This is a full-time, home-based, permanent position. You can be based anywhere in mainland UK or Ireland, with some travel and occasional overnight stays to meeting and conferences mainly in England and Wales.

The Finance Director (“FD”) works alongside the Chief Executive and Operations Director to manage the finances and governance of The Rivers Trust, a leading conservation charity with three associated trading subsidiaries operating across the UK and Ireland, with a collective annual income approaching £10m.

Given the prospective retirement of the current postholder at the end of 2025, we are seeking a well-qualified and experienced individual to take on this senior leadership role as soon as possible to enable handover to occur.

The role is very varied and wide-ranging, including presenting financial information to the Trustees and senior management on a quarterly basis, reviewing monthly management accounts, leading on annual budgeting, appraising internal project concepts and contracts, statutory compliance administration and liaising with auditors.

Main duties and responsibilities:

Working alongside the CEO, the Finance Director will provide commercial, financial and governance management and leadership for The Rivers Trust ("the Charity") and its associated subsidiaries (“The Companies”). The FD will not only be an exceptional accountant, with executive oversight of the finance function, but will be commercially astute and have the confidence to represent robustly the best interests of The Companies. The FD will also be an experienced manager of people.

Key Accountabilities:

1. Act as a business partner to support and constructively challenge the CEO in the general management of the Charity and the Companies, reporting to the board.
2. Lead all aspects of the finance function (including maintaining and developing the financial control environment; robust financial accounting; cashflow management; incisive management information; clear and concise reporting to Board) to ensure that the Charity and the Companies’ assets are secured, risks are managed, and the Board of Trustees, subsidiary boards and committees can make well-informed decisions.
3. Manage relationships with auditors, funders, IT specialists, banks, investment platforms and other external organisations.

6. Attend Board meetings and Business Audit and Risk Committee meetings to guide the Board and the Senior Management Team on financial, commercial and governance issues.
7. Ensure compliance with the requirements of the Charity Commission and Companies House and, from time to time, provide guidance to members of the Rivers Trust movement on good governance practice.
8. Maintain the finance department operational manual for business continuity.
9. Serve as the Company Secretary for the Charity and Companies.

The role is a crucial position that supports the Business Development (BD) team to effectively deliver its remit to mobilise resources for Malaria Consortium’s work through a variety of tasks. This is an exciting role for an early-career professional looking to build their experience within global health and international development whilst working in an exciting and fast-paced team on a variety of projects. The postholder will support effective information sharing and administration of the BD team and help it to efficiently respond to arising opportunities.

The successful candidate will have:

• A degree in development studies, public health, business administration or similar, or equivalent work experience
• Writing and/or editing experience, particularly bid proposals
• Academic and/or work experience in international development
• Experience working in business development or fundraising
• Fluent in verbal and written English.
• Right to work in the UK

We are currently hybrid working and staff will be required to work in the London office at least four times a month.

Tender is an arts charity working with children and young people to prevent domestic abuse and sexual violence through creative projects. Our programmes are safe, enjoyable, age-appropriate spaces where young people can engage with sensitive topics and “rehearse” for real-life scenarios. Participants are encouraged to be both consumers and producers of learning through script-work, role-play and creative media such as films and art. Throughout, we enable young people to explore their choices, rights and expectations in relationships and to recognise the early warning signs of abuse. 

We have grown rapidly in recent years, and now have an exciting and varied programme of work which is funded from a wide range of sources. We have long-standing, high-value relationships with organisations such as the Mayor’s Office, Esmée Fairbairn and Clifford Chance, and continue to grow our income from a range of supporters from trusts, foundations, corporates, individuals and community fundraisers.

We now have a need for an Officer to work closely with the Development Director and CEO in developing our corporate income stream, managing the accounts of existing corporate partners and generating income through securing new corporate partnerships. These partnerships will generate both donations and earned income, with corporate partners contracting Tender to deliver workplace training. You will also work closely with our Corporate Advisory Board, which includes a diverse, ambitious group of professionals who are supporting us to maximise our corporate income stream. This role will involve a diverse range of work, from identifying prospects, creating compelling funding approaches and workforce training pitches, through to successfully managing relationships with corporate partners.

We are looking for someone who has:

• Experience in researching and developing prospect lists for priority industries and implementing new business campaigns which will secure multi-year high value partnerships, both for workplace training and donations
• Experience of selling training programmes to businesses
• Experience in developing engaging and impactful partnership proposals and training propositions
• Ability to work independently
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to develop strong relationships at all levels

The main purposes of the Development Officer role are:

• Working with the Development team to collectively achieve annual fundraising targets exceeding £2m per year
• Selling workplace training and donation opportunities to corporate partners across a range of industries, but in particular the legal and financial services sectors
• Supporting the CEO and Development Director to increase Tender’s workplace training delivery in order to achieve income targets through sales
• Contributing to applications and events in support of fundraising from other sources

The MHCPC has a new and exciting job opportunity for a committed, thoughtful, and resourceful person to deliver the clinical and operational components of our counselling service. The Counselling Referral Service of the MHCPC is a voluntary counselling agency providing professional and affordable psychodynamic counselling to the community. It offers both a clinical placement and a referral service.

The Clinical Manager will be a qualified (BACP/BPC accredited or equivalent) Psychodynamic Counsellor or Psychotherapist with significant clinical experience in the mental health field, strong people management skills and a good understanding of running a counselling service.

Supported by a Counselling Administrator, the Clinical Manager’s role is to ensure that our counselling services are delivered to a high standard in accordance with the BACP & BPC frameworks and the Psychodynamic approach.
