The Position
As part of a small team, the Events Assistant will support the Venue Hire team with general administrative tasks, sales, planning and delivery of events and exhibitions for external venue hire clients as well as support Society colleagues with internal event planning.
The Society offers the hire of the Ondaatje Theatre and associated rooms to individuals and commercial, educational, and not-for-profit organisations for small-scale meetings, seminars, evening lectures, large daytime conferences, receptions and weddings. The net income from this business provides essential support for the Society’s charitable activities.
The post holder will primarily be expected to provide efficient and accurate administrative support to the Venue Hire team. This includes communication in writing, on the phone, by email and in person with clients; setting up Collections showcase displays; filing; database input (room booking system); displays; customer invoicing; and other administrative support to enable a smooth and efficient office.
They will also help to sell, organise and facilitate aspects of a small number of events, including liaison with associated contractors, and act as a point of contact for clients in the lead up to, and on the day of, an event.

Job Purpose
As a Night Shelter Manager, you’ll be the lead staff member for your shift, overseeing the safe and smooth running of one of Glass Door’s seasonal night shelters between November and April.
You’ll work alongside Overnight Homeless Shelter Workers and volunteers on your shift to make sure the shelter is a welcoming, safe, and respectful place for up to 35 guests. Your role is to set the tone for the night: briefing the team before opening, welcoming and inducting new guests, explaining our shelter guidelines, and ensuring everyone knows their responsibilities. You’ll be the first point of contact for any issues during your shift, whether that’s supporting someone in distress, addressing concerns or responding to challenging behaviour.
You’ll also ensure shelter procedures are followed, keep accurate records of attendance and incidents, and maintain clear communication with the casework team so they can follow up with guests. Alongside leading operations, you’ll actively work with guests, volunteers, and colleagues to create a friendly and supportive environment where everyone is treated with dignity.
This role is ideal for someone who can remain calm under pressure, lead a small team confidently, and is committed to supporting people as they work towards ending their homelessness; all while making sure the night shelter runs smoothly from start to finish.
Job Description
As the lead staff member for your shift, you’ll be responsible for the smooth and safe running of the shelter during your working hours. You’ll work closely with Overnight Homeless Shelter Workers and volunteers, setting the tone for the night and making sure everything runs to plan.
Your main responsibilities will include:

- Play a critical role in delivering our physics impact projects to shape the debate on matters of importance to the physics community in academia and business.
Projects you work on may include:
- Manage the IOP Awards - Medals and Prizes, including managing nominations and scoring on the Awards platform, executing the engagement plan, managing key stakeholders including Awards Committee and providing excellent customer service to nominees and winners.
- Support our impact projects, including encouraging participation from IOP members and Groups and setting up surveys, workshops and meetings to gather evidence from the community. Past projects include Green Economy, Quantum and Semiconductors.
- Manage and engage with key stakeholders in academia, including IOP Fellows and Members, award winners and universities, bringing new members into the fold.

The role
We are seeking an experienced Events and Community Fundraiser who will deliver our programme of running and challenge events and develop our community fundraising programme. This is a hands-on role and you will be responsible for maximising participation in events and community fundraising activity, whilst providing excellent stewardship to our supporters.
You will be joining us at a really exciting time with our London Marathon team doubling in size and investment in our events marketing activity. You will have the opportunity to grow the community fundraising programmes, developing new and existing products and work with the Senior Fundraising Manager to feed into the development of our wider programme and income growth. About you
Ideally you will have experience of working in the charity sector or be able to demonstrate transferable skills. You will have a passion for fundraising and be an excellent and confident relationship manager with experience of two or more of the following: organising or supporting running or challenge events, marketing and/or promotion, building relationships and event administration.
You should be able to organise yourself, prioritise varied workloads, plan effectively and work to tight deadlines, as well as possessing excellent communication and stewarding skills. You’ll have a working knowledge of social media and marketing tools such as TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and Mailchimp. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual, who is comfortable representing the values and aims of the charity proactively in community spaces.

The Data and Analytics Hub have developed a new ambitious data and analytics strategy to transform the NSPCC into a leading data-driven organisation at the forefront of preventing child abuse and neglect through the collective insights of our data. The Supporter Data Operations team is a team of 15 sitting within the Data and Analytics Hub that process all the fundraising data coming into the society from numerous and diverse sources and maintains and trains staff on our supporter data systems..
Our Supporter Centricity programme aims to transform our relationship with our supporters and as part of this programme we are bringing together all of our key data systems and processes. This role will bring extra capacity to the busy Database Training, Support, and Governance team. Straddling BAU and project work, the postholder will maintain a high standard of support for users of our existing systems as well as supporting the delivery of our ambitious transformation programme.
Job purpose
The key aspects of the role are:
· User support – Provide a high level of support for all Raiser’s Edge users
· Translate business needs into technical deliverables – Work with stakeholders to understand their needs and deliver supporting work to contribute to technical solutions that meet business needs.
