The Role

The main responsibilities of the role include:

• Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement operational plans aligned with the charity's vision, ambition, strategic objectives.
• Service Management: Oversee the delivery of mental health services, ensuring they meet quality standards and address the needs of beneficiaries.
• Team Coordination: Lead and support staff, including service leads, volunteers, and other team members, fostering a collaborative, inclusive, and positive work environment.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong two-way operational relationships with commissioners, NHS professionals, and other key stakeholders and partners to enhance service delivery and growth.
• Budget and Resource Management: Manage budgets effectively, ensuring financial sustainability and cost-efficiency. Work closely with the Business Development Officer.
• Compliance and Governance: Ensure adherence to legal regulations, safeguarding policies, organisational standards, and compliance with all associated regulations.
• Project Oversight: Manage and oversee projects, including fundraising initiatives and community programs, to increase the charity's impact.
• Human Resources: Overseeing recruitment, onboarding, and employee records, as well as managing holiday and sick leave.
• Health & Safety: Updating policies, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring a safe working environment.
• IT and Facilities Management: Managing IT systems, office premises, and supplies.

 How are staff supported to work remotely?

The Business Development team is a recently established and growing team at Frontline. The team is responsible for delivering and developing high-quality leadership programmes, workforce development training, and commissioned projects that support practitioners and leaders across the children’s social care sector. We work collaboratively across Frontline to ensure that these offers extend the organisation’s mission impact and contribute to its financial sustainability. As Business Development Coordinator, you will play a vital role in supporting the effective delivery of Frontline’s leadership development programmes and workforce development training offers. You will provide high-quality administrative, operational and project support across the Business Development team, working closely with the Business Development Manager and Programme Manager to ensure smooth programme delivery and excellent participant experiences.​

Your responsibilities will include supporting communications, logistics, resource management, scheduling, and data tracking. This is a key role for an organised, proactive and collaborative individual who is passionate about supporting work that improves leadership and practice across the children’s social care sector.

Some key responsibilities include:

• Providing operational and administrative support for the delivery of leadership development

We are seeking a faith filled, people focussed senior leader offering operational management which includes oversight of our Support Services Hub and staff team and developing commercial enterprise, to contribute to our financial resilience and resource mission.

The Operations Manager will work closely with the Team Rector in developing and implementing the strategy, systems and capacity to enable the parish and its churches and worshipping communities to be effective in fulfilling the parish vision and priorities.   

The purpose of the role is to provide strategic oversight and efficient management of the operational, administrative, financial, HR, safeguarding and property functions of the parish.  The role includes day to day management of the Support Services Hub and staff team who are at the forefront of support for operations and enterprise.  

In terms of enterprise, your role will be to develop and implement an entrepreneurial approach to income generation and financial sustainability.  This might focus on our use of buildings, the development of other innovative commercial enterprise and developing and implementing other fundraising strategies (including grant applications).  We already hire out many of our buildings, yet we recognise that our buildings and grounds, could be used more innovatively and are seeking somebody who will bring innovation to our thinking and enable our assets to be stewarded more effectively. As Community Development Co-ordinator, you’ll lead the delivery of a vibrant, resident-led health and wellbeing programme across Highgate Newtown and nearby estates. Working closely with local volunteers (Community Champions), residents and partners, you’ll co-produce a wide range of weekly activities that tackle health inequalities, strengthen community ties, and amplify local voices. Activities could include mental health workshops, family play sessions, health information pop-ups, gardening projects, and community cafés - no two weeks will look the same. You’ll recruit, support and nurture a team of passionate volunteers, ensuring they grow into confident community leaders.

A key part of the role involves building strong relationships with local services, schools, faith groups and community venues, and making sure resident feedback shapes everything we do. You’ll coordinate themed campaigns, facilitate listening sessions, promote the programme creatively across the estates, and track the outcomes and stories behind our impact. This is a hands-on, outward-facing role requiring creativity, adaptability and strong organisational skills. We’re looking for someone who is a natural facilitator and relationship-builder, with a passion for health equity and social justice. Based at Barnes House with some hybrid working from home, you’ll also be regularly out in the neighbourhood - walking, talking, connecting, and helping residents lead change where it matters most.

The Salvation Army Community Services Department is seeking to recruit two experienced social or community work professionals to offer targeted professional advice and guidance to local missional settings (various SA centres including churches) to deliver their missional priorities. They will work with local leaders who are seeking to effectively engage with their respective communities, using community-based services as a key platform and discipleship space to connect individuals and the ‘non-churched’ to the Mission of The Salvation Army.

You will be part of a wider team who seek to enable, empower and equip local SA churches and community settings to ‘stand on their own feet’, via peer-to-peer learning /communities of best practice and thereby not be as reliant on National (THQ) resources. You will also spend up to one day a week as a practitioner based in a local SA church or other SA community setting.

Partnership liaison and relationship management

• Build and implement a strategy for developing relationships with local referral agencies to ensure recruitment of young people onto the Spear Programme is effective.
• Maintain and develop relationships with local partners to form a strong referral network and create opportunities for volunteering, and jobs for Spear completers.
• Assist the Spear Trust in implementing their funding strategy by supporting with corporate relationships, and hosting local partners and donors on visits to the Training Room.

Oversight of the Spear Programme

• As a confident communicator, you will lead group sessions of around 10 yoing people each, using coaching skills to transform attitudes to their own ability and the workplace and to raise their awareness and maximise potential in stepping into the world of work.
• Prepare and coach group and 1-1 sessions with the Spear Coach.
• Ensure the programme is delivered in line with agreed targets, and report KPIs on recruitment, retention and completion of Spear Trainees to Resurgo, Citizen Church and the Spear Trust, as well as their ongoing progress and sustainment of work or education.

Line management and training

• Manage the Spear Coach, using a coaching approach to invest in their growth and development.
• Be line managed by Resurgo to support with the ongoing operations of the centre and report back on KPIs.

Church Community

• Spear South Wales is run in partnership with Citizen Church, meaning you are part of a vibrant church staff team and submerged in an exciting faith community.
• You will be required to establish a personal presence withing the community as your regular place of worship, and supprot the Spear Coach and Spear Trust in buildiing a strong and committed network of supporters int he partner church to help source employment, funding and volunteer opportunities for Spear.
• Ensure the Spear Programme is a key missional feature of the work of the church; this may involve attending church events and speaking at services.

Site Management

• Liaise with relevant staff on site issues and work to resolve them as soon as possible, ensuring the office and training room are safe and tidy workspaces in line with health and safety policies.

• An active Christian, able to personally represent the values and beliefs of Resurgo and Citizen Church, and a commitment to grow and learn spiritually and as a Christian leader.
• A confidence with group facilitation, experience in coaching or training, and a desire to learn and understand coaching techniques.
• Passion for social justice and for working as part of the church to transform communities, especially supporting young people in employment or education.
• Self-motivated with strong leadership, management and organisation skills with the ability to exercise initiative and prioritise workload.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, high emotional intelligence, and a sense of fun!
• An entrepreneurial and ambitious individual who works well under pressure an can translate ideas into practice with creativity.

Salary: From £24,336 Per Annum FTE (pro rata for part time hours)
Hours: Part-Time (22.5 or 30 hours per week)
Work pattern: Working 3 or 4 out of 7-day rota, 17:30 - 01:30.

About the Service

Our Nightlight Service is proud to provide urgent support, crisis intervention and emotional support to people experiencing a mental health crisis in Hertfordshire as an alternative to statutory pathways.

We provide support to adults across Hertfordshire 7 days a week, 365 days a year through our helpline, crisis centres, crisis cafes and a weekend Crisis House. We aim to provide a safe space for people in crisis to talk and feel supported, be listened to without judgement, access relevant support with problem solving and facilitate access to external services when necessary. As a member of our team you will work closely with service users in crisis by using a person-centred approach as to ensure that each individual is supported with dignity and respect.

The objectives of Hertfordshire Mind Network’s (HMN) Nightlight Mental Health Crisis Services are:

• To improve the mental wellbeing of people experiencing mental health crisis in Hertfordshire.
• To increase early access to help for people experiencing mental health crisis in Hertfordshire, by providing a clear and effective pathway to services provided by Herts Mind Network and other third sector and statutory providers.
• To contribute to an improvement in individual mental wellbeing.
• To remain a source of independent support for all clients.
• To provide an alternative pathway to people in distress and crisis to support better outcomes and reduce the demand on statutory crisis services and emergency services.

At the Crisis Cafes we promote and enable people to access support in a way that suits them, whether that’s through talking to someone or simply by providing a safe space to have time alone or engage with trained staff.

About the Role

Mental Healthcare Support Workers are key members of staff delivering the Nightlight Mental Health Crisis Service, taking part in a rota covering 7 days per week, ensuring the delivery of quality crisis support services and instilling Hertfordshire Mind Network’s values throughout the crisis cafe and helpline provision. Working closely with other staff (bank staff, volunteers), coordinators, team leaders and Crisis manager to ensure services are of the highest quality and support the continued growth and development of the service.

By honouring the individual experience of each service user, we are able to respect their autonomy as well as encourage and facilitate positive steps towards management of crisis and recovery.

Whilst experience is advantageous, the most important thing to us and the people we support is having the right values, skills and commitment to delivering high quality, person centred mental health crisis support.

We offer:

• Annual leave entitlement of 25 days per year pro rata, rising in increments to a max. of 29 days after 5 years employment (plus 8 days Bank Holidays)
