The role:
We are looking for an experienced, resilient, and proactive Social Media Support Officer to join our digital team during a crucial phase of Dignity in Dying’s campaign. You’ll be responsible for driving high-impact, engaging social media content that supports our strategic goals and energises our growing supporter and stakeholder audiences across key platforms.

This role will primarily be focused on Dignity in Dying’s campaign, but over time there is scope for the role grow and take on more of Compassion in Dying’s social media delivery.  

Key responsibilities:

• Create compelling, campaign-aligned content for X (Twitter), Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Bluesky, using existing messaging, framing and personal stories, posting frequently. Engage with accounts with a range of views to challenge misinformation and advance our core messaging.
• Support the creation of dynamic video content and imagery, including vox pops, for social media, including basic editing and captioning.
• Manage our online communities with empathy and sensitivity, identifying new campaigners, people with personal experience, and key stakeholders to get involved in the campaign.
• Collaborate with our campaigns team and agency partners to deliver coordinated set piece social activity, including influencer and ally engagement.
• Run reactive and real-time comms on social media with excellent judgement and fact-checking instincts.
• Integrate social content into wider supporter journeys, alongside email and web communications, including scheduling social media posts.
• Provide support to the Campaigns and Communications Support Officer and Digital Content Officer including drafting and sending email communications and creating content when required.

About you:

• Proven track record in delivering social media for campaigning organisations, political organisations, or high-impact causes.
• Skilled copywriter and content creator with an eye for storytelling and visual comms.
• Experienced in community management and comfortable handling controversial or emotive topics online.
• Confident using social media scheduling and monitoring tools (e.g. Tweetdeck, Buffer etc).

Assistant IT Support Technician

About The Role

We have an exciting opportunity to join our IT team, helping to provide support to users across our locations.

This role will receive support and ongoing guidance from across the team to build on your experience so a keenness to learn and develop your skills is key.

You will ideally have experience of supporting a wide range of end users in a Microsoft network using Windows 11 and Office 365. ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead on the launch of a new RG proposition and ensure that the onboarding and onward journey is fit for purpose.

• Look for opportunities to thank our donors and communicate impact at key moments. 

• Work with key stakeholders to ensure we grow our Regular Giving file, through acquisition as well as retention.

• Manage a variety of individual giving fundraising campaigns, from agency briefing, through to launch, meeting six figure campaign targets. 

• Work with digital fundraising colleagues to create integrated, multichannel campaigns and an effective, donor-first giving journey. 

• Remain flexible and rapidly respond to emergency situations. 

• Work with the Data team to identify the best approach to data and segmentation for each project.

• Manage production processes, developing supplier briefs and managing approval stages and end of campaign reviews. 

• Manage donor research and mystery shopping as required, using insights to inform creative decisions. 

• Manage campaign fulfilment. Monitor responses to identify issues and opportunities. 

• From time-to-time support with Donor Care activities if required.

• Ensure cost effective fundraising, manage individual campaign budgets and identify opportunities to improve ROIs. 

• Stay up to date with issues affecting displaced & refugee communities, campaigns from international teams and reports from the field. Scope new fundraising themes. 

• Share creative and insights with UK colleagues, global markets and HQ, participating in training seminars, workshops and international skill shares where applicable.

To be successful, you must have experience:

• Proven experience managing fundraising teams
• Strong track record of meeting or exceeding income targets

Finance Manager

The Role

The Finance Manager will lead the day-to-day financial operations of the charity, including budgeting, reporting, payroll, and financial governance. The postholder will also line manage the Finance Officer, ensuring effective support for transactional finance tasks and smooth day-to-day processes.

Working closely with the CEO and Board of Trustees, you will help ensure sound financial management and contribute to strong internal controls and compliance.

This is a part-time role, ideal for a finance professional looking to work in a values-driven and flexible environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Management & Reporting:

• Support the delivery of the Strategic Plan
• Prepare management accounts, cash flow forecasts, and financial reports for the CEO and Trustees
• Lead the annual budgeting process and monitor performance against budgets
• Oversee bank reconciliations, accounts payable/receivable, and ensure accurate financial data entry
• Manage the year-end process and liaise with external auditors
• Maintain and improve financial procedures in line with best practice and charity regulations
• Analyse financial performance data and present management information to non-finance managers in a transparent and clear way.

Line Management:

• Provide day-to-day line management, support and supervision to the Finance Officer
• Delegate and oversee routine financial tasks, ensuring accuracy and timely completion
• Support the professional development of the Finance Officer and foster a collaborative team culture

Payroll & Pension:

• Process monthly payroll and ensure compliance with HMRC regulations
• Oversee pension contributions and reporting
• Conduct payroll checks and audits to ensure data integrity

Bids and Grants:

• Provide detailed financial input and support with bids and grants for external funding
• Oversee the disbursement of grants to carers ensuring there are robust processes and procedures in place

Governance & Compliance:

• Support the CEO and Trustees in financial governance and risk management
• Maintain and update the organisational risk register
• Maintain up-to-date financial policies and ensure regulatory compliance
• Prepare financial papers for Board meetings and Finance Committee, and attend as required
• Manage insurance coverage and oversee financial aspects of contracts and leases

Organisational Management:

• As a member of the Senior Management Team, you will be expected to work flexibly to meet the need of the organisation, including deputising for the CEO / COO as required

How are staff supported to work remotely?

VoiceAbility has a small number of offices. Employees including the People team are homebased for Administration and meetings will be held online as well as in person on occasion for which travel will be required.

When you need to travel for work, expenses will be paid (mileage or public transport costs). 

VoiceAbility offers the usual regular manager one to ones, and Staff forums. We hold regular Team meetings with a mix of virtual and in person approach.
