What will you be doing?
Main Responsibilities:
● To liaise with the chair and chief executive to plan, arrange and produce agendas and supporting papers for trustee meetings and for drafting the subsequent minutes

● Plan and prepare the committee meetings and AGM with others as appropriate (planning dates, booking rooms, sending out minutes and other papers
● Minute committee meetings or ensure another minute taker is available

Do you enjoy working with people and would you like to make a positive impact for Turtle Doves? This species was once widespread and numerous but now is down to 2100 pairs in the UK. The Operation Turtle Dove project in partnership of RSPB, Natural England, Penthorpe Conservation Trust and Fair to Nature was established to conserve this iconic, red-listed species. Our staff and volunteers are working with landowners to try and halt and reverse the population decline but we need to measure our progress. Following on from the successful 2021 National Turtle Dove survey, we need to expand our network of survey volunteers in Kent, Sussex and Essex to enable yearly monitoring of survey squares for Turtle Doves.
We are looking for an organised person with excellent communication & IT skills to join our team and to help run the Turtle Dove monitoring program and supporting a network of volunteers. Experience in carrying out bird surveys is welcome but NOT essential, we can provide training so you can understand the role of the surveyors you will be recruiting and co-ordinating. This role could be carried out remotely. This is a year-round roll with peaks in activity before and after the survey season which runs from 11th May until 31st July. All equipment needed will be supplied.
Volunteer Coordinators undertake a wide range of activities, including:
Tasks:
- Dealing with queries from potential new volunteers who get in touch
- Being the first point of contact for our existing volunteers and answering general queries
- Lead on advertising new volunteer roles (on the RSPB and external websites, in the local community)

We are seeking a new Secretary to undertake administrative duties to support the board of trustees of the African Bird Club in fulfilling its responsibility for the good governance of the charity and in delivering its strategy. You will be one of five executive officers and as such, have a key role in helping to progress ABC’s status and mission.
The African Bird Club is dedicated to conserving birds and their habitats across the continent of Africa and related islands and furthering ornithology in this region. We raise funds to make grants to support local conservation projects, produce a peer-reviewed journal and are developing a free birding app. ABC currently has over 1100 members from 70 countries and is governed by a board of twelve trustees.
The Secretary is expected to attend three board meetings a year and the annual general meeting of members of the charity, as well as ad hoc meetings of the executive officers and provide administrative support for the running of the charity, as required, with other trustees and contractors.
You must be eligible to be a trustee of a charity, have sufficient time to devote to the role and be committed to achieving ABC's objectives. The Thyroid UK Board of Trustees is a diverse group of 7 individuals, including the CEO, a Chairperson, Deputy Chair and Treasurer. Our board members have a collective responsibility. This means that our trustees always act as a group and not as individuals.
Our trustees play a vital role in making sure that Thyroid UK achieves its objectives. They oversee the overall management and administration of the charity. Role
We are looking for a trustee who will support and provide advice on Thyroid UK’s purpose, vision, goals and activities. Their duties include:

The term of a thyroid UK trustee is two years, following which the Trustees may re-elect the position for a further one or two term(s).
Remuneration

What we need!
Youth Advantage UK is seeking a Volunteer to provide support to the HR department. The role reports into the HR Manager and operates on a rotational basis every 6 months to allow our volunteers to continuously develop. The areas included in the rotation are:
· Recruitment
· Volunteer Relations
· Learning and Development
· Administration
We are looking for volunteers who ideally are passionate about Human Resources. We require all volunteers to have excellent writing and speaking skills, IT literacy, and the ability to work well in a team.
Responsibilities:
Recruitment
Assist with preparing recruitment job packs
Advertising volunteering roles on job boards
Shortlisting candidates
Arranging interviews
Conducting identification checks
Preparing conditional offer letters and sending to candidates
Volunteer Relations
Checking in with new volunteers
Arranging access to systems for new starters
Assisting with making contact with volunteers that are absent
Responding to volunteers queries
Learning and Development
Arranging set training sessions with volunteers
Arranging new training sessions with volunteers
Finding topics that is relevant to the organisation that can increase development
Finding and distributing information on free webinars
Administration
Maintain and update employee records
Setting up templates for the teams to use
Drafting contracts to be issued
Support the HR department with day-to-day administrative tasks..
Assist with HR projects and initiatives as assigned.
Requirement for the role:

IT literacy with own equipment (laptop and phone)

Previous volunteering experience or experience in any kind of start up
