Employee Relations Advisor
Location: Speke, Liverpool (Hybrid – 4 days office, 1 day home)
Hours: Part-time, Monday-Friday, 25 hours per week (Full time equivalent - 35 hours)

About the role

As an Employee Relations Advisor, you’ll be the go-to expert for managers and employees on all things employee relations. You’ll provide pragmatic, legally sound advice and manage ER cases from start to finish — from absence and performance issues to disciplinary and grievance matters. You’ll coach managers, contribute to policy improvements, and help us build a culture where colleagues feel valued and supported.

What you’ll do

• Act as a main point of contact for HR and ER queries
• Advise managers and employees on ER matters in line with UK employment law, ACAS best practice and our policies.
• Manage a varied caseload, ensuring fair, consistent and timely resolutions.
• Draft and review case documentation, including letters, reports and records.
• Support the HR Business Partner with proactive interventions to improve employee experience and retention.
• Monitor ER trends and provide insights to shape policy and training.
• Deliver and support manager training on ER and employment law updates.

About you

You’ll have a strong understanding of UK employment law and experience managing a variety of ER cases. You’re a confident communicator, able to build trust at all levels, and you approach challenges with resilience, empathy, and a solutions focus.

Essential:

• CIPD Level 5 qualification (or equivalent).
• Proven experience managing ER cases independently.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Desirable:

• HR experience in logistics/manufacturing.
• Broader HR generalist experience.

Fundraiser – The Role:

In this part-time role (22.5 hrs p/w) you will be responsible for all aspects of fund raising for The Middle Temple and for the associated activity. You will generate the strategy, annual fundraising plan and then enact activity to achieve the objectives set in the plan.

We’d love to hear from you if you are an experienced fundraising practitioner who has built strategies and plans with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Fundraiser – Key Responsibilities:

- To write the Middle Temple fundraising strategy and annual plan. Then, to enact the plan to achieve fundraising objectives

- To organise and run the annual calendar of fundraising activities, including appeals

- To manage the oversight of the Trustees of the Middle Temple charity and fund through regular meetings of these groups

- To manage, and keep updated, the fundraising databases and information sources required to enable the Inn’s fundraising

- Identify, cultivate and then apply to various funding sources, both internally and externally including grants and trusts

- Write funding applications where appropriate, monitor and track donations and keep financial records up to date

Fundraiser – You:

- An experienced fundraising practitioner used to both creating strategies and plans as well as operating as a ‘hands on’ operator

- Experience of a similar working environment and/or understanding of the workings of other not-for-profit organisations

- Strong administrative experience, ideally in a fundraising role, dealing with the legal and administrative requirements of fundraising including the relationship management of donors

- Experience in managing the requirements of a charity including accounting, reporting and attending meetings of the Charity’s Trustees

- IT literate with experience of using databases (Salesforce and CiviCRM), Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel)

- Excellent communications skills (verbally and in writing) at all levels

The Role:
To assist in the delivery of a high-quality, widely respected and customer-influenced repairs and maintenance function by providing full project management support and customer liaison across the full range of Stoll’s property compliance and asset maintenance contracts and programmes.

Key Responsibilities:

Specific Responsibilities

• Plan, organise and implement the delivery of gas safety services to include annual gas safety checks to all dwellings and gaining access to inaccessible homes.
• Develop and maintain effective mechanisms to ensure all gas, LPG, oil, ASHP & renewables and solid fuel appliances are inspected annually.
• Maintain up-to-date and appropriate records for the proper management of the gas safety programme and all other property compliance programmes. This may include both paper and electronic records.
• Ensure that STOLL meet all statutory and HSE (Health and Safety Executive) requirements relating to all identified areas of property compliance including all elements of FLAGEL –   fire, legionella, asbestos, gas safety, electrical safety, and lifts.
• Work closely with the H&S Officer to ensure that work relating to fire safety is delivered appropriately and as required.
• Effectively manage appropriate facilities management and property compliance budgets and resources to ensure optimum service/programme levels are achieved.
• Process invoices and ensure contract payments are made in a timely fashion.
• Provide colleagues with itemised service charge estimates for tenants and leaseholders detailing the annual costs of servicing/maintenance/cyclical works.
• Ensure timely, accurate and relevant performance management information is available for review and can be produced for the property compliance function. Assist in monitoring performance targets to achieve continuous improvement.
• Assist with the preparation, administration and monitoring of facilities management and property compliance contracts and programmes. Prepare specifications and schedules and programmes of work. Issue works orders and monitor quantity, progress, and quality of works on site.
• Manage contractors daily across the full portfolio of facilities management and property compliance programmes, ensuring that contractors adhere to an agreed programme for each individual resident’s home and that collectively programmes are delivered on time.
• Ensure timely and accurate administration of all records relating to property compliance and facilities management. This will include input and record keeping and include supervision of contractors.
• Records must be maintained to a standard which ensures that all information in connection with servicing and testing programmes is readily retrievable when requested.
• Carry out site inspections of works in progress when required. Arrange and minute regular meetings with property compliance, facilities management and cyclical maintenance contractors either as specified in individual contracts, or on good practice grounds agreed with the Director of Property and Asset Management.

Responsibilitied will include:

Recruitment and Induction

• As part of the District Lay Employment Committee, leading on providing support to employing bodies with the preparation of job descriptions, adverts, contracts, and interview processes.
• Supporting employing bodies with the implementation of Safer Recruitment procedures.
• Maintaining dialogue with employers to seek to ensure that required training, probationary periods and other standard procedures are implemented for new employees and line managers.

Advice and Guidance

• Give consistent advice to local churches, Circuits and the District on the full range of employment matters including recruitment, selection, induction, line management, discipline, grievance and redundancy.
• Deal with queries from lay employees regarding contracts, and associated human resources issues, rules, and regulations.

• Support the District’s Lay Employment Advisor in their duties as described in Methodist Constitution Practice & Discipline
• Process documentation and prepare reports relating to HR activities (grievances, performance reviews, contracts of employment etc.) within the District.
• Ensure that advisory information produced by the District remains relevant, accessible and meets current regulatory frameworks.
• With the District Secretary, monitor and develop district employment policies.

Join our team and help us improve public sector food across the UK with our School Plates and new Hospital Plates programmes. We're looking for a passionate and driven Chef Trainer to support schools and hospitals in delivering healthier and more sustainable menus.

The programmes continue to go from strength to strength. Through School Plates, we currently support over a third of all UK local authorities, catering for more than 12,000 schools and feeding over 1.25 million children daily. To date, we have been responsible for swapping over 50 million school meals from meat-based to meat-free or plant-based. We're now expanding our successful model into the health sector with our new Hospital Plates programme, bringing the same positive change to patient and staff menus.

Are you a skilled chef trainer with a passion for improving public food? Can you match our ambition? You'll be using your culinary expertise to train catering teams in both schools and hospitals, provide menu advice, and get involved with recipe development and culinary education. You will also run cooking workshops for pupils in secondary schools, inspiring the next generation to get excited about plant-based food. Responsibilities

As our Chef Trainer & Programme Support, you'll be a key player in developing and delivering our School Plates and Hospital Plates programmes. You'll use your culinary expertise and passion for food system change to create resources, train professionals, and engage with our partners.

Key Responsibilities

• Recipe Development & Training: You'll co-lead the creation, testing, and development of new plant-based recipes for our school and hospital programmes, and lead on developing ‘grab-and-go’ and internationally inspired options for secondary schools. You'll also plan and deliver training sessions, including in-person and online workshops, and create e-learning courses for caterers.

• Programme Development & Support: Work closely with programme managers to develop and refine the strategy for our initiatives. This includes supporting pilot programmes, measuring their impact, and creating bespoke catering resources for our partners.

• Stakeholder Engagement & Communication: Represent our organisation at events and in meetings, providing expert catering advice and information on our programmes. Collaborate with our communications manager to create engaging content, including recipes and videos for our website, e-learning platform and social media.

• Education & Outreach: Partner with our education manager to plan and co-deliver secondary school cooking workshops. These sessions will teach pupils basic plant-based culinary skills that align with the National Curriculum as well as inspire the next generation to choose plant-forward options and learn about the impact of their food choices in a positive way.

• Inspire Catering Teams: Your role is to build and maintain relationships with catering partners, providing expert catering advice and practical recipe suggestions. You'll work with them directly on pilot programmes, offering bespoke support to inspire positive menu changes. You'll also provide essential administrative support for our programmes and help create and deliver presentations to promote our work to a wider audience.

Role Purpose

The Policy and Impact Team sits at the heart of Volunteering Matters. We play a vital role in demonstrating the impact of our work connecting data, qualitative insight, and lived experience to the policy agendas shaping communities across the UK. Through storytelling, analysis, and evidence, we make sure volunteering is recognised as a driving force for social change.

We are a small, hands-on team. You will be involved in every aspect of our work from desk-based research and writing briefings to organising external meetings and working directly in communities alongside our volunteers. This variety allows you to connect national policy with local realities and help volunteers share their voices where it matters most.

 You will help bring our five-year strategy to life by linking project outcomes to broader societal developments and showcasing the impact of volunteers and communities.

Key Duties Responsibilities

· Support the Head of Policy and Impact to coordinate Volunteering Matters’ policy and public affairs work.

· Support people involved with our volunteering projects to engage with local politicians, e.g. by organising visits to projects or meetings with volunteers. 

· Monitor and respond to opportunities (e.g. relevant government consultations, All-Party Parliamentary Group inquiries or Select Committee inquiries) that are relevant to Volunteering Matters’ priorities.

· Support mapping and research exercises to inform our policy positioning. Writing summary reports as needed.

· Collaborate with the National Volunteer Engagement Manager to support the inclusion of volunteer and community voices in our policy and public affairs work.

· Assist with collecting impact and activity data from across the charity and work with the Data Analyst to undertake analysis.

· Support with routine collection of quarterly data from projects - ensuring responses are timely and accurate, providing guidance to project managers as needed.

· Work with project staff to help create impactful and engaging reports.

· Represent Volunteering Matters at charity and volunteering policy-related groups.

Tender is an arts charity working with children and young people to prevent domestic abuse and sexual violence through creative projects. Our programmes are safe, enjoyable, age-appropriate spaces where young people can engage with sensitive topics and “rehearse” for real-life scenarios. Centre 33’s Wellbeing team offer a diverse support offer to (primarily) young people aged 13-25 and founded in the principles of low intensity CBT (Guided Self Help). Working closely alongside other Centre 33 services, the team are responsible for the delivery of interventions via the Guided Self Help pathway, to young people who have self-referred or consented to a parent/professional referral to address early emerging mental health difficulties such as low mood and anxiety.
