As Supporter Engagement Officer you’ll play a key role in helping us to engage new and existing supporters as well as helping to deliver first-class stewardship to retain support and build trust. In addition you will develop appeals and communications that engage and inform supporters which help to raise more voluntary income.
Directly supporting the Direct Marketing and Legacy Manager and working closely with all of the Supporter Engagement team it would be beneficial if you have previous experience or an interest in Fundraising. Being a confident communicator with a “can-do” approach is essential as well as being able to demonstrate proven administrative skills, the ability to manage a varied workload and be highly organised.

About the role
The London Library is looking for an Acquisitions and Discovery Assistant to assist in the acquisition and management of Library E-resources and print resources.
The role includes supporting the successful acquisition and seamless delivery of electronic resources to library users, utilising and maintaining relevant library systems and records; assisting purchasing decisions and supporting licensing, ordering and payment processes; verifying access, liaising with suppliers & Library IT, and ensuring correct metadata is presented to users; plus monitoring resource use and collecting data for the evaluation of subscriptions. There is the opportunity to support membership and services, including giving tours to prospective members.
In addition to assisting with the administration of E-books, the role requires processes associated with the management of the print journal collection, including serials and donated materials, such as checking in new issues and ensuring publications are shelved correctly, applying stamps, recording invoices, recording changes in publishers' information and preparing completed volumes of serial parts for binding and checking.

Overview / purpose of the role
We’re looking for a Finance & Operations Assistant who is interested in developing a career in bookkeeping and/or accountancy within the nonprofit sector. Finance
● Managing our accounts payable inbox, monitoring all incoming invoices and following up with team members on any missing information if required
● Processing and coding invoices in Xero accounting software ahead of weekly payment runs

● Conducting weekly payment runs via our online banking system

We are looking for a Fundraising and Database Assistant (Salesforce) to join a small team of professional fundraisers. Above all else, you will need to have excellent attention to detail, and be enthusiastic, hard-working with a can-do attitude. They work in a fast-paced, but friendly and supportive environment, where you can be sure that your contribution will have a real impact on the charity's ability to deliver its vital work to thousands of young people. This role is full time, offers hybrid working 2-3 days in the office per week and is expected to last 2-3 months, so you must be immediately available.
Fundraising and database administration
- Responsible for day to day running of database (Salesforce) for the fundraising team.
- Ensuring all donations are correctly recorded on the database and thanked appropriately.
- Help maintain accurate, consistent, and reliable information about supporters for fundraising and relationship-development purposes
- Assist with data segmentation, creating data lists for mailing, correct recording and analysis of income for development purposes.
- Working with finance team, supporting the Gift Aid process, attend frequent reconciliation meetings between Salesforce and finance systems (Quickbooks)
- Ensure compliance with GDPR and data protection with all communications and donor activity.
- Provide support and training in maintaining and utilising Salesforce for the fundraising team.

The opportunity:
Battersea’s multiple award-winning Income Generation department raises around 60% of the Charity’s total income. Working with colleagues across the organisation, they provide members of the public and organisations with opportunities to engage with Battersea and to support our work. Within this department sits the Challenge and Public Events team who deliver challenge events, including charity places in the London Marathon and Royal Parks Half Marathon, and our multiple award-winning Muddy Dog Challenge series.
This team is looking for someone to join them as a Challenge and Public Events Assistant on a 6-month contract, to be the first point of contact for fundraising products, In-Celebration and community supporters, as well as our carol concert attendees, delivering exceptional supporter care and building long-lasting relationships. They will also provide administrative support to the Senior Challenge & Public Events Officers to deliver a portfolio of fundraising events and activities, as well as take the lead on small projects.
This will be a rewarding opportunity to play a role in giving the dogs and cats in our care a better life, and we are looking for someone who has experience of delivering outstanding supporter/customer care, is able to work collaboratively with colleagues from other teams, and has a full, valid UK driving license and is confident driving vans and other vehicles.
Please note that this role is a 6-month fixed term contract.

In your role as School Fee Assistant you will be responsible for the day to day administration of student accounts whilst delivering accounts records and customer service.
Your day to day duties as School Fee Assistant will include;
- Processing Accounts Receivable invoices
- Processing all income, student record updated
- Raising credit notes
- Very light credit control - chasing outstanding payments
- Maintaining accurate billing information
- Taking payments over the phone and ensuring all income is recorded in correct ledger
- Managing the accounts receivable inbox and handling relevant queries
- Assist with month end reconciliations and biannual billing processes
In your role as Student Fee Assistant your duties you will work as part of a wider finance team at the Head of Offices.
The skills you will bring to your role as Student Fee Assistant will include;
- Prior experience in similar accounts receivable role (Prior experience in a school is not essential)

You will also support the development and implementation of new systems and processes and provide guidance on Housing policies and procedures. You will work closely with the finance team to manage rental income and invoice payment and will deputise in the absence of the Housing Manager.
The successful candidate will have some experience in property management (ideally) and will possess excellent customer service and administration skills, and proficiency in IT.
