This is a new fundraising opportunity to help provide support for serving personnel, veterans and their families ensuring that no-one battles alone.
Supported by the Statutory Grants Manager, this role is fundamental in developing, supporting and championing new and existing fundraising from heath providers and local authorities. The aim is to increase income generation in this area whilst raising SSAFA’s profile within local authorities and health care provision. This initiative will require relationship development and bid writing skills to create effective proposals for support.
SSAFA is entering into an exciting period of strategic development within this proven income stream. If successful, you will be the part of a small team with potential for career development.
There will be an occasional need to travel across the UK and to work evenings and weekends at key events.

As an Area Manager you will give leadership, direction and guidance to the staff of Medaille Trust to ensure the provision and development of a high quality service in line with the Trust’s Mission, Values and Strategy.
You will have a good understanding of the CQC framework relating to Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking. You will carry out quarterly assurance audits in all safe houses ensuring any appropriate action is taken where necessary.
You will line manage, induct, mentor, coach and support Service Managers. Additionally, you will ensure that any complaints, grievances and disciplinaries are investigated and responded to in an effective and timely manner in line with Medaille Policies.
Although the post is home based, the post holder will be expected to travel frequently to our safe houses within the South and London areas with some overnight stays.
You must have previous experience in a relevant sector or experience of working with adults that are vulnerable. Experience of managing staff, carrying out line management, supervision and appraisals is essential. Additionally, you must have experience of setting up Service User Engagement groups.

The ACNS is a key senior role within the Nursing team, acting as the clinical specialist lead and overseeing the community nursing service for a defined area on a rotation basis (non-clinical).

Key Responsibilities
Recruitment & Retention
- Administer the recruitment process by placing job adverts into the template on Canva, removing expired job adverts from the THET website; downloading applications; setting up interviews
- Update staff induction materials
- Update the Organisational Organogram on a monthly basis
- Update staff profiles on the THET website
- Maintain internal HR email/In-box
- Ensure new starters are added to the relevant induction meetings and staff meetings
Development & Performance
- Provide induction and refresher training to staff and volunteers on international travel
- Monitor implementation of staff training and development plans
Policies and procedures
- Follow THET policies and procedures, flagging any issues arising
- Update control sheet for policy review dates and maintain version control numbers for policies and forms
Administration
- Provide administrative support to the CEO and SMT
- Update and maintain the Activ absence system: – Create user accounts for new staff/ archive leavers; monitor staff absences
- Administer travel arrangements within the UK and overseas for senior managers
- Oversee and improve standard operating procedures and forms
- Support the HR & Operations Manager with administration of new and current consultants, volunteers, and interns (recruitment, contract reviews, induction, and compliance training schedules)
Operational Support
- Coordinate the procurement process for items and services including approvals, advertising, tender process, preferred supplier contracts, communication to parties
- Undertake office management tasks including responding to THET mail/ calls; arranging and servicing office meetings; maintaining email distribution lists and email accounts
- Facilitate the purchasing of staff IT and other work equipment in line with budget
- Activate email accounts; coordinate laptops for new staff/leavers; open and close IT accounts for starters, and deactivate these for leavers
- Act as the main point of contact for the outsourced IT supplier.
Health and wellbeing
- Prompt Country Directors to ensure Country risk registers are up-to-date and evacuation/hibernation plans exist

Children, Young People and Families at BVSC

The role
BVSC’s Children, Young people and Families team participates in extensive partnership work with voluntary and statutory sector partners. Together we are transforming the way Birmingham supports children, young people and families to help them lived more fulfilled lives.
The Coronavirus pandemic led to an increase in demand for Children, Young People and Families provision, and BVSC require an overall lead to focus on the continued development and delivery of our offer.
We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate complex programme management and systems leadership experience, an understanding of the challenges faced by children, young people and families, and the support mechanisms needed to assist them, as well as a proven track record in building and maintaining partnerships across the private, statutory, and voluntary sector.
