necessary corrections should be made, and you will support budget holders with reporting and variance analysis.

You’ll be a keen problem solver with an eye for detail, an effective communicator and have a strong focus on customer service, planning and organising. 

You will have similar experience in finance and management accounting obtained in a complex organisation, and knowledge of a variety of accounting systems and financial reporting approaches. Experience working within the sector advantageous, but not essential.

As an accountancy qualification isn’t an essential requirement for this role, we would be open to funding elements of a professional accountancy qualification, pending the completion of a probationary period.
You will be contracted to our London, Haig House, Hub with a minimum expectation of two days per week working in person at the Hub (one day must be a Tuesday) and flexibility for working remotely/at home when not on site.

The Deputy Director main responsibilities will include:

• Develop and maintain operational policies, procedures, and risk management aligned with organisational values and Arts Council Investment Principles.
• Co-lead the business plan and long-term strategy with the Director, translating goals into operational delivery.
• Oversee financial management, including budgeting, audits, payroll, procurement, cash flow, statutory reporting, and fundraising and income generation strategies, ensuring compliance and value for money.
• Prepare and submit quarterly and annual reports to public funders, ensuring data accuracy and compliance.
• Ensure legal and governance compliance across charity, company, employment, safeguarding, health & safety, and data protection; support the Board of Trustees with reports and governance documentation.
• Manage operations, including admin systems, IT, building maintenance, insurance, accessibility, sustainability, and lease compliance.
• Lead HR processes: recruitment, contracts, onboarding, appraisals, staff development, and fostering a positive, inclusive workplace with HR consultant support.
