Job description

Duration: Fixed-Term until March 2025 (extension subject to funding)

Location: Cardiff or London (although all our staff are currently working at home. This situation is likely to continue until at least June 2021)

Are you a health expert with experience of working in the humanitarian sector?  Do you have a research background and a commitment to improving humanitarian effectiveness by increasing the public health evidence base? Can you communicate effectively with key stakeholders in the humanitarian sector, at all levels of seniority, both verbally and in writing?

We are looking to recruit a Humanitarian Health Research Advisor to join our dynamic Research for Health in Humanitarian Crises (R2HC) team. You will play a critical role in ensuring that the research we fund meets priority needs of the humanitarian community. Your professional credibility will position us well to share evidence generated through the R2HC with health experts. Your research skills will facilitate our collaboration with academics across the globe.

Elrha is a global organisation, working to find solutions to complex humanitarian problems through research and innovation. We fund and support work that goes on to shape the way people across the world are supported during a crisis.

We are based in London and Cardiff but our roles have a global reach. As an established and respected part of the humanitarian community, we work closely and meaningfully with networks and actors to make change happen.

To be successful, you will have initiative and will be well connected in the humanitarian community. You will be flexible and will have the ability to work well in a busy and constantly changing environment. You will have strong organisational and communication skills.

If you are passionate about  improving humanitarian response through research,  and want to be part of an organisation that creates positive change in the humanitarian sector, and you strongly believe you can contribute, then join us and we’ll give you every opportunity to succeed.

If you feel you have the skills and experience we’re looking for, please review the full job description for further details. Please ensure you complete the personal statement as part of the application process to explain how you feel you meet the requirements of the role and why you feel this is next career move for you.

We look forward to hearing from you
