The UK Advocacy team focuses on creating lasting change for people with arthritis.We identify the policy changes that are needed, and influence decision-makers with engaging public affairs tactics and by campaigning alongside people with arthritis.
This role will support our public affairs work targeted at Westminster to make real change happen. About the role
In this exciting role, you will be a critical member of our influencing team, helping to bring the voice of people living with arthritis right into the heart of Westminster. Working with the Public Affairs team, you will help to deliver the charity’s public affairs activities, building a strong profile with decision-makers to ensure our messages and policy priorities are front and centre of their thoughts.
You will support the delivery of exciting and engaging influencing strategies, working with colleagues to combine policy, public affairs, campaigning, media and social media in order to influence policy change. You will also play a key role in organising and delivering the charity’s activities at Parliamentary events and political party conferences.
About you

- Strong communicator to help build external relationships with politicians, civil servants and other decision-makers, coupled with good understanding of the Westminster Parliamentary process, UK Government and the wider influencing environment to produce engaging materials and organise events.
- Excellent organisational skills are essential, to deliver a programme of events, politician visits and other activities in Westminster and across the devolved nations.
- Excellent attention to detail, and ability to adapt written and verbal communication styles for different audiences.
- Ability to work with colleagues to develop external briefings, internal briefings and engaging materials for Parliamentarians and policy-makers, with the ability to synthesize often complex policy information.
- Proven ability of monitoring and analysis of the external policy, political and Parliamentary landscape across the UK nations, alerting breaking news and important developments.

About the Project
Herts Mind Network (HMN) has formed a partnership with Hertfordshire Partnership Foundation Trust (HPFT) to deliver support in the Mental Health Urgent Care Centre (MHUCC) at Lister Hospital.
The MHUCC provides a dedicated space and service for rapid mental health assessment, intervention, and referral, thereby enhancing the quality of care and optimising use of systemwide resources. It provides 24-hour access to specialist mental health assessment aimed at supporting service users to access the least restrictive care and treatment options. It creates a systemwide response to acute mental health crisis that enables people’s needs to be met with the right care at the right time.
About the Role:
The Support, Time and Recovery (STAR) Worker will be based at the Mental Health Urgent Care Centre at Lister Hospital, promoting joint working and creating a seamless pathway into community support for clients recovering from mental ill health.
The STAR workers will work closely with individuals in a mental health crisis currently in the MHUCC, by using a person-centred approach to ensure that everyone is supported with dignity and respect.
You will have a key role with safe and supportive observations and attending to the service users on the unit. You will provide support for carers and liaise with the wider services to support smooth and timely discharge of service users back to the community.
Key Responsibilities
- To provide a consistent presence in the MHUCC for individuals with mental health needs to access for support.
- To advocate for service users, explaining organisations and pathways.
- To provide immediate information and advice about managing wellbeing, reducing risk and onward signposting and referral into wider HMN services and VCFSE organisations.
- To facilitate a clear and easily accessible pathway into the wider Nightlight Crisis Alternative services for individuals, to support timely MHUCC discharge, as an alternative to statutory crisis intervention, or as a supplement to wider care and treatment plans.
- To gather feedback and evaluation on patient experience in the MHUCC
- To develop sound and extensive knowledge of local resources to support in enabling appropriate referrals where necessary.
- To link in with wider Herts Mind Network services and facilitate referrals
- To ensure that a collaborative approach is used, with effective communication links developed with external professional NHS services and to work as an effective member of any multi-disciplinary team. This will require stringent relationships.
- To support individuals to develop sustainable local social networks, both through our HMN Wellbeing Centres and other community services and resources.

About the role
This is a great chance to be a part of a service working alongside the Healthcare & Education Department within HMP Bronzefield to identify and support women who are identified as being neurodiverse or presenting with symptoms of neurodiversity and will be returning to the community. The Neurodiversity Lead will focus support on women with a neurodivergent need and improve their transition into the community, with ongoing community support; including collaborating with other healthcare professionals to develop their support plans.
The Lead will work in a multi-disciplinary way, including attending the weekly complex case meeting and/or the Safety Intervention Meeting (SIM) as appropriate, they will act as a specialist member of the wider Advance Criminal Justice Service - London team, to facilitate a pathway for women with complex needs including mental health and neurodiversity needs. The Neurodiversity Lead will accept referrals from the Advance Criminal Justice Community team and prison services, and will create a link between prison and the community, helping women to navigate support services and to positively re-integrate into their community upon release. They will co-design a person-centred support and action plan with women accessing support, enabling to support them to address their needs and any risks. The role will combine a casework- based approach, along with a signposting and advice service for the women.
The Neurodiversity Lead will be based in the community and will provide a drop-in service (1-2 day per week) in HMP Bronzefield to support women who are close to release.
A car may be desirable for this role, though not essential
About You
To be successful as the Neurodiversity Lead you will need the below experience and skills:
An excellent understanding of mental health, neurodiversity needs violence against women and girls and its links to women in the criminal justice system
You will have the ability to complete trauma informed, support and action plans in collaboration with the woman; to support in addressing their multiple and individual needs and enable them to engage with services, which will result in timely and prescribed outcomes being achieved.
You will possess excellent organisational skills, excellent communication skills and be able to work in a prison environment whilst remaining calm.

The Role
As a Volunteer Officer, you will be responsible for the delivery of the Volunteer Ranger Service in Richmond and Bushy Park. Supporting the current volunteer rangers and training and managing new volunteers, where appropriate. You’ll seek to develop training opportunities and resources.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Volunteer Officer to join the Volunteering Team at The Royal Parks. This role will focus on delivering the Volunteer Ranger Service in both Richmond and Bushy the Richmond Park Volunteer Bus service. The service was started as a trial with a purpose to engage, inspire and inform members of the public about the history, heritage and wildlife of the parks, and is now seen as a growing success. This role is varied and will see the successful applicant working primarily Richmond and Bushy Park, but with regular travel to all of the parks. Your role will be to manage, the current volunteers, induct and train new volunteers where appropriate, and work to grow and develop different opportunities that the service presents. This role will also work with other volunteer groups across the parks helping to deliver conservation groups, corporates and develop new and existing initiatives. The volunteer officer will support the wider volunteer team and coordinators where needed.
This role involves a lot of in park time, working with and supporting volunteers on the ground, coupled with some office time. This role also requires a large amount of weekend and flexible working, with usually a minimum of two weekends a month in the Parks supporting the Rangers on the ground. The ideal applicant will be friendly, open, and enjoy spending time outdoors and have experience working with and managing volunteers, ideally in an engagement, visitor service or conservation setting.
Additionally, you will:
- Help to maintain all tools, equipment and PPE
- Support the promotion of the Volunteer Ranger Service and wider Volunteering activities
- Ensure all expenditure is approved in advance by the Volunteer Manager and budgets are updated accordingly
About You
To be considered as a Volunteer Officer, you will need:
- Proven experience of working with, managing, leading and training volunteers, especially relating to visitor engagement and conservation
- Experience of developing and delivering successful volunteer projects and programmes and working with partners
- Excellent people skills including team working, negotiating, problem solving and the ability to be calm and decisive in challenging situations
- To be highly organised with the ability to prioritise a heavy workload, manage tasks simultaneously and perform effectively under pressure
- Awareness and advocate of equality, inclusion and diversity, health and safety, safeguarding
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience of managing budgets and of delivering, reporting and evaluating projects would be beneficial to your application, as would experience of competing demands and delivering a visitor service in a park setting. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
The Head of Fundraising will contribute to upReach's mission by meeting financial targets, recognising when to make the fundraising ‘ask’ and leading the annual budget process. You will use clear, creative written communication to produce convincing cases for support, represent the charity at relevant networking events, work closely with the upReach Development Board and act as an ambassador for the organisation.
Reporting to the Director of Income Generation and External Engagement you will manage three direct reports and support individuals participating in the Future Charity Leaders Programme (upReach’s graduate scheme). About the Role:
As our Legacy Officer, you will play a vital role in administering UK and international legacy gifts, from notification to final distribution, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and timely processing. World Jewish Relief created the Specialist Training and Employment Programme (STEP) for refugees in 2016 and today we are the largest provider of specialist employment support to people who have experienced forced migration in the UK.STEP aims to support and empower people through a tailored employment programme that addresses the complex barriers that they face when preparing for and ultimately finding work in the UK.
We support all people who have experienced forced migration, regardless of their proximity to the labour market, to develop the skills and access the opportunities they need to secure sustainable and meaningful employment. We run STEP online and in person programmes across the UK.
We are now expanding our work to deliver (in partnership with the British Council) an English Language and Employment Support Programme for up to 4,000 Ukrainians and Hong Kong BNO status/visa holder (50% of each community) over the next 12 months.
We are recruiting Cantonese speaking Employment Advisors to join the STEP team delivering this new programme. You will provide high quality advice and guidance through 1:1 employability support and group employability workshops with the aim of coaching individuals and supporting them on their journey into employment that suits their previous experience and skill set.
You will prepare participants for employment and help them to achieve their chosen training and employment objectives. You will monitor and encourage participants’ engagement and attendance in all aspects of the programme. About the Role
Working with the support and guidance of your manager, you will be responsible for delivering our Reconnect, family support and mediation service across the North East Region
You will work collaboratively with colleagues across Depaul’s services and with external agencies to reduce family breakdown. You will build and maintain a caseload of clients at risk of, or experiencing homelessness. You will work with clients in a variety of situations, including young people at school who are experiencing a breakdown in their family relationships, those who have been forced to leave their homes and are temporarily staying with our volunteer Nightstop hosts, and those who are now living in our accommodation services.
You will provide a wide range of support and guidance to these clients and their families, aiming to improve understanding and communication, reduce conflict and strengthen relationships, amongst other things. This will include a range of methods, including one-to-one and joint party mediation. Occasionally you may also provide basic guidance to young people and parents regarding their housing options.
With full support, you will be responsible for ensuring effective and safe management of the service on a day-to-day basis, including working in line with all relevant policies, procedures and best practice guidelines, as well as maintaining arcuate and up-to-date records on our database.
Key responsibilities include:
· Work directly with young people aged 11-25, and their families, who are experiencing family difficulties and at risk of homelessness, providing guidance, personalised family support and one-to-one and joint party mediation if appropriate;
· Carry a caseload of 15 – 20 clients per FTE for whom you will be the named keyworker;
· Process referrals from relevant agencies in order to build and maintain a full caseload of clients.
· Work in partnership with young people and their families to complete risk assessments, needs assessments and changes plans and outcome questionnaires to work with them towards measurable outcomes.
· Build strong working relationships with all Depaul colleagues and services across the region, as well as other relevant agencies and local authority teams, to promote the service, build effective referral routes and processes and provide holistic support to young people.
· Maintain clear, accurate and up-to-date records of all aspects of your work, in line with monitoring and evaluation processes and standard operational procedures.
· Work closely with statutory bodies and other agencies to support any relevant safeguarding procedures, advocating on behalf of young people and parents/carers when necessary.
About You
You will need to have the following skills and experience:
· Significant experience working with young people and families in crisis; reflective, creative and solution-focused in your approach and committed to working in an assets-based way.
· To hold or complete a Level 4 Interpersonal Mediation Practitioner’s Certificate (IMPC). Training will be provided if the candidate doesn’t hold the qualification, but training will have to be completed before the end of the probation period.
· Experience of working independently and managing own caseload; self-motivated and able to prioritise tasks and carry out efficient organisation and administration.

We have a vacancy for a Community Outreach Worker to join our team, supporting refugees and asylum seekers in the community with multiple needs who have mental health as a primary need, through providing advice, information and holistic support.
About the Service
This is an exciting and reasonably new project, ‘Flourish’ – Mental Health for Refugees in Hertfordshire, which is a highly flexible and responsive outreach service developed to meet the needs of refugees fleeing the war in Ukraine & other refugees in Hertfordshire.
The countywide holistic service also provides emotional wellbeing support for families who are hosting refugees.
Purpose of Post
- To provide advice, information, onward referral and holistic support to clients with mental ill health.
- Support to build social networks and reduce isolation whilst settling into the Hertfordshire community this includes building a sustainable and empowering peer support network and building confidence and self-esteem.
- To ensure that the safety and wellbeing of the client is monitored and reviewed regularly.
- To remain a source of independent support for all clients.
- Embed a person centred and solution focused approach in all aspects of the role.
- To work in a trauma informed way including awareness of the 6 principles of trauma informed practice, putting the clients emotional and practical needs at the forefront of this work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Working closely with all key delivery partners across the system to ensure the service is responsive, inclusive and easy to access.
- To take allocated referrals from any agencies including the Community Navigators, Borough and District Councils, Herts Help, Housing Providers, the Refugee Council and self-referrals including walk in contacts at any of the Mind wellbeing centres across the county.
- Hold a caseload of clients, supporting for approx. 10 weeks
- To create a safe space for the individual to be able to explore their feelings and improve their understanding around their mental health.
- To complete a holistic needs assessment, making use of assertive outreach work to achieve the initial client contact, if required.
- Ensure all person-centred risk assessments and support plans are completed as appropriate.
- Proactively recognise the indicators of deteriorating mental health and facilitate appropriate action, whilst liaising with relevant agencies.
- To provide safeguarding intervention support. This will include responding to problems, which pose an immediate risk.
- To work alongside translators when required to provide a robust package of support for clients.
- To provide advocacy services to clients experiencing mental ill health.
- To accompany clients to initial visits and appointments as necessary in order to ensure the sustained use of existing support services in the Borough.
- To work with the third sector and signpost to other agencies as necessary to improve the health and wellbeing of clients referred to the service.
- To liaise with other agencies to ensure that clients receive appropriate support and continue to remain engaged with the service.
- To assist clients to access appropriate mental health services, housing/tenancy services and other services according to assessed needs.
- To establish effective pathways across a variety of agencies to maximise and provide effective partnership working.
- Support clients to build their emotional resilience, promoting self-management through building an understanding of their own triggers/coping strategies.
- To actively seek the views and feedback from refugees and hosting families in order to shape and improve service delivery.

About this key role
As our Financial Wellbeing Coach, you will provide person-centred support to a caseload of service users who will either be serving community sentences or have been released from prison. This will involve undertaking assessment and action planning with individual service users and creating a safe and trusting environment, using trauma-informed practice to successfully facilitate a supportive and constructive relationship with service users.
We will also count on you to deliver a range of interventions to service users which contribute towards the achievement of prescribed outcomes, including group work sessions, and to work with service users flexibly, meeting and undertaking interventions in a range of locations across a wide geographical area. Developing and maintaining positive working relationships with external agencies and working towards contractual targets and outcomes within agreed timescales and in line with specified quality standards are also vital aspects of the role.
