The Role
Global Greengrants Fund UK is looking to hire an energetic and passionate individual who will play a key role in collaborating across teams to support finance and grantmaking. They are responsible for the smooth running of all transactional processes for grants, payments, reconciliations, and financial reporting. They will also lead on any applicable system enhancements thus offering a critical and wide-ranging systems support role for the grantmaking charity. They will ensure that financial transactions are properly allocated, recorded, and maintained and assist in the preparation of audit data as well as supporting project reporting to aid in the preparation of the annual statutory audit and project reports.
As part of the finance and operations team, they will join a growing team currently staffed by four members in the UK. In the present accountability structures, the Finance and Grants Officer, GGF UK is line managed by the Director of Finance and Operations, GGF UK while building and working in more collaborative ways.
The Candidate Profile
The successful applicant will have significant relevant experience in a similar role in a charitable, environmental, development, social justice, feminist, gender, human rights, and/or grantmaking organisation. They demonstrate knowledge and experience in charity/nonprofit grant accounting/financial issues and dealing with both financial and grant information and processes, understand accounting principles, and have knowledge of accounting, grantmaking, and budgeting processes. They have cash management, banking, and payment experiences. They demonstrate excellent administrative and organisational skills, and the ability to ensure the accuracy of work and demonstrate precise attention to detail. They will have the skills to give, receive, and work with feedback constructively. They also thrive in a virtual environment, motivated to take on challenges and collaboratively find innovative and creative solutions. Multiple language skills would be ideal, while English fluency is a must.

Role description
The Parliamentary Advocacy Coordinator (Education) will work with both organisations, providing crucial support to the Results UK Education and IPNEd Teams. We are looking for someone who will be proactive, efficient and flexible in supporting our parliamentary advocacy work both in the UK and globally. Having a can-do attitude that includes the more administrative aspects of the role is essential. This post will provide good opportunities for developing project management and advocacy skills; an understanding of key international development issues; and experience of working with Parliaments and parliamentarians in the UK and globally.
We are looking for candidates with an interest in and passion for international development and education to address poverty, inequality and oppression.
Key responsibilities
Supporting the work of the Results UK education and IPNEd teams
- Providing administrative support to the Results UK Education and IPNEd Teams and ensuring the smooth-running of internal processes that support the teams’ work, for example: contributing to the maintenance of the contact management systems and databases; supporting monitoring, learning and evaluation processes; tracking and communicating impact; engaging with external providers (e.g. report designers); managing procurement of translation services for events and meetings.
- Supporting political analysis for Results UK and IPNEd education teams to identify parliamentarians to work with as members of the All Party Parliamentary Group for Global Education in the UK and the IPNEd global network.

Background:
Central London Samaritans (CLS) is the largest of Samaritans’ 201 branches.
Based in the heart of Soho (*), 450 volunteers deliver the Samaritans service round the clock, every day of the year providing support for anyone struggling to cope. Our core objective is to deliver services that support the Samaritans vision that fewer people will die by suicide. Assisted by a small staff team, volunteers manage over 100,000 contacts a year of which, pre-pandemic, 4,500 were face to face visits.
As well as delivering services in our Marshall Street centre, we also work in the community across seven London boroughs. From providing emotional support for London’s homeless, to running peer-to-peer listener programmes at Brixton prison, and delivering talks and workshops to schools and workplaces, we pride ourselves on the support we give to our community. Our volunteers also offer emotional support following any form of crisis affecting Londoners, such as the London Bridge attacks and the Grenfell Tower fire.
Role description:
Responsible for ensuring the delivery of the community events fundraising plans and activities. You will be managing a select number of events, along with engaging with the community and businesses to develop and implement plans for maximising income and support from individuals, groups and businesses.
Main responsibilities:
- Manage branch Community and Events, taking a lead for specific awareness events and fundraising events or activities.
- Organise events, including liaison with venues, suppliers, monitoring expenditure, volunteers and participants and ensure all preparation is complete.
- Ensure an excellent level of supporter care and stewardship with supporters is maintained and developed.
- Provide regular reports and information about activities, supporters and volunteers.
- Previous experience working in fundraising in either a community, challenge or mass participant event capacity.

ClientEarth’s Development Department is responsible for raising and managing funds to enable the organisation to deliver its mission – using the power of the law to bring about systemic change that protects the earth for – and with – its inhabitants. The department is formed of several fundraising strands: a Grants Team and a Business Development Team that manage and secure funding from trusts, foundations, and institutional donors; and a Philanthropy Team, working with a wide range of individuals and organisations to raise primarily unrestricted gifts to support ClientEarth’s work.
Meet your Manager
In this role you will be managed by our Head of Grants, Eleonora Arcese. Eleonora joined ClientEarth in 2016 and is based in London. She leads the team that manages and stewards ClientEarth’s growing funding portfolio, which includes foundations, trusts and statutory and institutional donors. Prior to joining ClientEarth, she worked for a number of environmental NGOs where she managed a portfolio of projects focused on EU and international climate and energy policy, sustainable development, and conservation.
In her spare time, Eleonora is also a Trustee of the Board of the Hawks and Owls Trust, in the UK.
Main Duties
- Funding portfolio management - Have a close and in-depth knowledge of their grants portfolio, including a sound understanding of the philanthropic, institutional and statutory funding mix;
- Internal and external communications - Meet with Trust, Foundation and Institution portfolio managers to discuss proposals, provide updates on the programmatic work, and to formally report back on financial, organisational and technical issues;
- Project management - Effectively manage reporting and the grant renewal process from start to completion including working with multiple teams across ClientEarth’s European and international offices to ensure input from all avenues to complete proposals and reports in a timely and high-quality manner; and
- Financial planning and budget handling - Work with Finance and Programmes staff to develop individual budgets for funding proposals
- Systems and processes - Maintain funder database systems (Raiser’s Edge) and other organisational databases (SharePoint) on a daily basis
Role requirements
- Experience of working in a grant management or project management role for a charity, NGO, private or public entity
- Experience of reporting to private foundations including trusts
- Experience drafting proposals and securing funding from foundations and other funding institutions
- Experience and knowledge of budgeting, and organisational (e.g. not for profit/charity) finances

You’ll also be comfortable producing accessible how-to guidance, to enable people experiencing health inequalities to access services.
The role will involve building effective relationships with stakeholders including GP Practice Managers, voluntary sector organisations and NHS Integrated Care Board partners. You will work with these stakeholders constructively and persuasively, to seed partnership initiatives and achieve positive change for Barnet residents.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Grant Management and Compliance
· Provide grant management support to Programme Management Units, country offices and partners. Participate in regional portfolio reviews.

· Provide end-to-end management of partnership agreements, including drafting.

Partnerships and Development
· Design and implement grant management and compliance trainings for partners and Internews staff.
· Identify and document best grant management practices from individual grants, works with M&E colleagues to coordinate debriefings with stakeholders.
· Advise development colleagues on key considerations relating to donor and statutory compliance requirements as related to sub-grants.
· Contribute to the development of partner budget proposals to ensure their appropriateness and compliance.
· Transfer grant-management expertise to country offices

· Deliver trainings for key grant management staff in country offices and PMUs.
Expert advice
· Manage and develop the grants expertise at GC&C team ensuring the highest standards of grant management support to PMUs, country offices and regional and multi-country portfolios as required.
· Provide ongoing feedback to the Director of GC&C on required improvement and updates on donor regulations and contractual obligations to ensure organisational knowledge is built and improved continuously, with particular focus on the consistence and continuous improvement of sub-granting processes.
· Ensure good knowledge management across grants, including key project documentation, to enable all teams supporting the grant to access information and provide a fully auditable trail.
· Contribute to annual work planning and budgeting process.
Essential Skills and experience:
· Demonstrated experience in the context of international non-for-profit.
· Strong experience in the development and implementation of grant management processes and procedures.
· Deep understanding of rules of major European donors, including the European Commission, SIDA, and FCDO.
· Proven track record in conducting due diligence on organisations and their policies, ensuring compliance and alignment with standards.
· Proven track record in grant management training and mentorship for grantees.

Purpose of role
To manage the annual programme of the PPA psychoanalytic psychotherapy qualifying training and the Advanced Clinical Course. To promote and grow the trainings. To manage the budget and collect and report on performance management data. To track all trainees’ progress, to ensure the smooth running of all elements of the teaching provision and to liaise and work in collaboration with the PPA training committee (TC), curriculum committee (CC), selection committee (SC) and post graduate committee (PGC).
Accountable to
The post will be line managed by the office manager will be accountable to and work in close collaboration with the committees of the PPA.
Key responsibilities
1) To oversee and manage the delivery of the annual programme of the PPA trainings in collaboration with the TC and PGC.
a) Booking clinical, theory and group seminar leaders in collaboration with TC and PGC.
b) In liaison with the Director of Marketing, Communications and Engagement place adverts for supervisors, teachers, and group leaders as appropriate.
c) Ensure that trainees and TC have an up-to-date list of Training Analysts, Training Supervisors and Approved Therapists
d) Room booking for all aspects of the programme.
e) Annual review, update and production of handbooks and all written materials for course.
f) Collaboration with the library to track reading list production.
g) To be the first point of contact in cases of emergency.
h) To collect, collate and report on trainee feedback.
2) To oversee the annual trainee selection for the trainings.
a) To be the first point of contact for potential applicants, giving out appropriate information about the trainings and passing appropriate inquiries onto the training advisors.
b) To liaise with interviewers and arrange trainee selection interviews.
c) To attend selection week/day process.
d) Collate information on the number of applicants and successful candidates and report to TC.
3) To support the TC in the monitoring and management of trainees’ progress throughout their training.
a) To record which tutors have been assigned to trainees in collaboration with training committee.
b) To receive monthly updates from training tutors, collate and report to TC as required.
c) To manage collection and evaluation of all feedback from trainees and seminar leaders and send as appropriate to the training committee.
d) To find readers and markers for final clinical papers and arrange dates for reading ins.
4) To promote and grow the trainings.
a) In collaboration with the Director of Marketing, Comms & Engagement to develop and implement a marketing plan for PPA trainings.
b) To work with the Events Officer to promote the trainings at bpf open days.
c) To liaise with the PPA newsletter editor to ensure the production and circulation of the newsletter and to communicate with the Membership Officer about any PPA items for the bpf newsletter.
d) Ensure consistent messaging about PPA trainings across internal and external communications.
e) To have oversight of the cycle of reaccreditation with the BPC.
5) To ensure effective administrative and financial management of PPA trainings.
a) To take lead on ensuring all communication with trainees is up to date including collection of fees, sending out handbooks, curriculums, all training materials, and dates.
b) To work with the Director of Corporate Services to oversee and maintain budgetary control of both trainings.
c) To work with the Director of Corporate Services to provide management reporting data.
d) To collect and report on data collection of protected characteristics.
e) To provide budget updates to the training committee.
f) To recommend and implement improvements to PPA training admin systems and processes.
g) To manage all payments from trainees and to teaching staff.
6) To work with all PPA committees to maintain the functioning and growth of the PPA association.
a) To attend TC meetings, PGC meetings, bpf Heads of Trainings meetings and any other meetings to ensure the smooth running of the committees and clear communication between committee members.
b) Organise and oversee the termly PPA reading group and other social events in collaboration with the Events Officer.
c) Encourage and grow PPA members’ events in collaboration with the Membership and Engagement Officer.
7) General
a) Any other activities deemed appropriate by the CEO and Office Manager.
b) Supporting office colleagues with other trainings when necessary.
c) Working collaboratively with the whole bpf staff to ensure the smooth running of all bpf training and membership activities.
d) Being part of the office duty system.
e) Adhere to bpf policies and procedures.

Good level of general education.
Experience
· Significant experience in an administration role, preferably in a client/customer-facing role, and ideally in a training, education, or membership environment.
· Knowledge of higher education or professional healthcare training, in relation to psychotherapy or counselling desirable.
· Experience of managing budgets desirable but not essential.
· Knowledge of financial and invoicing procedures desirable but not essential.
