The Finance Assistant will support the Senior Finance Manager and Finance and Operations Director. They will be responsible for all aspects of sale, purchase and nominal ledger, credit control, payments and various reconciliations. General management account duties will also be required

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain the shared inbox and respond to queries to internal and external contacts in a timely and courteous manner.
• Log purchase invoices into the finance system and request authorisation from budget holders, ensuring that documentation is complete and correct.
• Issue all sales invoices and maintain funders invoicing schedule.
• Request and reconcile supplier statements.
• Ensure finance policies are followed for the set-up of new customers and suppliers.
• Support internal team with expense reimbursements, including maintaining the expenses software and relevant reconciliations. Follow up on missing documentation or evidence of non-compliance.
• Prepare weekly payment runs and issue remittance advices.
• Issue statements to customers and regular credit control activities.
• Check ledgers for missing costs. Identify and resolve missing costs or discrepancies in ledgers.
• Complete reconciliations to ensure payments are allocated and accounted for correctly.
• Reconciliations between the Salesforce and accounting system Assist with month-end and other management accounts functions.
• Support the finance team with other ad-hoc tasks, such as posting journals, payroll and annual audit.

This role delivers a range of dynamic and engaging financial education programmes to young people, adults, and professionals. As part of our Programmes and Delivery Directorate, our Trainers love working with our participants; they’re the front line of our work, representing Money Ready’s exceptional programme quality in a range of settings.

This role will work with both children and adults across our programme suite and will require significant travel to our delivery locations throughout the area to deliver face-to-face sessions to diverse groups of learners. Occasional virtual sessions will also need to be delivered. All delivery-related travel is covered by a London TfL travel card, provided by Money Ready.

As EA to the Chief Operating Officer (COO), this role has a primary focus in providing comprehensive administrative support to the COO, in collaboration with the wider Directors’ office team and the COO’s direct reports.

They will be responsible for delivery of smart and strategic diary management for the COO and handling administrative tasks on the COO’s behalf. This role will provide varying levels of support for the Finance & Audit Committee, NT Food & Drink Board, Enterprises Board, and the Financial Planning Group. The Supporter Services Team Leader will be responsible for promoting and delivering excellent supporter care to existing, potential and previous supporters of Battersea, developing relationships and maximising income for Battersea.

Objectives

Duties and Key Responsibilites 

Sarcoma UK’s research programme

• To support Sarcoma UK’s grant application processes under guidance from the Acting Head of Research. This will include calls for proposals, identifying expert peer reviewers, administering a high-quality peer and lay review process, communication with applicants and potential applicants, administration of grant awards and supporting patient involvement.
• To provide support to the Grant Review Panel and Research Strategy Committee, including organising meetings and preparing minutes.
• To manage Sarcoma UK’s portfolio of active research grants, under guidance from the Acting Head of Research. This will include administration of newly awarded grants, monitoring progress of current grants, oversight of grant finances and reporting on final outputs.
• To support opportunities for patient involvement within the research programme, including managing a network of lay reviewers and facilitating new opportunities, with support from the Patient Involvement Coordinator.
• To support new developments in Sarcoma UK’s research programme, including organising and attending events, collaborative funding calls and initiatives to support early career researchers. 

Research Impact and Communications

• To monitor and gather outputs and long-term impact of research grants funded by Sarcoma UK and support in ensuring these are shared with internal and external audiences.

Role Overview

• Competency in analysing and interpreting data to produce meaningful reports for internal governance and external regulatory reviews.

You will have experience:

• Experience coordinating or supporting training or education programmes, ideally in a regulated or healthcare-related environment.
• Proven experience in stakeholder engagement and relationship management across a range of professional levels.
• Experience supporting or managing governance structures such as committees, panels, or working groups.
• Experience maintaining accurate records and producing reports for internal and external use.
• Experience developing guidance materials and SOPs to support users in navigating complex systems or processes.
