About the role:

The Treasurer works alongside fellow trustees and relevant staff to oversee Humanimal Trust’s financial strategy, planning and management. You will provide the Board with clear, comprehensive information to inform decisions, ensure financial systems and controls are sound, and advise on the financial implications of strategic and operational plans.

You’ll bring:

• Professional financial expertise (e.g. accounting and financial management expertise).

Key responsibilities include:

• Overseeing the preparation of budgets, management accounts, financial statements and cashflow forecasts.
• Ensuring effective financial systems and controls are in place.
• Supporting compliance with relevant legislation and reporting requirements.
• Ensuring the Board understands and fulfils its financial responsibilities.
• Advising on financial risks and opportunities in relation to strategy and operations.
• Overseeing the preparation of the annual accounts and reports for submission to relevant authorities.

We are seeking a new Trustee to join our Board with a digital skill set and experience in marketing and communications as well as the ability to deliver core Trustee responsibilities. A background or interest in healthcare and/or education would be an advantage. We are looking to this Trustee to share their skills and expertise with the executive team to develop a highly effective digital, marketing and communications capability that supports our aspirations for growth. We would welcome applications from candidates who are early/mid career. 

Education for Health is a charity that aims to improve the lives of people with long term physical and mental health conditions by providing high quality education to health care professionals and others who support them.

The Board meet four times a year and this Trustee would also be a member of the Commercial Committee which typically meets four times per year. Meetings are a mixture of in person at our offices in Warwickshire and on line. The role is voluntary but we pay travel expenses. Trustees are recruited for an initial term of three years and can serve up to three consecutive terms.  

Trustees are responsible for the overall governance and strategic direction of Education for Health and for developing the organisation’s aims, objectives and goals, whilst operating within financial, legal and regulatory guidelines. In addition to the core responsibilities of Trustees we are seeking an individual who can use their rpofessional expertise to fulfil the following responsibilities:

Working in support of the executive, use professional skills and expertise to provide advice, guidance and oversight of the digital, marketing and communications deliverables.

Oversight and contribution to the Education for Health marketing strategy through challenge and support

Scrutiny of the opportunities for growth identified by the executive with support to identify potential gaps in the market and ideas to penetrate new markets.

Support the executive with the creation of digital marketing strategies, website and social media management and content development to drive revenue growth

Guide the team to generate internet presence, search engine optimisation and creation of market funnels that lead to purchase of courses

Contribute to the development of the Education for Health brand and product development

Guide the Education for Health communication strategy to ensure appropriate channels for key messaging

Make recommendations to optimise digital solutions and AI to drive Education for Health profile and operational efficiency

Support the development of a comprehensive network of influential voices within the NHS and wider sectors that can provide further steer to the marketing strategy

Familiarity with learning technologies and the use of AI in an educational context would be an advantage

MID CHESHIRE FOODBANK

HEALTH AND SAFETY LEAD/VOLUNTEER – Role description

 1. Background:

Established in 2012, Mid Cheshire Foodbank (MCFB) is part of the Trussell Trust’s UK network of over 1400 Foodbanks, which provide food to people in crisis in their local areas.

2. Our Purpose:

MCFB exists to provide relief to individuals and families in crisis in Mid Cheshire and surrounding areas, through the provision of a sustainable food bank and associated activities.

3.  Role summary:

 To lead on health and safety practice and compliance for Mid Cheshire Foodbank (MCFB).

4. Responsible to:

 MCFB Warehouse Manager.

5. Responsibilities:

List of duties:

1. Regularly review activities and practice within the Warehouse/FDCs to ensure compliance with the Health and Safety Policy. Inform the Warehouse Manager of any issues requiring attention

2. Ensure volunteers regularly receive Health and Safety updates.

3. Identify specific information/training needs for volunteers

4. Undertake annual Risk Assessments in all premises being used by the foodbank, liaising as appropriate with representatives of buildings used

5. Ensure all volunteers know the process for reporting accidents and regularly review the way the process is used. Report issues of concern to Warehouse Manager.

6. Review working practices and ensure safe working practices are developed where necessary.

7. Ensure all appropriate volunteers have received manual handling training and are familiar with ladder use requirements.

8. Put in place, and maintain, appropriate fire safety measures.

9. Review fire safety in all premises being used by the foodbank.

10. Provide information and ensure all volunteers have received training on fire safety measures.

This role will be supporting someone who is independent, chatty and active, and would like to be befriended by someone who is positive, patient and honest. She enjoys being sociable and exploring what activities and fun things Biggleswade and surrounding areas can offer – Air shows, Christmas markets, trips to the pub and Sunday Church service. She would love to have a visitor to join her getting out and about or going for a cup of tea. Access to a car would be a great addition but is not essential for this role.

We offer a lifelong befriending service for adults with learning disabilities. Matching the skills and interests of passionate visitors with the specific hobbies and interests of the people we visit. Visitors visit six times a year to create a 1-2-1 connection, offer companionship, encourage people to do the things they enjoy and check-in on their wellbeing. In many cases, the visitor is the only person in someone’s life who isn’t paid to be there for them.

This is an Out and about visit role which means your visits are likely to be longer, very active and the person you visit will often take an active part in planning your outings and activities in the community. Your volunteer manager will be happy to help you with ideas and suggestions for things you can do. Visits will vary in length but tends to be around a couple of hours, sometimes shorter or longer, depending on what you plan to do. These visits would take place on a Wednesday, Thursday or Friday, or on a Sunday afternoon.

In this role you will spend quality time with the person you visit and could do a range of different activities like:

• Sitting and having a chat
• Checking in on their well- being
• Going out to a local café/pub for a meal/drink
• Take part on community activities like visiting a place of interest, go shopping etc.
• Enjoying a walk
• A craft activity at home

A charity  based in  Croydon, Surrey, London, UK is looking for volunteer Charity Team Assistants; to volunteer 30 unpaid hours per week. The Charity serves a multi ethnic community especially people from Black and ethnic minority backgrounds.

• To assist GNDFuk's permanent instructors in finding and providing creative forms of engagement for both our youth and adult programmes.
• To assist in project and schedule planning including setting and clearing up 30 minutes before and after projects and events

Person Specification:

   • Track progress against programme milestones (e.g., participant enrollment and completion rates) and flag delays to the Programme Lead.

2. Participant Support:

   • Serve as a primary point of contact for participants, addressing inquiries and providing guidance on programme resources, training modules, and job search tools.

   • Maintain accurate participant records, including attendance, skill assessments, and post-program outcomes.

3. Stakeholder Engagement:

   • Support the Programme Lead in building relationships with internal stakeholders.

4. Data Management & Reporting:

   • Collect and analyse data on participant progress, employment outcomes, and programme effectiveness using CRM systems or databases.

   • Prepare regular reports for the Programme Lead to inform decision-making and demonstrate impact to funders/stakeholders.

5. Logistics & Compliance:

   • Manage programme materials, including training resources, digital platforms, and participant handbooks.

   • Ensure compliance with programme guidelines, confidentiality policies, and grant reporting requirements.

   • Gather feedback from participants and partners to identify opportunities to enhance programme delivery.

   • Support the implementation of new tools or processes to improve efficiency and participant satisfaction.

Required Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Education, Human Resources, or a related field.

• Experience:

  • 1–3 years in programme coordination, workforce development, adult education, or a similar role.

  • Experience working with diverse populations, including youth, underserved communities, or career changers.

• Skills:

  • Strong organisational and multitasking abilities, with attention to detail.

  • Proficiency in Google products (Forms, Sheets, Docs, Slides) and familiarity with CRM tools.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for engaging participants and stakeholders.

  • Basic data analysis and reporting capabilities.
