About the Role

This is an exciting and varied opportunity to join Arthritis Action at a pivotal time as we deliver our 2024–2026 strategy. As our Engagement and Events Co-ordinator (Midlands), you’ll play a key role in expanding our reach and impact across the region, ensuring more people have access to our support, resources, and information.

You'll engage with a wide range of communities and professionals and support the delivery of online groups and outreach projects. From working with underrepresented communities to helping us connect with younger adults living with arthritis, this role offers scope to make a real difference.

Key Responsibilities

Community Outreach & Engagement

• Build and maintain relationships with local organisations, healthcare professionals, and community leaders.
• Organise and deliver presentations and outreach activities to promote Arthritis Action's services.
• Actively support the delivery of our Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Strategy by engaging with diverse and underrepresented communities across the Midlands, including ethnic minority groups and people in low-income areas.

Online Groups & Events

• Facilitate and support Online Arthritis Action Groups and Self-Management Events, including managing group logistics, promotion, and administration.
• Identify and coordinate guest speakers for group sessions.
• Gather and report feedback to improve service delivery.
• Ensure confidentiality and safeguarding policies are upheld.

Networking & Relationship Building

• Identify and pursue new networking opportunities with community, healthcare, and voluntary sector partners.
• Represent Arthritis Action at regional and national events.
• Support collaboration across projects and teams to maximise impact.

General Duties

• Work closely with the Communications Team to ensure effective promotion of groups and events via social media and the website.
• Maintain up-to-date records, including inputting data into the organisation’s database (eTapestry).

Location & Travel

This is a home-based role located within the Midlands region. The post requires frequent travel throughout the Midlands, and candidates must have access to their own vehicle. Monthly travel to our London office is required. All reasonable travel expenses will be reimbursed.

What is the overall purpose of the role?

We are looking to appoint a Support Youth Worker to help develop and deliver an innovative and progressive youth programme for our Girls Project, in a safe industrious and supportive environment working primarily with young girls from diverse communities.

The Girls only group (targeting ages 11-19 years) will promote life skills, well-being and female empowerment. Helping girls move forward through the next stage of their lives to become the women who will shape their community in the future. The Girls group will support, provide advice, mentoring and signposting to additional support services.

Responsibilities:

• Support with the research, planning and delivery of an innovative and progressive programme of youth activities in collaboration with young people and the lead worker.
• Carry out financial and administrative procedures related to the Girls Project.
• Support the promotion of the Girls Project including collating and creating content to be used for online and offline marketing and advertising (hard copy, posters, social media posts etc).
• Record all attendances (registers) for all sessions and populate data required for reporting purposes in a timely manner.
• Coordinate, deliver, host or co-host and oversee the delivery of Girls Project sessions (one-to-ones or groups), trips and residential, that take place on-site and off-site, face to face or online.
• Liaise and supervise with facilitators or external providers directly concerning the delivery of the Girls Project i.e including agreements, risk assessments, SLA’s and Code of Conduct.
• Ensure that children and young people are involved in contributing to the development of the Girls Project via consultations and evaluations.
• Recruit young people through networking and promoting to external organisations and agencies, and beyond.
• Manage referrals to and from the project.
• Assist in recruiting external facilitators required for the delivery of the Girls Project.

We are looking for someone with experience of working with communities and a passion for delivering climate solutions which improve people’s lives. Are you excited to work with communities to unblock delivery of innovative local clean energy and heat projects that cut emissions and energy poverty, and empower communities to take control of their energy and heat provision? As our new Community Heat and Energy Project Manager, you’ll play a key role in delivering our major new community heat and energy workstrand. You’ll work with local communities and expert research partners to move forward local renewable energy projects which help power clean heat solutions at three different sites in England, as well as developing ways to remove barriers to delivering this type of project, such as supplying energy locally and matching supply and demand.

• Contract: 16 months at 4.5 days per week (or a nine-day fortnight if preferred). We are not accepting applications for job shares for this role. While we would like to extend the contract beyond 16 months, as this is a grant-funded role, we cannot currently offer this.

• Work status: We don’t have a sponsor licence, so we're unable to provide sponsorship for a work visa, and candidates are required to hold the right to work for the duration of the contract.

• Salary: £39,200 for a 4.5 day week (pro-rata’d from £43,556 FTE). This is band C3 on our pay scale. 

• Location: Some of the role will be site-specific. We are therefore open to candidates based anywhere in the UK, although some travel to project sites will be required, and there will be an  occasional requirement to attend our Camden office, although you would be welcome to work there more often.

• Working hours: 0.9 FTE, i.e. 4.5 days per week or a 9 day fortnight. Our core working days are Tuesday and Wednesdays, when all staff are required to work.

Action for Refugees in Lewisham (AFRIL) is recruiting for a new Casework Manager to lead our growing and dynamic Casework and Advocacy Service.You will be joining an impactful local organisation at a crucial time in our development. We are looking for a hard working and dynamic leader who can balance the operational demands of casework and managing frontline services, with excellent HR skills and a keen interest in policy and developing partnerships. This is an exciting and integral role within a supportive and dynamic team at AFRIL. The role is available due to the advancement of the previous post-holder to a more senior post.

AFRIL’s Casework and Advocacy Service is a busy, professional team of 4 caseworkers (3 FTE) , a Community Activities Coordinator, and a number of volunteers. The team has grown significantly in the last 3 years, in response to the needs of our community and due to recognition of AFRIL’s high quality and relevant casework provision. The Casework and Advocacy Service provides AQS accredited complex casework and advice in the areas of Asylum Support, Housing, Benefits and Community Care. The service works to fill the gap, focusing on supporting those with complex vulnerabilities requiring wrap around support. AFRIL takes its services to where clients are; holding regular casework drop-in’s at asylum support hotels, community centres and at Lewisham Foodbank. AFRIL is also recently accredited by the Immigration Advice Authority to provide advice at Level 1, in both Immigration and Asylum and is currently in the process of becoming accredited at Level 2.

AFRIL’s Casework and Advocacy service uses casework trends and data to work with community members in order to engage in policy and systemic change. Utilising casework and community co-production, the service has created sector wide resources on asylum support, engaged in strategic litigation and successfully influenced local, pan-London and national policy outcomes. This is a growing area of work for the service and the successful Casework Manager will be required to balance high quality casework outputs and management of a team, while working closely with the Executive Director on emerging policy and advocacy work.

We support people to lift themselves out of poverty, assert their rights and rebuild their lives in the heart of our community. • Casework and Advocacy Service: providing AQS accredited advice, casework and legal interventions in asylum support, community care, housing, welfare benefits and related matters. Pre-Action Protocol letters to challenge unlawful public law decisions and IAA Level 1 Immigration Advice.

• Destitution Support - a fortnightly Food Bank in partnership with St Peter’s Church providing food, food vouchers, toiletries, and other essentials, alongside a warm hub with free cafe, information and support. Small grants for essential items and cash payments for food in emergencies. Securing and distributing gifts in kind, e.g. winter coats, laptops and data. 

• Allotment of Refuge - a welcoming community of food growers that supports improved health, wellbeing and integration of members, whilst protecting the local environment. 

• Immigration Project in partnership with Southwark Law Centre, providing free legal advice and representation to support people to regularise their immigration status. 

We use our frontline experience, together with our clients, to engage in policy and influencing work to improve the services and policies that impact our clients group.

About The Role

SAVE Britain’s Heritage is looking for a proactive and collaborative Heritage Engagement Manager to strengthen our support for communities campaigning to save historic buildings. 

You’ll take the lead in developing and managing SAVE’s public-facing resources — including the Buildings at Risk Register, ACT NOW! Toolkit and Building of the Month — ensuring they are accessible, impactful and widely used. A key part of the role is working directly with community campaigners, volunteers and students, providing advice and support to help them run effective campaigns, and sharing success stories across SAVE’s networks. 

Working closely with our small team — and alongside our Casework Officer — you’ll help ensure SAVE’s campaigning tools are closely aligned with our strategic aims, from audience development and sector leadership to new partnership opportunities. You’ll also coordinate the annual launch of the Buildings at Risk list, deliver regional engagement activities, and build partnerships with universities and professional networks to foster collaborative initiatives. 

We’re looking for someone with knowledge of planning, conservation and the built environment, proven experience supporting or enabling community groups, and strong communication and project management skills. Experience of partnership development, volunteer coordination are also valuable.

Corporate Partnerships have launched several exciting partnerships across both charities and the portfolio and team continues to grow.

Philanthropy is developing income stream for Rethink Mental Illness and Mental Health UK. Job Title: Senior Trusts and Foundations Manager

Salary: £40,000 - £44,000

Contract: Permanent, full-time – 37.5 hours per week

We are seeking an experienced Trusts and Foundations fundraiser to join our team at Power2, a fast growing and energetic youth charity.

You will lead on fundraising from Trusts and Foundations and be responsible for relationships, applications and reporting to major Trust and Foundation funders. You’ll lead internal processes for prospect research and have oversight of a growing portfolio of potential and existing donors. You will ensure a consistent pipeline of applications to meet your performance indicators and collate information from across the organisation to produce funder reports.

 You will have significant and demonstrable experience of fundraising from major Trusts and Foundations. You will have excellent project management skills, be skilled at writing compelling funding bids, be highly numerate and a great team player and collaborator. Previous experience or interest in the youth or education charity sector would be an advantage.

We operate hybrid working, and this role can be based at either our North-West (Ashton-under-Lyne) or London office, with at least two days working in the office per week. We offer flexibility as to when the role’s hours are worked, and exact working patterns can be discussed at interview.

  ABOUT THE ROLE 

  We are looking for an experienced and committed individual to join us as a Start Fund Programme Officer, a critical role supporting the implementation of the global Start Fund. As Start Fund Programme Officer you will work with a wide range of stakeholders within the Start Network, supporting members on accessing Start Fund particularly for Anticipatory and Early Actions. You will also be responsible for project and team administration, such as processing of disbursements and record keeping of all project documents. You will support reporting, project compliance and escalate complaints and incidents. 

About Finance at Hope into Action 

The finance function of Hope into Action is small team comprising the Finance Manager, the Finance Administrators (job-share) and a volunteer reporting to the Head of Operations. It is largely paperless and supports our 44 staff with accounts payable and receivable functions. It works in conjunction with the other departments to deliver timely, accurate and strategic financial information for both the Executive Team and the Board of Trustees.

About the role 

The Finance Manager is a key role in enabling Hope into Action fulfil its vision of every church lovingly making a home for those experiencing homelessness.

The role is broad ranging; from managing the Finance Administrators, supporting their work when needed and also producing the monthly management accounts within our target of 10 working days from the month end.

In addition, you will support the year end work by producing the schedules required by auditors, take a lead in the annual budgeting process, produce the biannual investor statements and compile the Gift Aid returns. 

You will be expected to meet regularly with budget holders to help them achieve their targets and/or devise a plan to bring them back on track.

About you 

We are looking for a self-motivated person with a passion for our work, tenants, staff, churches and mission. You will be adaptable and equally comfortable with bank reconciliations as writing a commentary on the management accounts. We employ people of hope where humility, a genuine desire to love and serve others, and strength of character are as important as any job description. This is reflected in our six core values: strength, hope, action, love, open ears (listening) and mutuality, or “Shalom” as we sometimes call them.

You will have a track record of finance experience but also be relatable; able to support staff with little or no financial experience. You should have a passion for the homeless, churches and our vision & values.

We provide not just shelter and housing know-how, but also the friendship of a church, we are passionate about harnessing the social, financial and spiritual power of churches to enact real change both in them and our tenants.

Our first home had a real heart for men coming out of prison. Homes are now available for a wide range of people experiencing homelessness: people in recovery from addiction, people sleeping rough, women and children fleeing domestic violence, people coming out of rehab, former prostitutes, refugees, those suffering mental health issues and survivors of human trafficking. 

Roughly, 50% of our homes are in our ‘line-managed cities’ (Peterborough, Norwich, Nottingham, Cambridge), the other 50% are found across a further 30+ towns which we franchise into.

You will have at least 5 years experience of Trust fundraising, as well as researching and writing detailed information.
