Plumstead Community Law Centre is a free specialist legal advice charity located in central Woolwich in South East London. We provide specialist legal advice and advocacy in the areas of immigration, welfare benefits and employment People can access our services via telephone or email, and through the Advice Hub outreach services we attend in local community centres. In 2024 over 1,400 local people accessed our advice and representation services, resulting in a range of financial and non-financial benefits.

Towards the end of 2024, we moved away from a collective model towards a functional management structure. We appointed an Interim CEO from the staff group and expanded our trustee board's size and expertise.

This Managing Director and Senior Solicitor role involves assuming the charity’s management from our interim CEO, who has established strong systems and secured new funding for the further strengthening of the charity. Our strategic plan includes improving our legal practice management with a view to obtaining a quality mark and securing an immigration legal aid contract. We anticipate securing further funding to expand our services, to support more people in need in our community.

They are now recruiting for an interim Director of Services to lead the organisation through a time of change and development.

As interim Director of Services, you will work across various departments to oversee the strategic delivery of beneficiary-focussed services, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, to target and to budget. You will join the CEO in leading the delivery of the organisation’s strategy, evidencing impact, ensuring that staff and the management team are motivated and engaged and that older people remain at the heart of delivery. Future Foundations is an education programme of Katherine Low Settlement. Since 2004, KLS’ Future Foundations education team of 10 part-time staff and over 100 volunteers, have supported young refugees and their families in Battersea and the London Borough of Wandsworth to thrive in their education. The postholder will support the delivery of a specialist domestic abuse (DA) project in partnership with Central London Community Healthcare NHS Trust (CLCH) in the London borough of Brent. The role aims to raise awareness and promote best practice in responding to domestic abuse across CLCH staff, improving support for patients impacted by domestic abuse. This will involve delivering training, workshops, and guidance to health professionals, providing consultancy on embedding DA response pathways, and helping CLCH navigate referrals to local domestic abuse support agencies. The role combines professional training, advocacy, and systems change to strengthen the health sector’s response to domestic abuse. The postholder will work across the Brent borough, attending community hubs and co-locating to deliver services when needed.

The postholder may be approached by staff seeking advice or consultation regarding male victims of domestic abuse. While the role’s primary focus remains on supporting women, the postholder will be open to supporting male victims through appropriate signposting and referral guidance. They will also be willing to undertake relevant training (e.g. Respect toolkit) to ensure inclusive and informed responses. Training will be provided.

About You:

To be successful as the Domestic Abuse Advisor & Trainer you will need the below experience and skills:

• A thorough understanding of the dynamics of domestic violence (physical, emotional and sexual violence, so-called ‘honour-based violence’, forced marriage, stalking and harassment) and its impact on women, children, families and communities.
• Experience in designing, delivering, and promoting engaging training and learning sessions on domestic abuse, tailored to professionals and stakeholders across a variety of settings.
• Experience of partnership working and of maintaining excellent working relationships with a range of stakeholders as well as experience of working within in multi-agency environment.
• Ability to provide consultancy and guidance to multidisciplinary teams on domestic abuse-related issues, offering informed advice and support.

About the role:

At Single Homeless Project (SHP), we believe in the power of human connection to inspire change and shape futures. As a Project Worker at King George’s in Westminster, you’ll join a dedicated and forward-thinking team within our Multiple Disadvantage Services. King George’s is a 68-bed hostel and a key part of Westminster City Council’s Rough Sleepers Pathway, offering support to men with complex needs who have experienced prolonged periods of rough sleeping. Many of the people we support are navigating the impacts of long-term substance use, offending histories, and trauma that often began in childhood and continues to shape their lives.

This is a role where meaningful change happens every day - through conversation, connection and consistent support. You'll be working within a Psychologically Informed Environment (PIE), helping individuals move forward from deeply challenging circumstances towards greater health, independence and purpose. Whether you're building trust, supporting recovery, or guiding someone to find stability in housing and wellbeing, your work will have a direct and lasting impact.

About you:

• Previous experience of working in the health and social care, supporting vulnerable people, rough sleepers or people with complex mental health, physical health or substance use support needs. 
• An understanding of working with people using person-centred approaches. 
• The ability to manage a caseload and deliver positive outcomes utilising your knowledge of the health and social care sector. 
• A flexible and creative approach to working with a sometimes hard to engage client group.
