Role: Online Activities Volunteer
Commitment: Currently, sessions are run both during the week (mostly in the afternoon) and at weekends (usually on a Saturday). What will I be doing?
Our amazing Activity Volunteers play a key role in supporting blind children and young people to take part in a variety of activities. These range from sports, creative (singing, performing, art), audiobook club and day trips. Our activities are designed for blind young people to meet new friends, gain confidence, learn new skills/sports, and become more independent. The skills you have developed in your career and personal life will be invaluable to our young people.

What will you be doing?
EcoCounts is a group of volunteers working together to embody EcoCore’s approach to the climate crisis. EcoCore covers a lot of ground because the climate and biodiversity crisis is so all-encompassing, which means we have a lot of varied and different volunteer tasks available, ranging from carbon footprint data collection, setting up sub-teams of friends or colleagues or doing social media or running workshops.
Your responsibilities would be to create volunteer tasks from our work streams, which would include things like:

Emergency Nutrition Network (ENN) is recognised for its work to reduce undernutrition globally. We enhance the effectiveness of nutrition policy and programming by improving knowledge, stimulating learning, connecting key actors and building evidence. Our vision is that every individual caught up in a nutritional emergency, or suffering from malnutrition anywhere in the world, gets the most effective help possible. We undertake knowledge management, research, and advocacy to support national governments, civil society, UN agencies, donors and academic organisations, and communities of practitioners. Through our work and collaborations, we support agencies and individuals to implement evidence-based nutrition programming, predominantly in low- and middle-income countries and in fragile and conflict-affected states.

What we do
ENN’s work includes our “Field Exchange” publication that provides up to date information from research, programme learnings, and news from the sector, generated by practitioners, and distributed to our large network of researchers, practitioners and policy makers globally. We have projects specialising in Infant Feeding in Emergencies, Wasting and Stunting, Maternal and Adolescent Nutrition and support for Small and Nutritionally at-risk Infants under six months & their mothers and also manage a peer-to-peer forum offering timely answers to the questions challenging those on the front line of providing services to treat and prevent malnutrition in the world. ENN does not directly implement programmes but works to improve the effectiveness of all nutrition practitioners by helping to shape policy and practice at global and national levels.
Our Funding
ENN receives funding from governments, UN agencies, private foundations through grants and agreements, as well as contributions from partners.
This Role
The Emergency Nutrition Network intends to expand its funding base. To do this we would like to open funding opportunities with the private and corporate sectors, new foundations and other donors that may have an interest in working to improve nutrition for people in emergency and high malnutrition contexts.
The work will involve identifying potential funding sources, developing relationships and helping to finesse opportunities that can match ENN with potential funders. This role will work with colleagues and will be closely supported by the CEO and technical team.
The position will report to the CEO.
About You
We are looking for someone who would enjoy the challenge of working with a charity to raise funds to provide support for projects and practitioners working in difficult and resource poor situations to treat and prevent malnutrition.

Job Description

· One-to-one counselling sessions online or by phone. With your recognised counselling qualifications, accreditation, insurance and experience you will be an asset to our small charity team
In this role you’ll be able to develop your counselling and therapy skills within an organisation which is person-centred and fiercely trauma-informed
What the role involves
This role may vary depending on needs, but is likely to include:
- Working with individual team members, as needs arise, over and above their clinical supervision. The team member may be experts in health and social care, domestic violence, mental health issues, or any of our other services
- Undertake an assessment session, followed by time-limited counselling with an integrative approach based on humanistic values (via Zoom or phone) to our staff, offering each up to 6 sessions
- Maintain succinct, relevant session notes and store these securely
- Maintaining client confidentiality, upholding data protection and equal opportunities principle
- Attend your own monthly supervision in line with your professional body’s code of ethics, to ensure safe working practices
- Completing paperwork for a DBS check with Hopscotch
What you need for this role
Essential
- Be a member - including student membership - of one of the recognised organisations (see below)
- Level 4 Diploma qualification as a minimum (or be studying towards one)
- Certificate in online counselling such as How to Do Counselling Online by Open University & BACP
- Minimum of 100 hours of supervised counselling hours
- Evidence of professional indemnity insurance and clinical supervision
- Able to keep people’s personal data safe
- Willing and able to provide counselling via Zoom from a private location with a stable WiFi connection
- Able to support a minimum of one team member a week and we request a minimum commitment of one year

ScreenSkills launched its five-year strategy in Autumn 2024. The primary responsibilities of the committee are to provide ScreenSkills with critical oversight over the organisation’s financial health, internal controls and risk management. The committee members play a vital role in safeguarding the current and future financial health and integrity of ScreenSkills and in supporting the Board in meeting its fiduciary and legal responsibilities, thereby ensuring that the organisation can deliver its core purpose, vision and strategy. As a committee member, you will be responsible for providing independent oversight and direction to ensure strong financial stewardship, robust risk management, and effective governance of ScreenSkills. Finance, Audit and Risk Committee members have collective responsibility. This means that the committee members always act as a group and not as individuals.

Main Responsibilities (collectively as part of the committee):
- Review the draft ScreenSkills Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and make recommendations to the Board.

- Liaise with auditors and review external audit findings and recommendations.

The ideal candidate will have the following:

Senior Leadership experience covering areas such as:

We are The Unseen Barriers Foundation – a new, disabled-led Scottish charity (status pending) tackling the invisible causes of exclusion. Shame, sensory overload, emotional exhaustion, disbelief. These are the things that stop people from showing up — to appointments, to events, to life.
The Foundation is built around two original lived experience contributions by our founder:
The Unseen Barriers Framework — a landmark conceptual model naming the distress-based barriers that keep disabled people locked out of support
Cùran — a green plush dragon created as a visual anchor for distress, shutdown, and solidarity
Both are licensed to the Foundation by the creator to ensure they serve a purpose-first, rights-based mission.
We are now looking for trustees to help shape this work from the ground up. This is a working board — not a figurehead role. Trustees will actively contribute to strategic direction, governance, and growth.
We are currently remote-first to ensure full accessibility, but will provide office space (Edinburgh/Glasgow area) once funded. You do not need to be based in either city.
Estimated time commitment:
Around 6–8 hours per month including preparation, meetings, and task-based input
Board meetings held every 6–8 weeks via Zoom

The majority of activities are held at our Life Without Limits Centre by London Bridge.
Role: Activities Volunteer
Commitment: Currently, sessions are run both during the week (mostly in the afternoon) and at weekends (usually on a Saturday). Activity volunteering is a flexible commitment, and you will be able to sign up for the session you like and when you have time. It really is up to you and your availability.

What will I be doing?
Our amazing Activity Volunteers play a key role in supporting blind children and young people to take part in a variety of activities. These range from sports, creative (singing, performing, art), audiobook club and day trips. Our activities are designed for blind young people to meet new friends, gain confidence, learn new skills/sports, and become more independent. The skills you have developed in your career and personal life will be invaluable to our young people.

Who are you?
We welcome applications from people with a wide range of skills and experiences. You don’t need to have volunteered or worked before as full training will be provided. We particularly welcome applications from people with lived experience of sight problems.
