The Royal College of Ophthalmologists (RCOphth) is a membership organisation and the voice of the profession, with over 4,000 members in the UK and overseas. Job Purpose
As part of the four strong events team, this role is responsible for coordinating the delivery of numerous educational events throughout the year. These events support the clinical and non-clinical skills and professional development of our members as key components of lifelong learning and improvement.
In addition, the role will support the Events Manager in the administration of the showcase Annual Congress as well as the Admissions Ceremony. As part of the team, you will also assist other team members as necessary.
Main Purpose and Deliverables
- Delivery of the Training the Trainers Courses (TTT) and Certificate of eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR) Courses.
- End to end event, speaker and customer support specifically for the TTT and CESR events and as delegated for the education and seminar programme.
- Assist in the management of the education and seminar programme as well as the Admissions Ceremony with the Events Manager.
- Management of Congress registration.
Main responsibilities
- Liaising with the comms team to market events.
- Respond to all enquiries.
- Manage the online course booking process (this includes payments receipts, etc.)
- Send out event information to attendees.
- Produce feedback and collate the information.
- Send out course completion or attendance certificates.
- Book all rooms as required and catering.
- Organise speakers for events, liaising with relevant stakeholders.
- Book the speakers’ hotel accommodation.
- Maintain the relevant sections on the College website.
- Maintain the database for relevant faculty and facilitators.
- Maintain, in liaison with each TTT Lead, the material to be used for pre-learning and throughout the courses.
- Check and sign off expenses from trainers attending courses.
- Provide administrative support for Ophthalmic Practitioner (OPT) TTT courses.
- Produce delegate and speaker registers.
- Timely uploading of talks on site.
- Be the main point of contact for speakers and chairs during the event.
Management of Congress registration
- Responsibility for the management of the Congress registration process, working with the Events Manager to the agreed event delivery schedule.
- Set up prices on the Eventsforce database.
- Update congress website with prices.
- Deal with all queries relating to registration.
- Update delegate records and information on the Eventsforce database.
- Add speaker registration and bulk registrations from sponsors.
- Management of on-site registration during the four days of Congress.
- Supervision of other staff members on registration desk.
- Deal with on-site queries and responding appropriately.
- Develop and send out feedback form, collate feedback and distribute.
- Produce the CPD template and send to all delegates who attended.
Support the Skills Co-ordinator/ Skills and Events Administrator when required
- To provide support to trainers on skills courses.
- To set up courses in the absence of the Skills Co-ordinator which includes running courses, cleaning up the skills centre and associated duties undertaken normally by the Skills Co-ordinator.
Other duties
- Assist in the administration of the Admissions Ceremony.
- Some travel is expected, including attendance at events and overnight stays. Working outside normal hours may also be required from time to time.
- Undertake any other reasonable duties as required by the Events Manager or Head of Education, Training and Events.

About the Role
Humanists International has another separate entity based in the US. This role will be a part of the UK operations team but will collaborate with the US finance team occasionally when it’s required, for example, during the audit period. Both UK and US finance teams are managed by the same Director of Finance and Operations who is based in London.
We are looking for a highly motivated individual who can provide excellent finance and administrative support to the small, predominantly home-based team. We’re seeking someone who is personable, highly organised, has attention to detail and is keen to take initiative and learn new skills. Onboarding training will be provided, but we would like you to demonstrate transferable skills.
You will work on a wide variety of tasks which will include bookkeeping and bank reconciliations, being the first point of contact for the organisation, as well as providing general administrative support to the team. You will be comfortable working both independently and collaboratively across a diverse international team.
This is a full-time or part-time with a minimum of 4 days/week (0.8 FTE), permanent position, which is predominantly home-based but does require the attendance of in-person events such as the General Assembly and Team Building. Assuming day-to-day responsibility for the oversight and coordination of all repair and maintenance activities across all tenures (Supported, Unsupported, Intermediate and Market Rent).
Responsible for working collaboratively with the Customer Contact Centre to facilitate the timely and efficient completion of repairs and maintenance tasks in accordance with established standards and regulatory requirements. Offering technical expertise, whilst being a lead escalation for Contractor Management and Commercial Meetings.
What you'll do:
Instigate Orders
Authorise orders and approve variation price works from agreed SoR's. Offer technical support to Customer Contact Centre to ensure that works are value for money. Promptly instruct contractor and confirm agreed timescale. Liaise with scheme mangers as necessary.
Order Approvals
Approve and review high value orders, variations, and completed works prior to invoice.
Quality Assurance
Lead on all areas of quality assurance including sharing site visit responsibility with Property Inspector. Manage requests for pre inspections and post inspections with Property Inspector. Lead on Damp and Mould quality inspections and follow up reports. Communicate inspection KPIs to key stakeholders.
Works Delivery
Ensure that all works are completed within agreed time frame work and that this is accurately monitored through weekly WIP reports.
Contractor Management
Ensure strict adherence to Contractor code of conduct and agreed SLAs. Lead contract progress meetings to manage performance.
Complaint and Query Lead
Manage all complaints responses related to repairs from inception and act as escalation point for repairs and void teams.

This is a new role for the Circuit, replacing a volunteer. In designing the position, the Circuit has aimed for maximum flexibility to secure the best candidate for the role. Initially, the person will need physically to attend some meetings to familiarise themselves with the Circuit's operations and ensure a smooth hand-over. For the right person, though, there will be considerable flexibility about how the duties are fulfilled in the longer-term. The Richmond & Hounslow Circuit comprises seven churches in southwest London. As with all Methodist circuits, these churches function autonomously yet collaborate closely in their ministry and mission efforts. The Circuit oversees joint resources, including staff and property. Presently, it employs four full-time ordained ministers, one full-time lay pastor, and a part-time administrator. As a part of the Methodist Church, its mission is “to respond to the gospel of God’s love in Christ and to live out its discipleship in worship and mission”. To fulfil this mission, the Circuit fosters a broad spectrum of ministry within its congregations, focusing on worship but also engaging in outreach to the homeless, asylum seekers, new parents, and various other groups.
