The Royal Historical Society seeks to appoint an Events and Academic Engagement Officer (0.6 FTE) to join its professional Office based at University College London. The post will help support and develop the Society’s activities with a particular focus on  academic and training events, networking for members of the Society, and scholarly communications.

The Events and Academic Engagement Officer will lead for the RHS Office on the planning, organisation and successful running of all events (lectures, workshops, training, departmental visits and other formats) run by the Society, both in-person and online, working with other members of the Office and the Society’s governing Council.

As Academic Engagement Officer, the post-holder will be the first point of contact for selected holders of RHS research funding: overseeing and developing communication of project work for the benefit of the wider historical community. Academic engagement also involves a principal role in the communication and promotion of the Society’s work, and that of the wider historical profession

Marketing Manager

Office – Moreton in Marsh

Cotswold Friends is a local charity based in Moreton-in-Marsh, which for over 45 years has been providing Community Transport, Befriending, Carer Wellbeing and Community Activities to older and vulnerable people in the Cotswolds. We aim to combat loneliness and isolation. Our voluntary services improve health and wellbeing and support independent living.  We currently support over 2,300 people with 340 amazing volunteers.

This role offers a fantastic opportunity to lead and develop the Marketing function for an established and well-respected local charity.  As the Marketing Manager, you will report directly to the CEO and be supported by a Marketing Co-ordinator working 12 hours per week and a team of Marketing volunteers.  Your role will involve:

• Development and implementation of Marketing strategy and plans, informed by research and data analysis, to support the charity in the achievement of short and long-term objectives

• Development and implementation of campaign strategy and plans for volunteer recruitment, charity and service awareness and fundraising. 

• Working to tell our stories – in this role you will spend time out and about across the Cotswolds, following our services in action and developing case studies that demonstrate the positive impact of our work

The successful candidate will:

· Hold a Marketing qualification and 2 years of management experience in a Marketing role

· Have the enthusiasm and drive to grow Charity awareness using new ideas and initiatives

· Provide evidence of development and implementation of strategic Marketing plans

· Be proficient in the management of digital marketing/social media/email campaigns

· Have excellent creative writing skills to develop marketing content

· Have Press/PR and events management experience

· Have experience of in-house design packages such as Canva

· Be proficient with website management and Content Management Systems

· Understand GDPR requirements and the importance of data protection

The Events Coordinator Role will be part of the Philanthropy & Events Team, within the Income and Engagement Directorate, and will report to our Philanthropy Events Manager.

ABOUT THE ROLE

This role could suit two types of candidates:

• A practitioner with experience of working with children and families who wants to use their practice experience in a programme management role, or;
• An experienced programme manager with strong public sector and/or charity sector experience, who is confident working with data and is relational and collaborative with colleagues and partners.

It would be an advantage, though not essential, to have experience of Family Group Decision Making, solution-focused practice, or the children’s social care sector.

Whilst this role is a managerial role, and not day-to-day family-facing we do make space for our Programme Managers to hold a limited number of referrals each year to nurture skills and practice experience. Full practitioner training is provided for all Daybreak employees.

The role is home based with regular travel into Bromley and Hackney Local Authority offices. A successful candidate would also need to actively work in person with commissioners, external partners, and communities in and around Bromley and Hackney on a regular basis, depending on service needs. Willingness to travel to other areas, depending on service need and growth is needed.

What does a week look like for a Daybreak Programme Manager?

No two weeks are the same, but as a Programme Manager you can expect to balance a mix of operational oversight, supporting your freelancer team, and stakeholder engagement. Typical activities include:

Ensuring a quality service for families, and delivering on contract aims

• Reviewing and triaging referrals, including case discussions with referrers.
• Quality-assuring referrals and Family Plans, ensuring procedures are followed and records are kept up to date in our case management system.
• Monitoring case records to make sure Family Group Conferences are progressing appropriately, and accurate records are being kept.
• Collating and analysing performance data (KPIs), using MS Excel and other tools.
• Writing quarterly reports for commissioners, analysing service delivery, providing narratives and identifying areas for development.

Working with your freelancer team of Coordinators

• Allocating new referrals to our team of freelance Independent Coordinators.
• Engaging Coordinators in best practice discussions, providing guidance to overcoming barriers or issues.
• Acting as the first point of contact for safeguarding concerns, reviewing incident reports and escalating when required.
• Hosting in-person and online Practice Development Groups to share key messages and facilitate best practice discussions.
• Recruiting, inducting, and supporting new Coordinators - from advertising and interviews to observing practice.
• Reviewing and signing off invoices from freelance Coordinators.

Working with external stakeholders and referrers

• Building relationships with referrers such as Social Workers, through consultations and attending team meetings.
• Promoting our services to commissioners and senior managers in children’s social care, ensuring referrals are high quality whilst also raising awareness of the value of FGCs and our service.

Contributing to the wider Charity aims

• Attending Programme Manager and staff team meetings.
• Contributing ideas and expertise to strengthen processes, improve service delivery, expand our offer to families, and support Daybreak’s wider charitable goals.

DETAILS

• Salary: £36,000 - £39,000 per annum pro rata, depending on experience
• Location: The role is home based with regular travel into Bromley and Hackney Local Authority offices. There is also occasionally travel to Southampton (Head Office) for meetings and other areas, based on operational need.

We are looking to recruit a professional and experienced Project Manager to join our long running Housing Related support service in North East Lincolnshire. Working alongside a team of support workers, and the Mental Health Operations Manager, you will ensure the service provides flexible and bespoke, outcome-focused support packages to vulnerable single people, couples and families and expectant mothers over the age of sixteen to maintain their accommodation independently or who require HRS to access accommodation.
