We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Fundraising Officer to join the fundraising team at the Batten Disease Family Association CIO (BDFA).

The BDFA, founded in 1998 is the only patient organisation in the UK for families affected by Batten disease, a rare and terminal neurodegenerative condition that affects children and young adults. The BDFA offers informed guidance and support to families and the professionals who work with them, as well as actively raising awareness, and promoting research into the management of Batten disease to improve patient care pathways and ultimately find a cure.

This is an exciting time to join the charity, which has grown to offer additional support services for families affected by Batten disease and to implementing a long-term strategy to develop its advocacy, education and research capabilities. We’re looking for an individual who has some experience in fundraising, particularly leading on all aspects of community fundraising, developing and nurturing relationships with volunteer fundraising groups and individual supporters. The successful candidate will work under the guidance of our CEO to develop community fundraising maximising the funds raised by volunteer fundraisers and developing supporter engagement. The successful candidate will also work alongside our Trusts and Foundations Fundraising Officer to support our Trusts and Foundations income generation.

The Ideal Candidate for this role will have:

- Experience in all aspects of community fundraising including events, assisting fundraisers to develop imaginative fundraising ideas and inspiring new supporters to raise funds whilst maintaining relationships with existing supporters

- Experience in building and sustaining long-term relationships with fundraising groups and individual supporters

- Experience in managing effective and creative fundraising communications on social media and the website

- Ability to contribute to the overall Trusts and Foundations income stream, including proactively researching and identifying grant funding opportunities 

- Ability to lead on creative fundraising campaigns around key events such as Batten disease awareness day and Christmas

This job requires a motivated individual who has a passion for all those within our Batten community and a strong desire to support the development and financial growth of the BDFA. The role is full time (35 hours per week) and is home based with occasional travel around the UK to meet donors and support fundraising events.

At Malaria No More UK, we exist to end malaria – together. This deadly disease is preventable and treatable, yet a child still dies every minute. We refuse to accept that. 

We’re looking for a digitally fluent storyteller and campaigner to make malaria impossible to ignore on online global platforms. As our Global Digital Engagement Officer, you will work closely within the communications team to help lead the development and delivery of our digital engagement strategy, ensuring our content is insight-led, cuts through the noise, inspires action, delivers on objectives, and amplifies the voices of those on the frontlines of the fight against malaria. 

You’ll take our messages to the audiences that matter most: from world-leaders and political decision-makers to supporters and influencers. You’ll work across the organisation, helping ensure the people and stories that drive change are seen, heard, and shared.

Key Responsibilities 

Strategy & Planning 

• Support with the creation and delivery of a monthly, insight-led digital engagement and content plan , ensuring it adheres to the strategy, and aligns with MNMUK’s advocacy and campaign objectives and influencing global decision-making. 

• Manage and optimise channels and content from an agreed strategy, ensuring our messages reach and resonate with priority audiences in key geographies. 

• Support on all aspects of digital and content for multiplatform global campaigns and engagement moments (e.g. World Malaria Day, UNGA, G7, Davos). 

• Maximise reach and influence of Malaria No More UK’s  ambassadors and patrons to amplify messages and help the Malaria No More UK and Zero Malaria channels grow. 

• With the Head of Ambassador Relations and Creative Partnerships, devise a clear strategy for building a new pool of creator influencers engaged in policy and advocacy influencing. 

Content Creation & Publishing 

• With support from senior communications’ colleagues, you will ideate, and produce creative multi-channel content, sometimes supporting the management of agencies, freelancers, and partners to ensure delivery of world-class multiplatform campaigns.

• Provide digital, content, and social expertise across MNMUK and its partners, ensuring creatives, scientists, and advocates are amplified through coordinated digital strategies.

• Along with the Senior Digital and Content Manager, function as a digital, content, and social media advisor to the MNMUK team. 

• Maintain consistent use of agreed narratives and campaign messaging within brand guidelines. 

Engagement & Amplification 

• Support digital engagement with influencers, ambassadors, and decision-makers, using paid and organic tactics to drive advocacy impact. 

• Amplify voices of trusted messengers from endemic countries, world class scientists, Zero Malaria celebrity ambassadors, and influencers in target markets. 

Insight & Reporting 

• Use data and insight to support MNMUK’s mission. Generate weekly digital and social reports to provide insights and recommendations to senior leadership and partners, using insights to help refine strategy and improve impact. 

• Feed results into campaign planning and organisational learning. 

Website Management  

• Support the upkeep and optimisation of the organisation’s website by updating content, uploading blogs, campaign pages, and resources, ensuring accuracy, accessibility, and alignment with brand guidelines. Flag technical issues to external providers or the Senior Digital Manager as needed. 

Qualifications, skills, and experience  

Essential 

• Proven experience in managing social channels including publishing content and engaging with audiences. 

• Proven experience in creating original content for web and social channels. 

• Proven experience delivering digital engagement strategies for campaigns that influence decision-makers, ideally in advocacy, politics, or global health. 

• Knowledge of paid social strategy, SEO/SEM, audience segmentation, and analytics. 

• Knowledge of CMS tools, influencer tools, and analytics tools. 

• Proven ability to grow organic engagement across all channels. 

• Confidence advising senior leaders on digital strategy, with the ability to influence cross-organisational decision-making. 

• Strong understanding of accessibility, safeguarding, and ethical practice in digital spaces. 

• Knowledge of accessibility standards (e.g. WCAG) for digital content. 

• Familiarity with emerging AI and digital optimisation tools. 

• Ability to work proactively and independently in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment. 

Desirable 

• Experience in the NGO, advocacy, or global health sectors, or in a similar role for a corporate organisation. 

• Experience of A/B testing. 

• Understanding of UK political/media landscapes and responding to and monitoring it’s impacts your work. 

• Experience collaborating with international NGO, UN, and civil society partners, particularly in Africa.

Details:

Salary: £22,800 per annum based on 3 days/21 hours per week (FTE: £38,000 per annum)

Contract: Fixed term contract for two years. Part time role working 3 days (21 hours) per week.

Location: The position will be based in Northern Ireland and will have a desk at Northern Ireland Hospice, Belfast. This role is eligible for the Hospice UK Hybrid Working Arrangement from the start of employment.

Hospice UK’s head office is based in London. This role will have full web-based connectivity to the central office, with regular opportunities to engage with the line manager and colleagues via email, face-to-face meetings, video calls, and telephone.

Whilst we work flexibly, because we work with decision makers in Stormont, there will be an expectation that you can travel to Belfast at short notice if required. 

There will be occasional travel to London for department and/or organisational wide events, such as our in-person quarterly events.

This exciting new role in our award-winning External Affairs department will work on policy and public affairs in Northern Ireland. You will fight for the hospice sector and people who need their care and support, helping us to create a nation where no one misses out on the care they need at the end of their lives.

This will be our first on-the-ground role in Northern Ireland, providing the post-holder with the opportunity to build our influencing work from the ground up. You will have the chance to build on our work over the last three years and the strong relationships we have with hospices. You will be working closely with our Policy and Public Affairs Manager (Scotland and NI) to expand our impact in Northern Ireland.

Key aspects of this role will include:

• Policy research, development and analysis - keep track of policy and political developments in Stormont, analyse their impact on hospices and people who need palliative care and brief colleagues and hospices on this. We would also expect you to prepare succinct and influential reports, consultation responses and briefings on policy issues for a range of audiences.
• Public affairs and campaigning - plan and deliver public affairs activity to achieve Hospice UK’s strategic aims and react to opportunities to influence the political debate in Northern Ireland, engaging with civil servants, parliamentarians and other external stakeholders in Northern Ireland.
• Develop and maintain effective working relationships with key partners and stakeholders
• Act as a media spokesperson and represent Hospice UK at external events, meetings and conferences
• Build relationships with hospices in Northern Ireland to understand the challenges they face and the context they operate within. 

It is essential that you have experience in policy, public affairs, campaigns or a related field in Northern Ireland and a good understanding of policy development and/or parliamentary processes in Northern Ireland.

We would also expect you to have excellent communication, influencing and relationship building skills and an ability to quickly read, understand and respond to complex information.

This is a unique opportunity for an early-to-mid-career professional passionate about ocean conservation, climate governance, and environmental justice to contribute to urgent global debates at the intersection of science, policy, and human rights.

Key Responsibilities:

Research and Analysis

• Conduct rigorous desk-based research on deep sea mining, and developments in related governance frameworks.
• Analyse the social, environmental, and geopolitical implications of emerging ocean and climate technologies, specifically including mCDR
• Produce advocacy reports, briefings, and policy analyses to inform EJF’s advocacy and communications.
• Monitor developments across international fora and within international specific MEAs (e.g., ISA, UNFCCC, CBD) and scientific literature.

Essential Requirements

• A degree (Master’s preferred) in environmental policy, marine science, international relations, or a related field.

• Strong understanding of international environmental governance, particularly relating to ocean protection, climate policy, or emerging marine technologies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce high-quality materials for both expert and general audiences.

• A demonstrable commitment to environmental justice
• A clear understanding of and strong commitment to EJF’s mission of environmental protection and social justice.

Desirable

You will have a passion for telling powerful, important stories and enjoy pitching to some of the UK’s highest profile journalists, finding news hooks and human interest in the IOP’s cutting-edge research. You will be a quick, accurate and confident writer and have experience in responding to the news agenda and advising colleagues. The JABBS Foundation for Women and Girls is looking for a talented Communications, Advocacy and Partnerships Officer to help shape and share their story. It's a brand-new role in a small but mighty team, helping to build awareness and influence through creative communications and meaningful partnerships.

Salary: £42k
Contract: Two-year fixed-term, 35 hours full time (or reduced hours considered)
Location: Hybrid with 3 days per week in Birmingham office and occasional national travel

About the role

This role will be central to shaping and strengthening how JABBS advocates for and amplifies the voices of women. Working closely with the Advocacy & Communications Manager and the CEO, you'll bring creative skills and strategic thinking to communications, ensuring JABBS' work and partnerships are visible, engaging and impactful.

In this role you can expect to:

* Support on the design and delivery of strategic communications and advocacy

The independent gender violence advocate will work closely with victims of gender-based violence from the point of crisis, to provide high quality independent advocacy and support to survivors of gender-based violence at the highest risk and their children.

The role will be part of increasing the ability of partner agencies to recognise, reject and respond appropriately and safely to all forms of gender-based violence (including domestic violence, sexual, financial and emotional abuse, female genital mutilation, forced marriage and honour-based violence). The job involves working within a multi-agency framework consisting of the MARAC and local partnership protocols and procedures that prioritise the safety of survivors. The post holder will empower survivors by providing them with emotional, practical and personal welfare support. The job involves ensuring that women are provided with a safe, supportive and welcoming environment, enabling them to access their rights, make decisions and increase their life options.

You will work within a multi-agency framework consisting of the MARAC and local partnership protocols and procedures that prioritise the safety of survivors. The job involves informing survivors of the full range of civil, criminal, and practical options that might increase their safety.

Friends of Palestinian Universities builds UK and international academic solidarity, partnership, and exchange with Palestinian higher education institutions facing systematic attack. 

We work to support the resilience of Palestinian scholars and students, strengthen international cooperation, and uphold the principles of freedom, equity, and justice for the future of education in Palestine.

Position Overview

The Senior Programme Officer will support the planning, implementation, and evaluation of Friends of Palestinian Universities’ advocacy and awareness, and building UK-Palestine higher education links programmes. This role involves working closely with the director, wider team, and partners, managing projects, and ensuring the effective delivery of initiatives aimed at mobilising support for Palestinian universities and raising awareness about the challenges faced by Palestinian students and educators.

The role requires excellent coordination, communication, and partnership-building skills, including supporting structured engagement with Palestinian higher education representatives through regular convening, briefings, and follow-up.

Key responsibilities

1. Building UK–Palestinian Academic Links

• Support the development and implementation of Friends of Palestinian Universities’ annual building links plan in line with programme and organisational goals.

• Support the design and delivery of partnerships and collaborative projects with Palestinian universities, including research, fellowships, and exchange initiatives.

• Liaise with partners in Palestine and the UK to map opportunities for meaningful and equitable cooperation.

• Create and maintain an accessible and up to date database of UK, Palestinian and international networks. 

• Contribute to organising Friends of Palestinian Universities’ annual conference.

2. Advocacy & Awareness-Raising

• Support the development and implementation of Friends of Palestinian Universities’ annual advocacy & awareness plan in line with programme and organisational goals.

• Research and prepare public-facing resources (e.g. briefings, reports, speaker events) for academic, policy, and civil society audiences.

• Build relationships with UK-based higher education networks, staff unions, academic departments, and student societies.

• Contribute to organising Friends of Palestinian Universities’ Education, Occupation & Liberation programme of events.

• Support the Director and Palestinian partner representatives with research and briefings as necessary for public facing engagements. 

3. Monitoring & Evaluation

• Work to achieve KPIs agreed in the annual work plan.

• Work with the Director to plan and evaluate programme strategy and delivery.

• Monitor programme impact and contribute to reporting for donors, Trustees, and partners.

• Produce quarterly reports on programme activities and outcomes for the Director and Board of Trustees.

4. Representation & Convening

• Represent Friends of Palestinian Universities in coalitions, conferences, and sector forums as appropriate and with the agreement of the Director.

• Facilitate spaces for Palestinian scholars, students, and advocates to share knowledge and shape agendas in line with their collective priorities.

5. General Support and Team Contribution

• Actively support and promote Friends of Palestinian Universities’ mission and values.

• Work as a part of a team and contribute to collective staff wellbeing. Adapt to the flexible working of a small organisation.

• Collaborate closely with the Friends of Palestinian Universities team on shared projects and organisational priorities.

• Follow Friends of Palestinian Universities’ policies and processes.

• Undertake administrative tasks as necessary for the effective implementation of the role. 

Skills & Qualifications

Essential

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, International Development, Social Sciences, or a related field.

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in programme management or related field, preferably within the non-profit or education sector.

• Strong understanding of the contemporary social and political reality for Palestinians, awareness about the educational context in Palestine and the challenges faced by Palestinian students and educators.

• Demonstrated ability to coordinate collective initiatives with multiple partner institutions and maintain structured, professional communication with partners.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.

• Strong organisational and administrative skills.

• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to sustain and develop effective professional relationships.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software.

• Right to work in the UK.

• Fluency in Arabic.

Desirable

• Master’s degree in a relevant field

• Experience working with international partners and stakeholders.

• Experience convening working groups, committees, or multi-institutional collaborations.

We are looking for a highly organised, pro-active and confident Digital Communications Officer to join our Campaigns and Communications team. You will work closely with the Digital Communications Manager to support all things digital including social media and website content, as well as coordinating digital content for EUmetriosis, a European funded endometriosis research project. This role is part-funded by the EUmetriosis project.

You’ll be confident working across multiple projects to varying deadlines and enjoy working as part of a small but driven communications and campaigns team, who are passionate about raising awareness and driving change for those with endometriosis.

Endometriosis impacts the physical and mental health of 10% of women and those assigned female at birth, from puberty to menopause - although the impact may be felt for life. Yet it’s a disease most people have never heard of, do not understand and currently has no cure. It costs the UK economy around £8.2 billion every year in healthcare costs, loss of work and treatments and yet it isn’t recognised by most employers. As the UK’s leading charity for all those affected by endometriosis, we’re determined to change this and ensure that everyone gets prompt diagnosis and the best treatment and support.
