Bromley Experts by Experience is a local Deaf and Disabled People’s Organisation, run by and for Deaf and Disabled people and carers in Bromley and neighbouring Boroughs.

You would be joining a small, committed team of staff who are passionate about creating more inclusive and accessible communities in Bromley and beyond to enable Deaf and Disabled people to participate fully in society and realise our rights.

As Youth Transition Worker, you will be working with young Disabled people in schools/colleges and the local community to support them to navigate the transition to adulthood. You will lead on co-producing workshops and events with young Disabled people to ensure they have the skills and knowledge they need to make this transition successfully.

Position: Youth Transition Worker

Responsible to: Deputy CEO

Location: You will be based in our office in Anerley. During term time, you will be visiting four Bromley schools weekly. In addition, you will need to be able to travel to other Bromley venues as required and occasionally further afield. Some hybrid working may be possible in this role in consultation with your line manager.

Hours: 28 hours per week

Salary: £29,300 per year pro rata to 28 hours per week (35 hours FTE)

Annual leave: 5.6 weeks per year including bank holidays, pro rata

• Develop connections with other youth organisations to organise workshops in school holidays that appeal to young Disabled people.
• Promote our free membership and volunteering opportunities to young Disabled people.
• Develop the skills of young Disabled people so they can take up positions on our Trustee Board.  
• Support young Disabled people to regularly evaluate the project and ensure that this data is updated on our database in a timely manner.

• Work closely with British Gas & other third-party contractors to understand their operational process for vulnerable customers, applications and referrals as well as any dependencies.

• Support BGET’s understanding of money and advice sector across England, Scotland and Wales, including sharing policy knowledge and sector developments within the 3 nations.
• Contribute to new initiatives with British Gas and grant giving programmes.

· Support the effective management of the Trust’s grant programmes across England, Scotland and Wales, including:

• Build & manage positive relationships with the grant assessment team and British Gas internal teams. 

• Providing appropriate support to ensure the direct grant programme runs efficiently and effectively, with grant funding distributed to budget and schedule.

• Undertaking both face to face and virtual monitoring visits of the helpline and application portal and assessment teams – including ongoing KPI and impact evaluation process, creating comprehensive follow-up reports including end of grant reports.

Reporting & Contract Management:

• Ensure all data collection aligned to current Data Protection regulations and use and storage of data is in line with the Trust’s own policies and provide reassurance to the Head of Services.

• Ensure accurate data is in place for year-end reporting, quarterly and including assisting Head of Services with quarterly and End of Year Board reporting.

 Reporting & Contract Management: 

• Identify risks to delivery and work with the grant administrator to help resolve any challenges with delivery that impact on the grant obligations.

• To work with internal and external monitoring and evaluation specialists, to gain impact and understanding of the effect of our funding schemes.

Knowledge Sharing

• Identify and develop opportunities to work collaboratively and share learning.

• Ensure case studies and other content is collated from grant recipients to share through our channels.

Desirable Experience:

About The Role
We have a rewarding and varied opportunity for a Community Based Dementia Adviser to join us covering Southwark and Lambeth. The successful candidate will be delivering advice and guidance to people, families and carers affected by dementia. Working as part of the Alzheimer’s Society Lambeth team and the Southwark and Lambeth Memory Service you will support newly diagnosed clients to navigate support and services from the London Borough of Lambeth, who are referred to our service.
 
There is no direct care element to the Community Based Dementia Adviser role, however we work passionately to provide advice, support and guidance to people affected by dementia. This role supports people in their homes where we interact face to face, over the telephone and virtually to give people the tools and knowledge to make informed decisions about their future. The Alzheimer’s Society are proud to have a small but passionate and diverse team with a welcoming and supportive culture.

About the Service

Housing First supports the most entrenched, excluded and hard to reach service users. It focuses on finding permanent housing as quickly as possible and then addressing the issues that have contributed to an individual’s homelessness. The Ruby Project, is a specialist Housing First programme supporting women who have experienced VAWG and other difficulties such as, substance misuse, experience of the criminal jusice system, having children removed from their care, mental and physical health issues etc.

About the Role

Accountabilities

• Provide a high-quality case work support and information service to victims/survivors who have experienced domestic and/or sexual violence.
• Advocate on behalf of clients with external agencies where appropriate, including at the MARAC
• Provide Solution-focused casework interventions with women who have experienced VAWG and Multiple Disadvantage
• Provide emotional support using a trauma informed approach.
• Build and maintain supportive relationships with women.
• Contribute to the completion of outcomes reports and funding returns when required.
• Complete all documents when support work commences and keep up to date with any changing risks to or from the woman.
• Empower women to access benefits and services they need.
• Involve service users in the design, development, and delivery of the service.

The Learning Disability & Neurodiversity Carers Service Coordinator role sits within the Adult Carers Team and supports carers from the age of 18 upwards who look after a family member, friend or neighbour living with a learning disability or neurodiversity. The Service Coordinator will act as a first point of contact in a busy, fast paced environment responding to enquiries and referrals from both carers and professionals. The post holder will offer immediate signposting support and offer additional one to one support via a home visit if appropriate. The Service Coordinator is responsible for promoting, managing and developing a programme of peer support groups and will work collaboratively with carers and the Adult Carers Team Leader to identify opportunities for service development and the creation of new groups to increase our reach.

To be considered for this role you will have experience of working or volunteering in a Health and Social Care setting - whilst you don’t necessarily need to have experience of supporting carers previously, you must have demonstrable experience of supporting and assessing the needs of vulnerable people. You will have the ability to communicate effectively and credibly with a wide range of people in a wide range of settings and will be confident establishing relationships and working alongside a variety of professionals. As Head of Finance & Systems, you will be accountable for ensuring we have the right systems and structures in place to grow at pace without detriment to good governance.

We’re looking for an experienced finance professional with an interest in effectively using technology and systems to drive efficiency, without compromising on accuracy or compliance. 

You will oversee all financial administration, ensuring this is carried out proficiently and in line with all legal and regulatory requirements, including ultimate responsibility for ensuring that all statutory filings are made accurately and on time. •  Supporting the media team with campaign press - writing press releases and creating social media content, pitching stories to journalists, setting up media interviews and writing briefing documents and work with the social media team to monitor our social channels and interact with followers where required.

In addition to this you will build relationships with, and provide advice, guidance and training to external professionals.

About You

The Internal Auditor role will undertake internal audit assignments, develop country-specific internal audit processes or thematic internal audits and work with our London and global teams to support external audit processes in countries of operation, oversee the global audit register, and with teams across the organisation advance effective financial management performance across the organisation

Job purpose:

Reporting to the CEO and working closely with the Director of Finance and Operations, the post holder will undertake internal audit assignments and compliance reviews aimed at improving Saferworld’s internal systems and processes. The post-holder will also support the development of financial controls and build the capacity of finance and operational teams to implement them effectively.

The role requires a high level of initiative; proven skills and experience in project management; experience working collaboratively with others to achieve our vision; and strong communication and problem-solving skills.

The post-holder will have a successful track record in designing and leading internal audit processes and strengthening control systems, preferable at a complex organisation with multiple country offices/business units.  Additional experience working with offices/partners in/on conflict affected contexts is highly desirable.

Based in Lewisham in South-East London, Sydenham Garden is a unique wellbeing centre utilising its gardens, nature reserve and activity rooms to help people living with and recovering from mental and physical ill-health. We provide nature and arts based creative, social and therapeutic activities for co-workers (the name we give to our primary beneficiaries).

About the role 

Our Director has been in post since November 2021 and on returning from maternity leave in January 2026 she will be working 3 days a week.  We are seeking a Co-Director to jointly lead the organisation going forwards as we have made a positive decision to move towards a co-director model.  This is an exciting opportunity which can have benefits of increasing capacity, efficiency, and transparency and allow for a broader range of identities both to better reflect the diverse populations they serve and as a way to include more diverse leaders. The Co-Directors will be jointly accountable to the Trustee Board for all aspects of the job description. You may take lead responsibility on particular areas which will be discussed and agreed with the existing Co-Director and Trustee Board.

Reports to: Refuge Services Manager
Hours of work: full-time (37.5 hours per week)

Overview

The Dash Charity is looking for a Refuge IDVA to join its dedicated refuge services team.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a local domestic abuse charity with a huge influence and reach. For almost 50 years The Dash Charity has been supporting individuals and families experiencing domestic abuse, empowering women, men and children to recognise the tactics of abuse, break the cycle, and take back control of their lives.

We were one of the first charities in the UK to be awarded Leading Lights status for our Advocacy and Outreach Services by SafeLives, and pioneered healthy relationships workshops in schools over a decade ago.

We run three refuges that offer a sanctuary to women and children escaping violence and abuse, offering specialist children’s support and one to one support for women.

Key responsibilities:

• Identify and assess the risks and support needs of refuge clients using an evidence-based risk identification checklist.

• Manage a caseload of clients ensuring each client receives a quality and consistent service and support individual to their needs and risks.

• Support the empowerment of the client and assist them in recognising the features and dynamics of domestic abuse present in their situation, and help them regain control of their lives.

• To ensure that information is shared within data protection guidelines to ensure a co-ordinated approach is taken to understand client need/risk and support appropriately.

• To work in accordance with the Refuge Services Case Management Policy ensuring that all client records and casework are to the required audited standard as per the case management policy.

• To maintain accurate, professional and confidential case management records and databases and ensure all monitoring and evaluation records/tools are completed in a timely and accurate manner.

• To understand any grant, funder or contractual requirements pertaining to the funding of the individual post, ensuring data and outcomes are gathered to inform periodic reporting as and when required. To contribute to the preparation of any grant/contract reporting as required.

• Support colleagues and partner agencies, through awareness raising and institutional advocacy, in order to provide the best possible service for victims of domestic abuse.

• To fully keep up to date with relevant legislation and sector updates.

• To work with a strong multi agency focus liaising with other agencies and professionals both internally and externally to ensure client’s needs are met.

• Support clients through the criminal justice system.

• Support clients with options of civil remedies and child contact options.

• Ensure intake paperwork is completed and individual support plan in place, including advising women on terms of occupation of safe house.

• Role model, mentor and support students and volunteers assisting with intervention of clients to support the Refuge IDVA role.

• Ensure that meaningful involvement of clients is central to all activities, applying equal opportunities and anti-discriminatory policies and ensuring rights to privacy and confidentiality.

• Ensure clients are clear about their rights and obligations whilst receiving our service.

• Complete 2 weekly keyworking sessions to identify individual client support needs and create an individual support plan for all refuge clients.

• To support clients in accessing medical treatment, legal, housing and debt advice. Attend appointments with clients as required.

• Ensure the Safelives RIC is reviewed 6 weeks after intake to refuge or immediately if an incident occurs.

• To complete a Housing Benefit application for all new clients and submit to SBC within 48 hours of intake.

• To update DAIU when a client arrives and leaves refuge.

• Ensure client rents are collected weekly, rent card completed and the Finance team are updated.

• To facilitate monthly resident meetings, complete meeting minutes and any actions arising from the meeting.

• To complete weekly H&S checks and update RST manager accordingly.

General duties:

· To operate within clear professional and confidentiality boundaries and to work within The Dash Charity code of conduct.

· Ensure clients are clear about their rights and obligations whilst receiving support.

· Check email daily and respond to urgent requests

· Review workload daily and prioritise accordingly

· Ensure that meaningful involvement of clients is central to all activities, applying equal opportunities and anti-discriminatory policies and ensuring rights to privacy and confidentiality.

· Contribute to the development and review of The Dash Charity policies and procedures.
