The Role
This is an exciting and challenging opportunity to work across both Houses of Parliament to ensure that our updated Safeguarding policy is effectively implemented and embedded across our varied teams.
The Parliamentary Estate is a mixed-use site, with many different activities involving a wide range of individuals: from members and staff of both Houses, to visitors on democratic access tours and attending proceedings, school children on educational tours, VIP visitors and parliamentary delegations, and tourists from all over the world.
You will need to work with teams across Parliament to understand these different activities, assess the risks of harm to children and adults at risk, the likelihood of those risks materialising, and how Parliament can effectively mitigate them. You will lead in the roll out of our updated Safeguarding policy alongside the development of a network of trained safeguarding coordinators, developing a community of interest to share best practice and guidance.
Some of the responsibilities for this role include:
- To be the lead source of advice and guidance on safeguarding policy and practice within Parliament.
- Support the work of the Safeguarding board, providing expert briefing, analysis and recommendations as required by the board.
- To act as an additional Designated Safeguarding Officer, supporting the work of the existing Designated Safeguarding Leads as required.
- To lead the implementation and continuous improvement of the new safeguarding policy, using a risk-based approach to embedding it in parliamentary activities, structures and culture.
- To establish a network of local safeguarding co-ordinators across Parliamentary teams
Skills and Experience
To be successful in this role you will demonstrate:
- Experience of successfully implementing safeguarding policy and guidance in an environment which, like Parliament, is a mixed-use site, with a wide range of activities and stakeholders. Evidence of using a risk-based approach to deliver robust and proportionate training, procedures and guidance in support of meeting statutory obligations.
- Specialist knowledge of safeguarding relating to children and adults at risk, with a demonstrable understanding of current legislation, including core principles and current best practice, and the ability to apply this in a pragmatic way relevant to our organisational context.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills with the ability to work across organisational boundaries and teams. Able to confidently engage with and influence people at all levels within the organisation, including senior leaders.
- Excellent planning and organisation skills with the ability to meet demand and deadlines whilst taking full responsibility for the quality of the work delivered both individually and through others.
- Highly developed written and oral communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly and explain ideas in a way that decision-makers understand and can act on.
- Ability to lead individuals and teams, building and maintaining strong collaborative partnerships to achieve organisational goals, whilst upholding the values of equality, diversity and inclusion.

JOB OBJECTIVE:
Manage and lead all finance and accounting functions for the Europe region. Function as the Accounting Manager for the UK office, handling day-to-day accounting and financial reporting processes and supervising UK accounting staff. Supervise the Accounting Managers of all other Europe region offices. Responsible for cash management, insurance, budgeting, financial reporting, compliance, and internal controls for all Europe region offices.
DUTIES AND TASKS:
- Oversee day-to-day accounting and internal control activities of the UK office and all Europe offices.
- Travel to each Europe office and meet regularly on Teams with Accounting Managers.
- Provide regular training to accounting staff.
- Ensure compliance with government regulations and required filings in each country, OFAC and FCPA.
- Ensure compliance with all finance policies and procedures.
- Manage cash flow.
- Manage all treasury activities including accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, petty cash, and travel advances.
- Responsible for the full monthly accounting cycle, recording all transactions accurately in QuickBooks, and providing required financial reports to International Finance.
- Work with National Directors and UK department managers to develop annual budgets.
- Review monthly budget variances and provide variance notes.
- Maintain up-to-date fund accounting cash flow projections.
- Review financial performance and provide strategic recommendations to the Regional Director.
- Manage the purchasing process ensuring required preapprovals and quotes are obtained.
- Manage the donation receiving and receipt process.
- Manage finance-related sales activities of all Europe entities, ensuring appropriate administration in line with local tax and reporting laws and requirements.
- Track royalties, license fees, and other sales income, maintaining a library of all distribution and sales agreements.
- Process monthly payroll, remit all tax payments, and complete tax filings including VAT, Gift Aid, and any other non-payroll tax filings.
- Maintain fixed asset inventory.
- Engage qualified external auditors to prepare annual audited financial statements for all Europe offices.
- Schedule and prepare documents for annual general meetings and board of director meetings.
- Identify risks and obtain necessary competitively priced insurance for proper risk management.
- Provide recommendations, improve systems and procedures in line with local accounting laws, initiating corrective actions.
- Establish and maintain fiscal files and records for documenting transactions.
- Interview applicants for accounting positions. In addition to the respective office HR department, coordinate with National Directors, Regional Directors, and International Finance Directors when filling key accounting positions.
- Any other tasks as directed by the Regional Director, in line with the position.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Ten or more years of experience in accounting, including five years in a management role.
- Excellent leadership skills, with steadfast resolve and personal integrity.
- Strong analytical and strategic planning skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Self-motivated, enthusiastic, and driven to succeed.
- Analytical with the ability to identify cause & effect.
- Knowledge of all aspects of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP or IFRS).
- Understanding of advanced accounting, regulatory issues, and tax planning.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
- Chartered Accountant with a minimum Level 4 Diploma in Accounting (MAAT) or equivalent.
- Master’s degree in business administration (MBA) preferred.
- Exceptional verbal, written, and visual communication skills.
- Ability to travel frequently to Europe offices.

- providing veterinary input into the wide-ranging teams of Dogs Trust daily, providing expert clinical guidance for a number of cases across the charity,
- regularly travel to, and occasionally undertake clinical work in, our rehoming centres.
About you
To be successful in this role, you’ll be a Registered MRCVS with a commitment to our work, aims and values. You’ll need a good base of small animal practice experience along with excellent communication and organisational skills. The team works with an ethos of continual improvement in managing cases, based around the evidence that we have and a culture of learning and feedback; interest or experience in these areas would be valued.

An understanding, and appreciation of, God’s call to serve the poor is essential as is being comfortable in talking about Christian faith and theology.

Main purpose of the role:
The Community Leader (Director) leads the Community in living the mission of L’Arche in our community life, by providing outstanding, person-centred and financially sustainable care and support services, by support for shared community and spirituality, and by engagement with the wider community around us.
Are you a leader who can:
- Inspire and lead a diverse and talented community of over 100 individuals with and without learning disabilities - people we support, employees, volunteers, long-term friends and members.
- Oversee and develop £2.5 million worth of registered care, supported living, and day services, ensuring compliance with CQC requirements, alignment with the L’Arche vision and values, and maintaining financial sustainability.
- Lead a team of 70 employees through strategic direction, effective processes and service delivery, and emotionally intelligent, collaborative, forward-thinking people management.
- Represent L’Arche London externally in fundraising efforts, outreach to build local partnerships, and participation in L’Arche UK leadership and governance forums.
- Embody and advocate for the L’Arche ethos of cultivating deep, long-term, and mutually transformative relationships between individuals with and without learning disabilities.
- The L’Arche London Community includes nine supported living services, one registered care home, and two day workshops, serving 34 individuals—all located within a mile of West Norwood Station.
The Role
- Lead a community that intentionally responds to the needs, choices and context of our members, and is faithful to the L’Arche UK Vision and Values, and Mission statement, and to a co-created Community Mandate and plan.
- Maintain and enhance high-quality, person-centred care, support, and housing for people with learning disabilities, both at home and in our day services. .
- Ensure the Community’s financial sustainability through robust financial planning and management.
- Foster a culture that maximises the voice and power for people with learning disabilities, and builds listening and collaboration between Community members with and without learning disabilities (including through an active Community Support Group, Community Council, Community Gatherings, listening circles, and other forums).
- Lead and manage a diverse, committed, and engaged leadership team to achieve objectives, set a positive culture, and support the personal and professional growth of our leaders.

Founded in 2007, KHULA Education is an award-winning South African NGO working in partnership with rural schools and underserved communities in deep rural South Africa to ensure children and youth can access a quality education and economic opportunity.

About the Role
We are seeking to recruit a creative and ambitious Fundraising and Communications Officer.
As our reach and impact has increased significantly in recent years, so has our income, and this new role has been created in response to that demand. This is an exciting opportunity for a fundraiser who wants to widen, or consolidate, their knowledge and experience of fundraising, in an international context, as well as gain communications experience.
We are a very small team so the role will cover a breadth of funding streams, with a particular focus on Trusts and Foundations, High Value Donors, and Events, both special and community. It is therefore important that you have excellent writing and interpersonal skills, and solid experience of crafting successful funding applications. You will also need excellent planning and organisational skills.
The role can, to some extent, be shaped by the skills and experience of the successful candidate, but it is likely to include the following responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Steward, retain and grow the support of our existing donor portfolio: KHULA has an existing portfolio of donors including trusts, foundations, corporates, major donors, individual and regular givers, the majority of whom are based in the UK or South Africa. Alongside the Director of Fundraising and Communications, the post holder will be responsible for managing these relationships, including bespoke reporting for trusts and major donors and taking responsibility for their own portfolio of donors.
- Donor prospecting and new business: researching and generating new donor leads as well as acting on opportunities provided by our Board and others, converting prospects into supporters of our programmes.
- External communications: working alongside the Director of Fundraising and Communications, assisting in the creation of our quarterly e-newsletter and the Annual Report, managing our social media channels, in addition to other ad hoc external communications.
- Events: supporting our community and events fundraisers and assisting with the organisation of occasional special events, alongside Board members.
- Fundraising innovation: assisting in the development of creative campaigns to increase donations/recruit lapsed donors, developing products and offerings.
- Financial management and admin: maintaining our donor database and contributing to fundraising budgets and forecasts.
Person Specification
Experience of working in a smaller charity and team is beneficial as this is a very hands-on role, covering a wide range of responsibilities.

- A proven, demonstrable track record of submitting successful funding applications.

In this role you’ll play an important part in safeguarding both organisations’ information. Your primary focus will be ensuring compliance with information management legislation and policies, assessing risks and implementing effective controls. Role Description
We are looking for a senior leader, with extensive experience in education project and/or programme management, who can lead a fast-growing team within a mission-driven organisation. You will be a core member of the Executive Leadership Team, in particular working closely with the interim CEO, the Chief Operations Officer, the Director of Impact and the charity’s Senior Programmes Leaders. You will have direct exposure to the Board of Trustees and the unique opportunity to fundamentally shape the organisation and its direction.
The Chief Programmes Officer will be responsible for all aspects of programme delivery, including providing strategic direction and day-to-day oversight of the programmes delivery team, business development and stakeholder management with new partners in further education, and reviewing and improving delivery across all our programmes. You will work closely with the Director of Impact to refine and implement our approach to programme quality and impact to ensure we are providing the most effective programmes for the students we support. You will play a leadership role in the overall direction of the charity and work with the CEO, the Chief Operations Officer and the Director of Impact to ensure that the systems, processes, and ways of working for the Programmes Team are in place to ensure effective programme delivery.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Executive Leadership
- Working closely with the CEO, the Chief Operations Officer and the Director of Impact to provide overall leadership for the organisation, deliver the organisation’s new five-year strategy, and embed its values.
- Regularly updating the board on programme delivery and developments through participation in full Board and subcommittee meetings.
- Deputising for the CEO as needed, internally or externally, representing Get Further in public forums, with senior stakeholders, and with external organisations.
Business development and sales:
- Planning, leading and engaging in sales activity to ensure Get Further meets its goals for growth in terms of college partnerships and student numbers and secures new partnerships in key regions and areas for expansion.
- Line managing Senior Programmes Leaders, supporting their development and the delivery of KPIs with regards to college sales and renewals.
- Working closely with the Senior Marketing and Communications Officer to ensure a joined-up and impactful approach to sales and marketing, including through conference attendance and participation, social media, webinars.
Programme delivery:
- Strategic leadership of the Programmes Team (currently a team of 10 full-time staff), including ensuring that the team has the culture, working environment and professional development opportunities to ensure they are well-equipped to deliver high quality programmes and to meet our delivery KPIs.
- Overseeing efficient delivery of every aspect of each programme cycle, from liaising with the Chief Operations Officer to set and ensure achievement of targets for recruiting and training tutors, to leading the team to deliver on tuition logistics (including clear and timely student, tutor and college communications), and reporting on our impact to our partners in further education, ensuring programmes are high-quality and impactful for students and partners.

- Working closely with Get Further’s Director of Impact and the wider Impact Team to develop and deliver our processes for monitoring and evaluating the impact of our programmes, including communicating our results with existing and potential partners in further education to support the charity to meet its wider objectives.
- Ensuring Get Further’s approach to curriculum, assessment and tutor training continue to develop and improve with insights from our impact data, including line management of our Maths and English Curriculum Managers.

Person Specification
ESSENTIAL
- A deep interest and commitment to Get Further’s mission, including the drive to expand our work and the ability to articulate and pitch our programmes authentically.
- An excellent track record of sales within the education sector (minimum two years’ experience of directly selling programmes within education) and skilled in designing and delivering business development plans and/or marketing strategies.
