All Trustees of The Sussex Reptile Centre are required to:
· Ensure that the organisation pursues its stated charitable objects as defined in the Governing Document, establishing a clear vision, set of values and strategy and ensuring that there is a common understanding of these by trustees, staff and associated personnel.
· Ensure that operational plans and budgets support the vision and strategy.
· Ensure that the Charity complies with the Governing Document and any relevant legislation and/or regulations. Such legislation includes:
-Animal Welfare act 2006
-Charities Act 2011
In addition to this, the trustees shall ensure that collaboration with the local authority is sought to obtain any appropriate licensing required under the Animal Welfare Act 2006 including any future changes requiring specific licensing for animal rescue centres.
· Support and provide advice on The Sussex Reptile Rescue Centre ’s purpose, vision, goals and activities.
· Approve operational strategies and policies and monitor and evaluate their implementation.
· Oversee The Sussex Reptile Rescue’s financial plans and budgets and monitor and evaluate progress.
· Ensure the effective and efficient administration of the organisation.
· Ensure that key risks are being identified, monitored and controlled effectively.
· Review and approve The Sussex Reptile Rescue’s financial statements.
· Provide support and challenge to The Sussex Reptile Rescue’s CEO in the exercise of their delegated authority and affairs.
· Keep abreast of changes in The Sussex Reptile Rescue operating environment.
· Contribute to regular reviews of [charity name]’s own governance. Attend Board meetings, adequately prepared to contribute to discussions.

The HMSA is a small and dynamic charity that helps those living with hypermobility syndromes (and carers and families) to be independent and live well. We also provide education for professionals in social care, health, teaching and local authority employees. We have big plans to expand our offer to our members and professionals, as well as raise the profile of the charity and hypermobility syndromes. We are seeking to appoint up to 2 new trustees. Recognising that most people with these conditions present and are supported in primary care, we are particularly keen to recruit someone with a background in Primary Care to help us develop our plans. We are also interested to hear from anyone with experience of strengthening social media channels and comms, especially within a small charity setting.
The Trustee role involves:
- Preparing for and attending quarterly board meetings – 2 hours in the evening or a half day on a Saturday (half online/half in person if possible). The in person meetings are likely to be in central London.
- Providing support/guidance to the other Trustees, the CEO as well as staff/volunteer team. This may include small group working in between Board meetings.
- You may also be asked to participate in sub-committees as required.

About the role
The Area Lead Volunteer is a key volunteer leadership role within Scouting with responsibility for providing outstanding management and support for volunteers in the Groups that make up the Area.
The primary focus is to ensure that Scouting open to all and anyone can join the adventure; regardless of faith, ethnicity or social background, because we believe Scouting has the ability to change lives.
You do this by leading the team of Group Lead Volunteers, and other volunteers in the Area, and working with the Scouting Support Team (employed staff) to grow Scouting, and by making sure all groups are running a high quality, safe and balanced programme of activities that is challenging, relevant and rewarding.
Key tasks
- Ensure that every Squirrel Drey, Beaver Scout Colony, Cub Scout Pack, Scout Troop, Explorer Scout Unit and Scout Network within the Area can deliver a high-quality programme which is challenging, relevant and rewarding for every young person.
- Provide proactive line management, including coaching, mentoring and guidance to Group Lead Volunteers as well as other adult volunteers in the Area who directly report to you including setting objectives for their work, holding regular one-to-one meetings and reviews.
- Build and maintain a sense of Area team by holding regular team meetings with the Group Lead Volunteers, your Area Leadership Team, and other appropriate volunteers collaborate and provide peer support.
- Lead a safe, open and transparent culture around keeping young people and adults safe through our Yellow Card and key policies.
- Ensure the timely recruitment and appointment of new Group Lead Volunteers where required and ensuring that interim arrangements are put in place for any vacant posts.
- Together with the Group Lead Volunteers, agree the priorities for the Area and produce a plan to deliver these to meet the ScoutsCymru vision and strategic objectives.
- Ensure that problems within the Area are resolved so that an effective volunteering culture is encouraged, and Group Lead Volunteers feel supported to deal with challenging issues, including complaints in a timely manner.
- Ensure that the Area has an adequate team of supported and appropriate adults working effectively together and with others to meet the Scouting needs of the area.

- Play an active part within the ScoutsCymru regional team by attending up to three meetings per year for Area Lead Volunteers, led by the Regional Lead Volunteer and twice yearly ScoutsCymru Team meetings for all Area Lead Volunteers to contribute to the development of Scouting within Wales as part of the ScoutsCymru team.

We are looking for up to ten UK university students to join our volunteer Student Ambassadors team and help Ygam achieve its social purpose by reaching out to students at university. This will be achieved by advising Ygam on the needs of students, supporting with content development, organising activities at your campus, and join us at events to raise awareness of gaming and gambling harms.
We are seeking individuals who are outgoing, with a confident personality. You will enjoy engaging with other students and be able to advise us on the experiences of students with regards to gaming and gambling.We’d love to hear from students with an interest in mental health, psychology, content development, and gaming.

We’re looking for a new fundraising volunteer and/or director! Are you passionate about securing funds for grassroot organisations?
This opportunity involves overseeing Fuel Poverty Action’s fundraising plans and strategy, reaching out to donors and promoting our vital campaigns through grant bids to help end fuel poverty in the UK.
This role would require an average of 16-20 hrs per month and can be done remotely. We are also open to you joining FPA’s board of directors, subject to capacity and experience.
