Launched two years ago with pilot funding from the Armed Forces Covenant Trust Fund this service has expanded with additional funding secured until 2027.

We are looking for people who place importance in values such as empathy, collaboration and adaptability and are especially interested in applicants who have lived-experience within the armed forces community as a spouse or family member.

This role will be home-based with all necessary IT equipment provided therefore applicants will need an appropriate space to work at home. The families services is delivered mainly online with flexibility required for occasional evening / weekend working to meet the needs of the families we support.

Regular travel will be required to attend events and visit partners to spread the word about the service and build referral pathways nationwide.  There will be occasional travel required for national team meetings in Richmond. These currently take place 3 times a year and require an overnight stay. There will also be periodic in-person meetings with colleagues which can take place at a convenient location locally.

Shine’s Health Team provides condition-specific health advice and support to people of all ages with spina bifida, hydrocephalus, NPH or IIH, promoting good self-management and enabling our members to live in optimum health.  The Team also aims to reduce the numbers of pregnancies affected by spina bifida and anencephaly through education around supplementation and fortification with folic acid, and other measures. 

Purpose of Job 

The Shine Nurse Specialist will deliver services and create resources to improve the health of Shine’s members, by informing members, their carers and professionals 

Principal Duties 

• To provide ad hoc advice to Shine’s members, their carers  and professionals on complex health issues, and signpost to NHS services 

• To attend and represent Shine at the Chelsea & Westminster Spina Bifida Clinic

• To collect information, statistics and research from a variety of sources to inform Shine’s health projects 

• To create resources to inform and support members’ health 

• To develop training/information resources for professionals 

• To plan and deliver projects, events, presentations and information sessions for members and professionals 

• To provide an information resource for Shine staff

JETS General Manager Job Description:

Industry 

• Work collaboratively with partners, The Professional Jockeys Association and The Injured Jockeys Fund.

• Attend industry and stakeholder meetings and conferences. 

• Build and maintain relationships with key industry stakeholders

• Work with The Jockey Training and Development Management Group and The Jockey Coaching Programme to ensure ‘joined-up’ and quality delivery of training and development to all claiming jockeys.

Building Jockey Relations 

•    To represent JETS at both Flat and Jump race meetings on a regular basis

•    To deliver drop-in IAG sessions on a regular basis at (one) of the IJF rehab centres 
•    To pro-actively build and maintain a close rapport with current jockeys, particularly during injury periods and maintain contact with jockeys’ post-race riding career.

• To conduct face-to-face (preferable) or remote introductory session and follow up sessions when needed to produce dual career and career development action plans as relevant

Role

In this exciting yet challenging role as Emotional Support Worker, you will provide valuable support to survivors of sexual abuse and their loved ones, through our helpline service. Last year, around 2,400 people contact us via this crucial service. Our helpline is a starting point for support, as men and boy’s take their first steps reaching out for help. We are also integral to the SurvivorsUK eco-system, providing support to client’s on our counselling waiting list and helping survivors navigate the different support options that are available.

We provide emotional support, information and signposting through a national helpline service, which is offered via Webchat, SMS, Email, and soon to be offered via WhatsApp and telephone. We are open from 10am to 8pm, 7 days per week.

We are looking for an experienced EDI business partner to work  across Barnardo's providing expert advice and guidance to help us meet our public sector equality duty. You will be a subject matter expert in EDI and will be key to embedding EDI in decision making, ensuring we are compliant with legal requirements, delivering on our EDI objectives, anti-racism and disability equality commitments, key EDI projects, supporting colleagues with lived experience and contributing to a culture of belonging across the whole organisation. The role holder will be expected to have a knowledge of EDI legislation across the UK.

For all these reasons, we are committed to a new approach to pay and reward, to ensure it is fair, attractive and progressive, which was rolled out in April 2023. This is a positive change for the charity, and a part of our People & Culture Strategy. It will assist us in supporting colleagues to belong, thrive and grow in their colleague journey at Barnardo's and in time will offer clear routes of progression for colleagues in both their career and their pay. 

Whilst the full pay band and salary range is advertised, our approach to starting salaries is to appoint between the minimum to mid-point of the pay band – this ensures that pay steps are available to reward our colleagues annually based on their contribution to excellence and alignment to our values and behaviours.  More details on Barnardo's pay framework can be found upon application.

Salary:  £16,500-18,000 per annum (FTE £33,000-£36,000 per annum)

We have an exciting opportunity for an Engagement Officer – Communications (Air Quality) to join our ambitious Clean Air Team and create inspiring content to help raise public awareness and influence government policy at a crucial time.

Asthma + Lung UK is the only charity in the UK fighting for everyone with a lung condition, aiming for a world where everyone can breathe with healthy lungs. We fund cutting-edge research, provide advice and support for the 12 million people who will get a lung condition during their lifetime. We also campaign for clean air and for better NHS diagnosis and treatment.

You will work with the Clean Air Team to gather content for a monthly newsletter and other communication channels. You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills including the proven ability to convey complex issues across a wide range of audiences.

You will have knowledge of how to create compelling content for external and internal communications, including some knowledge of social media trends/algorithms. You will also have an understanding of the importance of, and experience in, engaging people from a diverse range of backgrounds and communities to build lasting, mutually beneficial relationships.
