Job Title: Deputy Helpline Manager
Location: Homeworking with a requirement to occasionally work at Head Office (Vauxhall, London)
Salary: £43,627.32 per annum (Inclusive of £3000 per annum London Weighting, which may not be applicable depending on your home location and any agreed permanent homeworking arrangement)
Contract type: Full Time, Permanent
Hours: 37.5 hours per week. As part of this role, you will be required to participate in an out-of-hours on call rota.
This is your opportunity to join Refuge as a Deputy Helpline Manager, to lead, plan and deliver this incredible service to ensure that it supports as many women as possible in line with Refuge’s strategic vision.
Refuge’s National Domestic Abuse Helpline provides a first point of contact and a national gateway to services across the UK for women fleeing domestic violence and other forms of violence and abuse. The helpline will be handling 144,000 calls per year, and is constantly developing and expanding the ways that women can safety reach out for support exploring technological innovation. It offers a gateway for women and children experiencing domestic abuse by providing support, signposting, referrals and information about the services available to them.
The Deputy Helpline Manager will be working as part of a management team, leading, planning and delivering the service to ensure that it supports as many women as possible in line with Refuge’s strategic vision. They will be directly responsible for a large team of helpline staff and sessional workers and will work alongside the Volunteer Coordinators to support with the recruitment, training, induction and development of a large volunteer team.
As part of this role, you will be required to participate in an out-of-hours on call rota.

The role of Health and Safety Advisor will be to review, monitor and advise on Health and Safety (H&S) processes, policies, risk assessments and safe working practices across the charity.
The successful candidate will report to the charity’s Risk Manager, but be expected to work closely with other teams, in particular the Estates and Facilities, and Operations teams.
A recognised Health and Safety Qualification (e.g. NEBOSH General Certificate, or equivalent) is essential for this role.
Overall objectives:
- To be the subject matter expert for staff, volunteers, visitors and contractors dealing with health and safety issues across all three sites.
- Write high quality practical guidance and policies for H&S at Battersea.
- Embed H&S policies and processes across Battersea.
- Help train and educate managers and team leaders in their H&S responsibilities.
- Develop and sign-off H&S risk assessments where appropriate.
- Work closely with the H&S Officer in the Estates and Facilities Team.

Lotus is seeking a skilled and compassionate Peer Support Coordinator to lead our thriving Lotus Blossom Project, which provides online peer support groups for women recovering from domestic abuse. These groups are co-facilitated by trained Peer Support Mentors – all of whom are ex-clients.
This role is at the heart of what we do: championing trauma-informed practice, investing in our volunteers, and supporting women to rebuild independence, purpose and fulfilment after abuse.

Hours: 15 hours per week
Salary: NJC Scale Points 18-22: £30,559-£32,654 FTE (£12,389-£13,238 pro rata for 15 hours/week). Starting salary: £30,559 FTE (£12,389 pro rata) for an unqualified IDVA (Point 18); £31,067 FTE (£12,595 pro rata) for a qualified IDVA (Point 19) pay award pending.
Location: Primarily home based with occasional in-person meetings or training in Newhaven or East Sussex
Contract: Permanent although as with all posts, reliant on ongoing funding
Job Purpose:
To lead the co-ordination, delivery and ongoing development of a safe, inclusive and empowering peer support group for women recovering from domestic abuse through the Lotus Blossom Project. This role ensures that support is:
- Trauma-informed and grounded in the six principles of trauma-informed practice: safety; trustworthiness and transparency; peer support; collaboration and mutuality; empowerment, voice and choice; and cultural, historical and gender awareness.
- Informed by the Investing in Volunteers quality standards.
- Delivered through a team of trained volunteer Peer Support Mentors, all of whom are ex-clients.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead the Lotus Blossom Project, ensuring it’s trauma-informed, inclusive and responsive to client and volunteer needs.
- Recruit, train, support and supervise a team of Peer Support Mentors with lived experience.
- Co-produce themed peer sessions and use your IDVA expertise to guide safe, engaging group facilitation.
- Monitor, evaluate and evolve the project using client and volunteer feedback, and report on its impact.
- Act as an ambassador for Lotus and support wider organisational goals.
You’ll bring:
- IDVA qualification (or willingness to obtain one with support)
- Experience supporting victim-survivors of domestic abuse
- Understanding of trauma-informed approaches and barriers faced by marginalised groups
- Skills in leadership, reflective practice, safeguarding, and data/confidentiality management
- A deep commitment to inclusion, empowerment and collaborative working
Desirable:
- Lived experience of domestic abuse
- Experience in peer support coordination or volunteering roles
- Facilitation of group or online support spaces
- IDVA qualification (completed)

Learning & Development Manager (LDM) – Cymru Wales, West Midlands & South West

If you’re passionate about helping further the mission of Methodist churches, circuits and districts, then we would like to hear from you. As an experienced professional with a proven track record in learning and development, and management, you will be part of a Learning Network (LN), within the Ministries and Learning team and part of the Connexional Team of The Methodist Church.
The LN comprises 30+ staff working as part of a single team operating across the Methodist Church in Britain. The team is strategically and collaboratively managed by Learning and Development Managers (LDMs), each having responsibility for a number of Learning and Development Officers (LDO) working within a geographical area. We are seeking to recruit an LDM for the Cymru Wales, West Midlands and South West area. There is a requirement to live within this geography that includes the Methodist districts: Wales Synod Cymru, West Midlands (following the merger of the current Birmingham District and the Wolverhampton and Shrewsbury District on 1st September 2025), Southampton, Channel Islands, Bristol, and South West Peninsular.
Responsibilities of the Learning Development Manager include:
- strategic shared leadership of the LN
- leading and managing the LDOs, balancing the needs and expectations of lay and ordained
- developing, implementing and reviewing, alongside other LDMs and the Director of Ministry Learning, the strategic work plan of the LN
- building and maintaining good relationships across the Connexional Team and with individuals and communities across the church and beyond
- encouraging the sharing of individual gifts and experiences across a number of teams and stakeholders
- travel (including overnight stays), weekend and evening work
We are looking for someone who has:
- proven experience of coordinating and managing a dispersed team of staff and volunteers
- significant experience and is passionate about learning and development
- a strong commitment to collaborative and partnership working
- a proven track record of meeting deadlines within a complex and varied workload
Knowledge of the Welsh language would be a valuable asset to this role
