The administrative assistant will be assisting in general administrative support. They will have a close dialogue with key stakeholders, funders and donors to create relationships to help the organisation move forward.
The requirements for the job is basic office and communicating skills.
The administrative assistant should be keen on learning and developing new skills within the Organisation.
There will be opportunities to develop skills within several different units of the organisation such as; Marketing, Funding, Finance, HR and Legal.
The position will give the volunteer the opportunity to get insight into these different units, and the choice to develop oneself within the one (or several) that becomes of most interest, while at the same time getting versatile, transferable skills that can be applied throughout the organisation.
Main Tasks:

Contact and communicate with stakeholders - explaining the organisational aims of the organisation and creating relationships and collaboration with other organisations.

Assisting other volunteers in positions such as Marketing, Funding, Finance, HR and Legal.

The volunteering program with QMC School requires a minimum of 16 weeks of commitment. We are looking for someone who can offer 12 hours a week, Monday - Friday.
Please note that this is a volunteering role
Upon successful application, our HR team will contact you to arrange an interview. Following a successful interview, we'll initiate the onboarding process by sending you the necessary documents. Once your onboarding and identification documents are received and verified, you'll be invited to a 6-hour HR and System Induction. Subsequently, you'll meet with your Head of Department or Assistant Manager for your First Day.

Alex, The Leukodystrophy Charity (Alex TLC) is a small, independent rare disease charity competing for essential resources within an extremely competitive arena.
Like many other small charities, we have grown organically from an informal support group to the recognised voice for leukodystrophy patients and their families. In order to fulfil our charitable objectives we need to increase and sustain our corporate income levels.

ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for volunteers, preferably with corporate fundraising experience to:
• research the corporate giving landscape and the interests of potential donors
• identify potential corporate donors and partners whose corporate social responsibility (CSR) goals align with our mission and values
• approach local and national businesses in person and over the telephone to inform them of the work of Alex TLC
• keep a record of all approaches
Time Commitment
• This role is flexible and can easily fit round your other commitments.

RNID Near You volunteer
Role description
Our volunteers are vital in helping us make life fully inclusive for the 12 million people in the UK who are deaf, have hearing loss or tinnitus. RNID hugely value the contribution of our volunteers and we achieved the Investing in Volunteers quality mark in 2023.
What you’ll be doing
RNID Near You volunteers help us provide free, in-person drop-in sessions for people who are deaf, have hearing loss or tinnitus, or want to get their hearing checked. Our volunteers:

Meet and greet people visiting our services, find out what service or information they’re looking for and direct them to the right place.

Support hearing aid users by doing basic maintenance on their hearing aids and providing tips for getting the most from hearing aids.

Help people to take the RNID online hearing check. They take people through the steps in person on a digital tablet.

Provide information on a range of topics related to deafness and hearing loss.

Help us to find supporters and donors by talking to people and providing information on supporting us.

Support us with administrative tasks for the service.
You don’t have to do all types of activities; you can pick the activities you find most interesting and match your skills and experience. Usual time commitment varies but is typically three hours per month.
Full induction and training is provided and you’ll be assigned a supervisor to provide you with on-going support and to introduce you to our community of volunteers.
Requirements
You need to be 18 or over for this role. You may need to be able to travel by car or public transport to different places. We’ll reimburse your expenses in line with RNID’s expenses policy.
We have a legal duty to make sure that all volunteers working either in person and/ or online with children and adults at risk on a regular basis are suitable.
In addition to requesting references, we’ll carry out appropriate pre-volunteering checks in-line with regulations such as Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks in England and Wales, and equivalents in Northern Ireland and Scotland.
