Candidates applying must have a D1 Minibus licence.

You will join us on a full-time, permanent basis Monday to Friday, working 40 hours per week, 8:00am- 5:00pm Monday to Friday (Part-Time, Relief hours are also available). In return, as our Driver you will receive a competitive salary of £25,000 per annum.

About our Driver role:

As a Driver, you'll be driving adults with special needs to and from our day service and local activities. Creating a warm and welcoming journey for passengers and building professional relationships and trust with parents/carers. You will also be responsible for keeping vehicles clean, roadworthy, and ready for each trip.

The service will cover daytimes and will include leisure activities i.e. swimming, community visits, bowling, museums, local parks/farm trips, in house activities including drama and virtual sessions.

Applicants need to demonstrate a good understanding of the importance of empowerment and choice to individuals and their independence.

You will have excellent communication skills and be able to work alongside a passenger assistant member.

You will have a caring and calming nature.

Be willing to have an enhanced DBS and medical check completed.

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Children & Young People area at IRMO and be part of the Family Project. The Family Project supports Spanish and Portuguese-speaking children and young people who have recently arrived in the UK and need to enter compulsory education as soon as possible.

The Family Support Worker will offer targeted advice and support in Spanish/Portuguese to families and young people facing barriers in accessing education and other statutory services such as SEND support and Early Help.

The role involves setting up advice and casework schedules, liaising with local authorities, school admissions departments, EAL/SEN teams, and specialised organisations to ensure children are not out of education and receive the right support.

The Family Support Worker will also deliver targeted workshops for families, liaise with external speakers, and create accessible resources (digital and paper-based).

They will work closely with the Youth Project Coordinator, ESOL Teacher and Community Support Team to share information, identify needs, and connect children and families with opportunities.

This multifaceted role requires empathy, flexibility, and a sound understanding of the UK education system and legislation affecting migrants and asylum seekers.

Fluency in Spanish or Portuguese is essential and a knowledge of both is desirable, as the Family Support Worker will regularly need to communicate with members of the community who have either as a first language. 

Key duties & responsibilities

Project Delivery

• Plan and deliver advice sessions and casework on school admissions and other services (SEND, free school meals, NRPF, etc.).

• Conduct needs assessments and connect children and young people to relevant internal and external services.

• Plan and deliver quarterly workshops for families on education and SEND topics (e.g. transitions, EHCPs, autism).

• Build and maintain networks with statutory and VCS stakeholders, schools, legal organisations, parents’ groups, councillors, and Heads of Service.

• Conduct regular outreach in the community to encourage children and families to participate in workshops, campaigns, and community activities.

• Create accessible resources for internal and external use.

• Run weekly school admission drop-in sessions with newly arrived parents 

• Liaise with local councils to ensure school placements are guaranteed. 

Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E)

• Collect and review monitoring data (registration forms, case notes, feedback forms, surveys).

• Maintain accurate case notes and manage caseloads using Excel and CRM systems.

• Produce case studies, success stories, for reports for funders and stakeholders.

Safeguarding

• Ensure the wellbeing and safeguarding of young people, following IRMO’s Safeguarding Policy and NYA guidelines.

• Attend regular safeguarding training relevant to the role.

Communication

• Support in the creation of accessible promotional materials aligned with IRMO’s communication strategy.

• Manage service users’ expectations through clear and consistent communication.

• Attend team meetings and share updates across IRMO teams.

• Represent IRMO at external forums, with partners and funders.

Other

• Train and supervise volunteers.

• Signpost and refer service users to internal and external support.

• Undertake other duties consistent with the purpose of the post as directed by the Line Manager.

About the role:

The Non-Crimes Assessment Worker will work within a dynamic, fast paced, crisis intervention, advocacy and support service to ensure the voice of survivors informs every stage of the process. They will work within the team to make proactive contact attempts with a high volume of new referrals. Their main focus will be contacting the police cases that may otherwise not get referred into the service. Once this contact is established complete initial needs and risk assessments. They shall provide initial advice and crisis safety planning before the case is allocated to an IDVA/caseworker or referred to the appropriate partner agency for ongoing support. They will provide this high quality support based upon a client led needs and risk assessment to women from the age of 18 and over who access the domestic abuse service. They will advise women on criminal justice, civil remedies, housing and related matters.

About You:

You will have an excellent understanding of domestic abuse and its effects on survivors and children. Be skilled in risk management and safety planning and is experienced in domestic violence advocacy, who has worked with a high volume of clients who have complex and multiple needs. You will have a countenance that remains calm in a crisis and in handling sensitive information on a daily basis and you will have experience working within safeguarding procedures.

Youth Project Worker

Transform the lives of  young people with learning disabilities and autism who are avoiding school . Use creativity, advocacy and relationship-building to help them articulate their needs, re-enter education and rebuild social connections.

You'll work with 35 young people with learning disabilities and autism in Coventry each year , helping them to:

• Articulate their needs and wishes through creative one-to-one advocacy and support
• Re-enter education in a way that works for them as complex individuals
• Re-build social skills and connections to protect their wellbeing and enrich their lives

These young people may be learning-disabled or autistic, in special or mainstream education, or not in education, employment or training (NEET). They include school avoiders, those on reduced timetables, and young people with unmet mental health needs. Without support, their outcomes are often bleak - but you can change that.

What You'll Do

You'll meet young people where they feel most comfortable - at times that suit them, using WhatsApp, Zoom, or face-to-face. Together, you'll:

• Create multimedia person-centred 'back to learning and community' plans using video, voice recording, photographs, artwork or graphics
• Build their confidence through weekly one-to-one sessions, with gradual group engagement on their terms
• Advocate for their views and support them to develop self-advocacy skills
• Connect them with meaningful opportunities across the city

Summary of the Role

The Support Lead plays a key hands-on role in delivering high-quality, person-centred support within the Outreach Academy, CCM’s lifelong learning service. We are looking for a dynamic and highly motivated professional to join our Practice Specialist team, working within our Programme team.

Practice Specialists play a crucial role in preparing Think Ahead participants to become outstanding social workers. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced social worker to maintain links with frontline practice and practice education, with development opportunities for teaching delivery, and coaching and mentoring others.  As Practice Specialist you will:

· Manage the implementation of the programme across host organisations ensuring quality placements and that the academic and practice components are brought together effectively. This will include visiting units of participants on placement, and virtually unit meetings. 

· Support development of CSW’s through regular coaching, supervision and training.

· Establish strong relationships with all relevant key contacts across our partner NHS trust and local authorities, holding regular meetings to quality assure the programme and develop our partnerships. 

· Provide specialist professional social work expertise to the Think Ahead team bringing experience and knowledge of frontline practice.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced social worker and practice educator, that has experience of working within mental health and has a proven record of accomplishment of developing and supporting social workers. We are also looking for someone with experience and confidence in delivering training and is willing and motivated to get involved in this evolving area of the charity.
